Bishop

Questions from somewhat new Bishop

So I started playing the game a while ago, I made a Bishop, and I just got to level 100, I know that's still not very high, but I wanted to wait to ask my questions until I had a bit of experience with the class.

First of all how much % should I go for on my equips? between my weapon, my overall, my hat, and my earring I have 24% INT which brings it up to a bit over 750 INT, and I'm not sure if that's high or low for my character's level, mostly I want to know if that's good enough for now.

Secondly for the Root Abyss place what level should I be before I try getting into parties for it? or is it a bad idea for me? I have over 2K HP when buffed, but a guide I read said you have to have around 9K HP to survive the attacks of the bosses which seems like an absolutely impossible number for me to achieve.

Third, is there an easy way to get Angel Ray? do you have to try to fight Zakum to get it?

Thanks for any help! there is a good deal of grinding, but I am greatly enjoying the game and doing party quests with people.

@DangerousEyes: Totally not true.....
@pikmintaro:

Bishops my be a support class, but by no means are we limited to just such, It will cost mesos, and plenty of time, yes we have a lot of potential. Especially with our hypers. But for the time being our main atking/ mobbing skill being Angel ray, definitely work on getting at least a point into it, then max Advanced bless, its a quick dmg boost, Spell mastery not only to give your buffs a longer durations but again an additional dmg boost, then your biggest increase in dmg will be arcane aim, wil its def ignore, stacking dmg boost.
As for equips just slowly start upgrading, for instance make earings, if you get a decent % int ones keep em, and sell the rest thus, not only upgrading but building funds, the more you boss, of course you will be able to not only have more to sell, but the possibility of of course up grading.
Currently im lvl 190. I am a bishop... I have full empress, made the funds how i listed above... i have 35% int, around 410ma, 40% boss, 40% pdr.... i hit innitially 200k a line of ar, then after infinity, and aa, i hit 650k a line... its totally possible, so dont let others drag you down, it will take time be patient... and start building

Have any more questions just pm me ill be more then happy to give you more tips

To improve your HP you can try using the Character Card effects or getting a Kaiser to lv 70 to get the Link Skill (+10% HP). You can also buy the Empress Set, they are quite cheap and they improve a lot your Def and HP

Like @above said take up mining. Then go and abuse that free tele rock and go to deserted maps and wander around for heart stones.

You can find them in the FM for really cheap because no one uses Power Crystals, or take up mining or ask someone to farm the Red Veins!
Ok sorry one more question!

On the Alcaster quest how do you get the Power Crystals? the Dances with Balrogs guy said to get them from monsters around the area, but I can't find any!
I think all the crystals you can get from crafting now. Just ask a miner?
currently root abyss, zak, and hilla all drop skill books. Also, when you get to maxing arcane, ar, ab, and infinity, you can actually be a decent attacker
Dont forget buff mastery that handy little passive give a nice boost too
Alcaster has a quest line that lets you buy rocks for 5k ea. Might take a little bit of time, but worth it overall. also, i have like 9% int at my level for reference
With the free Tele rock it shouldn't take that long.
OT: You might also consider Hilla if you can find people to take you along. I believe she drops skill books still.

Well, I'll be honest with you.

Right now bishops can't really do any decent mobbing or bossing so I'll wouldnt bother to fund my bishop.
My bishop items are hardly even scrolled or potted, but I still got it to level 190 and hopeing to get to 200 soon.
What I would do is spend my money on a more decent attacking class, yet I wouldnt give up on angel ray 30 and AB 30, you dont even need MW 30 but that would never hurt ;]
Make sure you learn how to survive with it on the hardest terms and try to be as lag free as you can is elso very very importent.
And rememebr that the key is not how funded your bishop is, but how well do you control it and "understand" and idea behind it. It's not an attacker class, its the only support class on maplestory and should be very respected for that!

One last thing, as a bishop youll get alot od chances to illegal activits such as hsing hackers or earning thing for hs and such,
NEVER do it. Bishop class has gone dirty, and I think that our class should stay pure and legit.

Good luck!

Ehhh ok I guess I'll just stick with Shining Ray for now, and I'll wait till a higher level for Root Abyss also, it just looked like a lot of fun to me.

I have one more question! where is a good place to get Magic Rocks for Magic door without having to buy them? they seem kind of expensive, also I still would like to know what is a good amount of %int to have at my level, but thanks for all the help!
How much money does it cost though? I only have around 120 mill right now.

And I guess I will just wait to try Root Abyss, that's the guide I was talking about that said you need to have like 9k hp for it.
about 150mil due to the need of SoK
you dont need 9k hp just try your best to avoid the attacks
you can also get friends to help you do the killing, just stand by with dispel and heal and let them do the killing :]
im going to do it with a friend later even though i only have 5k hp

read through the guide and remember the attack patterns
