Crazy online game organizations?
Hey, does anyone remember that old guild from back in the day called the BF Police? Remember how they used to DC people repeatedly for fighting Bigfoot? Now that I think about it, despite it being frustrating and horrible at the time, it's kind of cool now. The whole idea that players can police a game brutally despite having no administrative power is really fascinating.
I think I want to write an article for Cracked about insane MMO organizations. So, does anyone know of a horribly corrupt guild, group, etc.--past or present--from an online game that lives in utter infamy? I'd love to get more information.

I think I read a Cracked article about a guy on EVE Online who started a bank, and then after a lot of people were using his bank he just took off with all the money, bought the most powerful spaceship in the universe, put a gigantic bounty on his own head, and just cruised around trolling.
That's actually an interesting idea.

It's more like annoying, rather than tormenting. Watching one person steal every single FM1 spot and possessing an ego that revolved over a 2D sidescroller really pissed me off.

You're better off looking at Eve Online. Maplestory's most "corrupt" guilds/alliances are a joke compared to what happens in Eve.
