If you value dmg more than anything else or just want to start off with a character you can boss well with, go Marksman. Marksman and Bowmaster have their pros and cons but Marksman are becoming a little better in 1v1 now, at least until Nexon decides to upgrade Bowmasters again.

Unfortunately, videos nowadays arent evident enough for a genuine opinion or example because most who decide to make the videos on those classes are well above the average of what many are able to achieve in their gaming lifetimes. Its best to just try for yourself, nothing wrong with making both to try em, nothing stopping ya either. Have fun with it.

Bowmaster-640% on 6 enemies.
It is recommended that BMs never max Ultimate Inferno.
The problem is that Inferno is one hit which makes BMs "bad" at mobbing.
However, NLs need a boost as well
oh, so class merits are based solely on damage output now?

alright marksman, see if you can train at lhc like a cheapo using no hp pots, or push back bosses effectively, or show your beautiful face while standing without spending NX. or what if you want a mule to clear your knights of virtue event quest or annoyingly chew up durability equips within 2 hours of training? also, fun is subjective.
we push back bosses pretty well, we sit to show our face (its not like ppl oohs and ahhs others while bossing cept for their damage), 30 + 30% of the times mobs miss us in lhc, and idk what you said about the virtue event. See if you guys can rip through mobs like us
but then again, fun is subjunctive~

WITH HS ON MY BOWMASTER, I CAN TRAIN WAY FASTER THAN HEROES HURR DURR

...no, you can't pull that crap out

First things first, your example is HORRIBLE!

and remember SI is a skill that can be obtained by potential and lets not forget the mutiny update that made Buccaneer far more common and us marksmen can abuse the SI. ok

I'm pretty sure she's saying that if we both had SI, marksman would be better since SI doesn't effect hurricane. . . . .

And "WITH HS ON MY BOWMASTER, I CAN TRAIN WAY FASTER THAN HEROES HURR DURR" Is just a bad example since you could say that with every class.

MAKE ME! with speed infusion, marksman's Ultimate strafe gets to hurricane speed and with snipe out damages Bowmasters 1v1 and we all know Bowmaster mobbing is Horsepoop while Marksmans wipe the floor to most classes when it comes to mobbing
Bowmasters are the second worst mobbers in the game and hurricane is overshadowed by rapid fire.

Marksmen are good mobbers even with the charge time, and ultimate strafe is pretty good, although you might think it's overshadowed by octopunch

hmmmm you got a point but holding a button down does not seem all that fun specally if it is sub par to the other hurricane like skills
Marksman is superior in every way, but fun is subjective so you might like the enjoyable style of holding the hurricane key for 15min while watching a show
and bowmasters mobbing is ...BLEH

Marksman on the other hand they hit fairly high numbers with EH funding, and PIERCING ARROW IS BEAST you will love it
It might help if you watch some youtube videos of godly MM and BM.
Overall, MM is better.

Flip a goddamn coin.
Fun is a subjective matter.
Both do quite a decent amount of damage (except for lolBMmobbing).
