Majoras Mask Prequel?

Well gearing up for Skyward Sword i began replaying all my Zelda games again. I just completed Majora's Mask and it reminded me why its my all time favorite Zelda. Its deep story, its fleshed out characters, its mysterious antagonist. The story behind each area of the game intrigued me but left me with so many questions, especially surrounded the Fierce Deity, Majora, and Ikana Kingdom. While finishing up MM i began to think of what it would be like if they made a prequel to this game? Well here's what i came up with.

The Legend of Zelda: Origins of Darkness

This game would be centered around Termina and be a prequel to Majoras Mask, hundreds of years before the Hero of Time steps foot on its land. It would be focusing on the origins of the Fierce Deity and Majora and the story behind the Ikana War. Termina itself will also be expanded as seeing it being so small, adding more are behind what is currently Ikana and the Southern Swamp. Possibly home to the Garo's home region (seeing as Garo's were spies from Ikana's enemy nation) The map would possibly be split into West and East Termina. Ikana would become a central point in the game, with main plot points revolving around its war and the Stone Tower. Clock Town also would not have existed yet. The incarnation of Link(Well not really an incarnation as it would not make sense seeing as what SS has put forth, but more of the one we would characterize as a Link character in a typical Zelda title) in this story will be who becomes the Fierce Deity.

Majora and the Fierce Deity were both servants of the Golden Goddesses and deemed Demi-Gods. Majora was granted God status while the Fierce Deity was not, in anger and selfishness the Fierce Deity rejected the Golden Godesses and left in order to obtain the powers of the Gods himself(Spirit Tracks anyone? Lol), Majora on the other hand became corrupted with his power and was banished but still managed to retain some of his powers. Majora, being corrupted, fooled its followers into believing it was still a God and taught them to reject the Golden Godesses, and who were its followers? The Ikana, a mighty nation that had the entire Western Termina under its rule at the time. Its Royal Family and citizens were fooled into worshiping Majora and thus built the Stone Tower as housing for it and in rejection of the Golden Godesses.

The Garo would become followers of the Fierce Deity not for his God status but for his status as a Warrior, because of the Fierce Deity's sourness towards Majora(for being granted God status) he ordered the Garo to spy on the Ikana which led to the all out war between the two. At stories end Majora and Fierce Deity duel, and at its weakest Fierce Deity orders that no traces of either him or Majora be left so that their history would not be remembered, but seeing as they had the power of God's they were unable to be completely destroyed so they resorted to seal them within Masks instead. This would also lead to the adoption of the Garo dying with no trace left behind seeing as they followed the Fierce Deity.

The Ikana lost the war with the Garo as they had lost there so called "God" and had no power left. Only in death did they realize their rejection of the Golden Godesses was wrong, unfortunately the Garo had already taken control of the Stone Tower(not knowing its implications of blasphemy) and were unable to destroy what they created for repentance, thus they were cursed to walk the land of the living as the dead. The Garo sealed the two Masks within the deepest bowels of the Stone Tower never to be seen again(as to erase their history as FD had asked), which would explain how Majora got hold of the Fierce Deity mask when he was freed in MM as it was locked away with him.

The regions of the Zora's, Goron's, and Deku's will also come into play somehow as will the other regions in Eastern Termina although I haven't fleshed out the idea's behind this yet. This story would delve into a much darker and mature tone than any Zelda before it, and rather than follow the traditional "good guy saves the day" storyline the story would be about a wicked Demi-God's(Fierce Deity) thirst to obtain the power of a God, but once obtaining that power realizing there was a greater evil at hand (Majora) thus becoming the lesser of two evils.

This story was just a quick mock up that popped in my head at 4:15 in the morning so my brain really wasn't at its peak performance. But I hope you guys enjoy this little fan-fic and would actually like it if you could add your own ideas to flesh out the story even more. Also imagine it in HD as the Wii U title, everyone would get their Mature HD Zelda that they've been clamoring for haha. I kid I kid.
But there is a prequel for MM. It's called Ocarina of Time. =P
Well i meant prequel to its story line We ventured into Termina not knowing much about it and left with even more questions. Just like how Skyward Sword is addressing all the questions left in OoT this game could address the questions to MM

Sounds legit.

I didn't read all of it, but it could make a good game.
