Was that necessary?

TS asked a question, so I gave a simple reply.
Your referring to the principle of reversibility. However i said the two day thing because when you are active everything you do burns more calories as a result of you exercising often. While it is still possible to lost weight exercising without doing it often it goes a lot faster if you do do it often. Furthermore at two days you start going backwards and that doesn't mean you need to do high intensity workouts every single time. So if you exercised 5 days a week but not the weekend its really like you exercised 4 day a week. Lastly I'm not going to even start with the McD argument. If you really want the truth go do research cause its all there.
It seems like you didn't go to the research. Also it takes me sometimes 3 days just to recover from weight training per muscle group, so unless you're working out like a house wife which consists of yoga mainly, which by the way gives little to no results, I don't see how you can regress in 2 days.
Exercising more won't make you lose fat faster, you can only go so much below your TDEE before your body starts to burn muscle and slow the metabolism. Exercising only helps you eat more while losing the same amount of fat, that is obviously assuming your diet is in check.

try not to eat as much processed foods basically the frozen meals like frozen pizza and such. look up on youtube "afterburn workouts" basically the burn calories for i think the next 24 hours after your done.
Some quick advice that isn't common knowledge

Make sure you exercise at the vary least every other day. As it takes only two days for the body to regress into "unfit" mode.

Get a calorie counter. Even if it isn't super accurate you will be more aware of what you eat.

Get involved in interval training. The basic definition is to switch between a low intensity exercise to a high intensity exercise and repeat. Example. Walk, Run, Walk, Run, repeat. Google interval training for more info.

Make sure you switch up workouts. You wont be as efficient if all you do it run. Swimming, Sports, even weightlifting will help(girls will never get "big" unless taking steroids).

Also Make sure you eat healthy. Try to gradually stop eating empty calories like soda and fast food. If you can go cold turkey. (warning you may feel different or sick if you drastically change your diet. If this happens if possible see a doctor but most likely it would just be your cells are working harder.)

Also don't expect to lose super quickly. At first you will cause its all water weight but it will slow down drastically but don't give up and keep at it.

Last thing is to make sure to drink plenty of water and don't starve yourself. If you don't your body will go into starve mode and keep every single ounce it possibly can.

O and Good luck
wut. Two days to regress to unfit mode? Da hell.
It doesn't work like that. If you have been training for years or months you won't get "unfit" even if you don't train a week and possibly a month or more if it's a few years of training. What is unfit anyway? Do you mean losing all your gains or something? Sometimes it takes a few days to recover if you're working out intensely enough.

Also interval training is great for overall stamina, but strictly for calorie burn it's not that good. The "after burn effect" is not that big either.
As for healthy it doesn't matter what food you eat, what matters is the macros if you're talking about body composition. You can eat at McDonald's every day and still lose fat and retain or gain muscle. Of course healthy food is healthier (obviously), but strictly for fat loss and or muscle gain it doesn't even matter.

Work out with her even if you dont need it yourself she'll feel better if you do. She doesnt have to cut her favortie foods be if she doesnt want to but to make sire to excercise afterwards. Btw tell her to eat more chicken then work it out.

Most of this stuff is common knowledge, but:

Keep a food journal and drink lots of water for starters.
Don't go overboard with starches like bread, corn, potatoes, rice, etc.
Try eating less red meat.
Actually, just try to balance out your intake of different food groups in general.
Eat breakfast.
Don't starve yourself. Your body will attempt to compensate for the lack of nutrition by slowing your metabolism.
Exercise! Switch up the exercises too.

At the end of the day, weight loss is in the hands (or the fork) of the individual. Unless you're holding her hand and preparing her meals, your effort will only go to waste. srs, it's her habits that caused her to gain weight, and you're only in a position to correct them if they need motivation or they already have the motivation and need advice.
Giving advice to someone who only SORT OF wants to lose weight, or at least doesn't value it over gobbling food, is a lost cause.
-If she drinks pop, cut that from the diet- it's a lot of empty calories.
-Switch to foods that are low on the glycemic index scale- they'll keep you feeling fuller longer, and thus eat less.
-Drink lots of water

Exercise daily- even if it's just walking a bit, it's still better than nothing at all.
thanks that alot of great ideas

Oh, this'll be hard on her, but she needs to change her diet habits. If not diet habits, her workout habits. Or else she'll end up like me, the forever sloth.
