Unless your damage is bad then you should probably be 1-2 hitting everything in second job anyways. What's the point of doing extra damage when they'll die from weaker attacks? Yellow aura boosts your attacking speed and mobility which means you'd be able to kill more monsters in that same amount of time. More monsters killed equals more experience earned over time.
Even if you two hit monsters with dark chain + quad blow, the damage from dark chain will always be outshined and you're really only using it for the snatch effect. The point is, dark chain is meant to be a technique that leads to your main damage dealer. Based on my own second job experience, I put one point into yellow aura after booster just to see how it worked. I've never used dark aura while training since then
If you can one hit the things that you train on, go with yellow aura. If you need multiple hits to kill them, go with dark chain I suppose. The speed from yellow aura is useful on big maps (especially ones that aren't just a flat area), but the most useful part of yellow aura is the weapon attack speed it gives. This allows you to kill monsters faster and move around the map much faster, which therefore is speeding up your training rates. Dark chain isn't too terribly important in second job...(as a lot of people said, tele-slashing is the best method of training in second job), but in third job I've noticed advanced dark chain is much more useful. Honestly, in second job I only used dark chain as a "ranged attack", because I'd one hit everything with it anyways and never really got the effect

Considering yellow aura stacks with booster thats more attacking speed and speed > power. I personally maxed yellow aura first then dark chain.

Dark Chain > Yellow Aura. You don't really need the Speed from Yellow Aura since you can teleport.

The length of dark chain is very short, teleing and using finisher by the 3's or 2's is quicker
