You're talking about Battle Mages? I think same color auras cancel each other out while different color ones stack. They affect different stats anyways, so it would be pointless to have them negate each other. Kinda like Beholder.

@taeilmoon: Auras last 'till you log out. I'm fairly sure they stay even after you die.
