Is 1h shield still better than 2h
Post RED for heroes. I've always wanted to go 1h sword maye axe if its cheaper. But the problem is that I don't know how much they cost. Like how much a 20 Att shield is or 15 the least with some STR % on it. I guess I could pick up a cutlass and try to scroll it with the rumored unlimited scrolls so that would be 1 problem checked off. How is the gap between 1h vs 2h now? I heard that even the 2h is better now. But to be honest I don't think I'd be able to hit cap with 70% STR

2-handed axes are the cheapest weapons out there, next to spears and 2h-blunt weapons (why no one likes explorer warriors, idk)
as others have mentioned, the higher multiplier makes it worth it, and the cost.
For a hero, not going two handed makes little to no sense. Surely the speed level is one higher but with unlimited near, the higher multiplier will make quite the difference and makes it easier to reach a greater range. Speed can always be compensated as well by hidden abilities and decent si .
For a paladin on the other hand, they miss out on certain defensive skills by going two handed. So with a pally at least, its more so a choice to go slightly more offensive and hit harder or remain more defensively oriented at the cost of a lower multiplier.
@Merchanting at least of paladins I know that outside of capping situations 2h will out dmg 1h.

I always thought that 1h + shield was better but I'm hopelessly lost ever since the secondaries came

I'm semi funded. I have some really crap equips but at the same time I have decent equips ( at least I consider it to be okay) like 10% STR shoes. I have about 700mil atm but I'm trying to merch higher
