How to spray paint on printer paper?

I was wondering if there are any ways or techniques where I could use acrylic spray paint to paint on paper that's folded into a 3-d shape without having the paper becoming too wet/deformed.

If you're good you can do just really light coats. Like quickly spray it and let it dry... spray another part.. let it dry ..etc.

Also there are probably other methods like air brushing that could work better but its also quite expensive. You can also looking into putting on a layer of gesso (with a brush) and giving it a protective layer before you add spray paint.

use a brush to apply it lightly and wait for it to dry at each bit.

or switch to bristol paper.
