How do white people eat healthy? What do they eat in general
I've known some white girls who eat salads all the time, with maybe a few sandwiches thrown in the mix once in a while. But it all sounds terribly boring. I can see how one could easily deviate from such a diet because it's just so bland, not rich and filling.
So I was just wondering, how do white people/Americans who don't eat ethnic foods eat healthy? When I think of American dinners, I think of macaroni and cheese, pasta, meatloaf, rich casseroles, potatoes, fries, chili, pizza, and barbeque, all of which are usually unhealthy. And when I think of American veggies, all I can think of is steamed plain veggies or salads. I can't really think of American foods that consist of mostly vegetables.

@metaghost4: Lol... you probably shouldn't be so sensitive on the race. It's very reasonable to expect asian people to eat on average more veggies that are typically used in asian cuisine such as bok choy, napa cabbage, chinese eggplant, watercress, etc. and it's also reasonable to expect white people to eat on average more veggies that are typically used in American cuisine such as broccoli, peas, carrots, and corn. There's nothing particularly scandalous about pointing out differences in vegetable preference among races.
Shop at Whole Foods. ~
@metaghost4: I'd say since forever? I live in a Midwest university town, and you'd be wrong to say that everyone around the area eats the same since we have the same access to local grocery stores. You'd also be wrong if you said that on average asian people don't eat certain foods more often than white people and vice versa.
I mean really, don't you think that maybe asian people eat rice more often than do white people? Or that they eat napa cabbage more often than white people? People are influenced by their culture, and the two cultures have very different types of cuisine.
@tuesdaymorning: If I go outside and eat, it's mostly like that. But I like home cooked meals, at home, we have a lot more vegetables, and we don't put a lot of oil in our food..at least I don't when I'm cooking, my mom usually adds a lot more oil. Usually we cook enough for a plate full, then we just divide it up for each separate person.
@sohee: true that. true that.
What are u talking about! I thought they ate McDonalds all the time yknow?
imo, I think that white Americans would have more access and flexibility when it comes to food. I think of mac & cheese with a side of peas when assuming what an American dinner is like as well, but I doubt whites (save the poor ones) would go to farmer's markets and the like to pick out seasonal and nutritious fruits and veg.
Also, mushroom lasagna is the most amazing thing I've ever tasted.
@Oyster: But aren't the veggies/beans usually on the side, and steamed or sauteed with olive oil/herbs (if you're fancy)? They're not really served as one of the main courses, you know? I think the only american dish with mostly veggies that I can think of is green bean casserole. Mmm SO GOOD <3
@fun2killu: i prefer the taste of romain over iceburg, iceburg is too watery for me
@tuesdaymorning: I mean like Italian, German, European.
Ummm I think I understand what you mean now. I wasn't talking about white people in Europe or any other continent, I was just talking about white people in America and asking if there are American foods that are common and healthy besides salads and steamed vegetable sides.
In Asia, vegetables are cheaper than meat and in America there's just meat and breads and dairy products.
Pastas and potatoes aren't healthy? o.o We eat just like how everyone else eats..vegetables + meats. Usually for dinner, chicken, fish, beef, rice, mashed potatoes..etc. and the regular vegetables like broccoli, lettuce, beans, tomatoes (it's actually a fruit, but yeah). One time I had tofu for dinner and it is delicious. Sometimes we grill/fry the chicken, but my mom always wants to eat as healthy as possible, so we always have home cooked meals.
you are too cute! o3o
OT: Im not white..but this hasn't really been something i've wondered lol
a tomatoe is both a vegi and a fruit by definition.
That's true, whatever you guys want to call it.
I'm on the fast food diet can't forget a side of pizza and ice cream for every meal also OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Hell sometimes i just take a pan of grease and gobble it down for desert.

anyways, most white people in America are fat.
@LazyLazyLazy: i think that depends on the type of lettuce Iceburg lettuce is garbage. Romain lettuce on the other hand does have nutritional value.
White people don't eat enough vegetables. Lettuce has no nutrition it's just paper that flushes out toxins like drinking water.
You're asking what a skin color eats. White isn't a race
White = caucasian = one of the races
Unless you're contesting that white =/= caucasian, in which case I no longer care.
@zoneflare2: Your defensiveness makes you sound guilty...tsk
@stewiefg41: i dont know why youre getting so offended she was just curious
pizza is a vegetable!
Chicken and lots of chicken
chicken salad yummy!
beef salad yummy!
i don't see how it's so hard to eat healthy
Very ignorant.. Thinking that a whole race eats one thing
Because wondering what white people who don't eat ethnic foods eat implies that no white people eat ethnic foods or reach out of the American food stereotypes. Don't troll thank you.
@Oyster: Ah, if you eat 100% whole grain pasta, that's definitely good for you, but in general, white carbs shouldn't make up a significant amount of a person's diet. Potatoes are good as long as they complement lots of fruits and veggies~
i (usually) eat steak or chicken every day as a main course with green beans/broccoli/carrots/potatoes as sides it gets really boring
