Can I sing? Be Honest

I want to become a singer and I need honest opinions if I can sing or have potential. Be honest but please be serious and don't come just to hate; please realize this is someone's dream. I'm 16 and have never had any vocal training. Please listen all the way through before you give your opinion (it's only 50 seconds).

Vote & give suggestions please

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I realize I should work on hitting the higher notes. Does anyone know any songs that they think would be in my vocal range?
As a music major, I have a few questions

When did you start singing?
When did you decide you wanted to become a singer?
Do you know how to read sheet music?

You have a voice with potential, but if you really want to sing, you'd have to practice everyday, singing in the shower doesn't count much. It's always good to find a voice teacher, because if you go into college you will be required to sign of for private voice lessons, so why not start early? Voice lessons will vastly improve your voice, the instructor will usually go over how you shape your vowels, how you need to support your breath so you can sing longer, and they will go over some pedagogy (how your voice works)

Also if you're in middle school, or high school, it would be beneficial to join the choir, because that way you can improve your voice even more, and choir teachers will teach you how to read sheet music, write in solfege (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do) to go with the correct notes, and they may teacher you how to play a scale on the piano.

On the song, there were a few places that you were a bit flat, and the higher notes, I would say are not in your range yet. Right now I'd say you're in the baritone range, but as your voice develops more, you may branch out to be a Bass, or a Tenor. I'm a Tenor I, so I sing pretty high.

Also if you do decide to become a music major in college, you'll need to take a Music Theory, and an Aural Skills class, theory will go over chords, how to build them, how to write music in 16th, 17th, and 18th century part writing with the rules used in that time period. Aural Skills will have you sight singing (reading music with no written help).

Good luck with your voice devlopment, and most of all HAVE FUN!
Thanks, that was a lot of valuable information there. I'm definitely going to join my school choir next year, I just wanted to get more confidence in my ability first. And to answer your questions, I started singing when I was 13, I decided I wanted to become a singer in Fall last year, and no I don't know how to read a sheet of music but I'm definitely going to start learning!

Tbh that wasn't good at all. o.o
It seems like you try too hard to hit high notes and you slur a lot..
And if you can sing, you can't song professionally.

Your voice is a bit unclear and sounds like you are not even singing sometimes. You should sing songs that are suitable for your own vocal range like Photoshop said.

you need a better mic and maybe you shouldn't sing acapella

I think you could do a lot better
it wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it's amazing
If you want the honest truth... It was pretty bad.
alright, thanks for the feedback
i thought it was pretty good. try singing different songs too because like, not everyone is good at every song right? so try different types of songs and see what your voice goes best with. have u tried singing this a bit faster and a biit higher toned? i think it would sound good
alright, I'm gonna try that. Thanks
Your pretty good, you need better recording equipment though
Thanks, and very true. I did this on my iPhone lol
The song seems like you were trying a bit hard to hit the higher notes (or not at all). As the song is sung originally in a much higher key, I suggest you find songs suitable for your own vocal range. Keep trying harder.
Good advice, thank you. and I will!
