Don't Ask Don't Tell is repealed!
What are your thoughts on it?
I support the repeal, but I still don't like Obama for obvious reasons.
I already made a thread about this a while back, but I thank the 8 Republican senators for actually voting for what they believe to be right and not for voting based on party lines.
Well that is unusual. Like SNL said, the mission of the republicans in this congress is to prevent political wins for the democrats, even if they support Obama's policies or bills, just so they can make the opposing party loo bad.
In any case, I am glad DADT is repealed. It is a flat out discriminatory policy in the first place, and it outlived its usefulness.
If this is what the expert/Generals say is best for our army, then fine, I fully support it.
If it's going to somehow mess up unit cohesion, then I'm 100% against it.
Fortunately, it seems like most of the top brass in the army support the repeal, so I think we're in good shape.
Actually, since the only way to avoid mandatory service in Israel is either being ultra-religious or Arab (You can still volunteer though),Homosexuals served openly ever since homosexuality was legalized in 1988,and so far I've never heard of any drama related to it.
And @DeMoNiAk
I don't support Obama since he's clearly anti-Israel,ridiculing Israel in an Islamic and hostile (To Israel) state doesn't seem very neutral to me.

It's something like 81% of all troops feel that the repeal will either have no effect, or have a positive effect on cohesion. There was a study, I know it's above 70%. I'm guessing that the others think that it will completely revolutionize the military but it won't.

Next year: Republicans 'report' hundreds of thousands of straight men being attacked by gay men in the military, gays now fully banned from any military role.
