Idea to improve the economy of Maple

When (who am i kidding, if) Nexon releases new areas, there should be a huge tax before anyone can access it
(there would be no way an individual could pay for it)

The way the 'tax' would work is that there would be an NPC blocking access to the new area.
Everyone is then welcome to pay as much or as little as they want to the NPC until the area is unlocked. The meso would be accumulated by the NPC and then disappear when it gets enough meso to unlock the area.

I know the economy is too bad for this for this to completely work and we aren't getting new areas anytime soon (probably) but this may help a bit to slow inflation at least.
What do you guys think?

^^ I do, doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. the system as it is now is absurd. So unless changing the max mesos is "impossible" then it should have been raised a year ago!

increase max mesos to 500+ bil, increase mesos drops and start from scratch! in other words devalue the meso currency, sure people with items/NX will be protected but it would help.... the economy will be screwed up again in no time, but at least we will be able to pay for items with actual mesos!

^^ About consumer pessimism. that won't actually reduce the quantity of mesos in the economy
Its kinda too late to do much about the maple economy now, even by putting in more and more taxes, there will still be too much mesos going into the economy than going out due to botters, exploits both private and public, merchants and people using NX. Unless you put taxes at a minimum of like 200M(and for your idea; like 20b) then you won't see much of a change.

In addition, Nexon actually benefits from this. With a ridiculous NX:meso ratio, its more of an incentive for people to buy NX (Example; a newcomer sees people selling NX for 1:50, realises that with just that 1$ he can get 50M, so he goes and buys a 10K NX card, makes 500M). Since he has more spending power now, he'll go spend and the economy goes around again. Nexon benefits and the newbie THINKS he benefits when in reality, he doesn't.
I don't get it. Everyone can just pay 1 meso and enter the map. Or do you mean that nobody will be able to enter the map until an x amount of mesos is paid?

Edit: NVM read it again.

I think it's a good idea, but how much mesos do you think will be needed to be paid in order for this to be effective?
No idea actually.

why would a rich person pay as much as a poor person to enter the same area? the rich will remain rich and the poor will remain poor,

Use scare tactics to start consumer pessimism, where consumers don't want to spend because they're worried about the economy. Merchants will be forced to drop prices because no one is buying.

Here's an idea.
You know how nexon released that im a lucky guy medal that is being sold for billions?
Heres how it could work.

Each time you donate 10mil to this tax for new area thing, u go into the running for a freaking godly ass medal.
Make it super duper godly like 20 att medal.
So all those omg i so 1337 must get medal people will donate lots and lots of money.
the other people will be like, hm... i dont have much money to spare, but i still want to be in the running for the medal. so they all donate 10mil.
When the new area gets unlocked, the person will get the godly "i helped unlock area abc" medal. or something.

Well, assuming that the maple economy works just like the economy of the United States, we should indirectly start a war between two neighboring games, and when the war starts to get out of hand, we swoop down and ally ourselves with one of the games and then we dominate the other game, then after we have burnt all of their in game cities, we sell our maple products to them and our economy skyrockets.

There could also be a possibility of having a meso exploit, like what the exploiters did with the donation box.

I dont think its good If ur a merch then you would realize That Adding a tax like that
Would A.) make Merchs Feel angry and not spend any kind of money And B.) Because people losing money TO open the map prices soar
This is the same idea as taxing the rich It doesnt work
If we need to fix economy Nexon Has to Release a Event that can make people Really rich Which causes People to see Mesos Arent worth the same amount now a Days
And Hopefully deflate Or Switch Over to a new currancy system that works which is highly unlikely
