You are pregnant

If you knew your child was going to be born with a severe mental or physical disability that would render them useless to society, would you still have the baby?

@xXSyKoXx: I have had friends have have been in these services and trust me, they hated it. These services don't have the resources necessary to look out for all of these babies.
If a mother wants to abort the baby then who am i to appose, given she follow the law.
There are enough babies, but no enough people demanding them. If there were not enough babies, then there wouldn't be so many people in these services.

Depends on what my wife would want. If it's a 100% chance that they won't provide any use to society, I would just abort since I wouldn't be willing to pay the money to support them for as long as I lived. It may sound cruel, but I think it's practical.
No, I wouldn't. But then again, I would be the father, and the mother is supposed to decide...

I would still put it up for adoption.

And I think it might be too late for legal abortion if you can already tell if the baby has a disability.
What about the idea that it's better to have been born disabled than not to be born at all?

nope

@VileLunatic no kidding. people who are answering for the belief that they'd be doing the 'morally' right thing aren't thinking about the big picture of the situation.

@fun2killu: There's not enough babies to fill the demand. There are literally 10's of thousands of people all across the country on the waiting list for babies to raise as their own. Aborting perfectly healthy babies and not giving them a chance to turn into people and enrich the lives of these wanting parents is wrong. Using the excuse "it's not easy to adopt a child" is a cop-out rationalization to feel better about killing an unborn child that is wanted by another couple.

I would keep the child..because I am their mom..and I cannot abort my own child unless I was rappd.

compassion is key, id still have the child even though im against having a baby that was not intended to be made. the only time i would not have a baby and abort it is in a r@pe situation.

na i would drop it.
@xxsykoxx: its not easy to adopt a child. there are many legal issue you have to do amount other various things. Even with people adopting there still are thousands of children in foster care. They already have enough on their platter, don't make it worse.

(I'm a guy), but no, I wouldn't because I wouldn't want my child to live a life of suffering. Actually, I'm not sure. They might still be happy living that way, but yeah... :x.

Nope. But if it was just a hoar that didn't know how to take a pill or close her damn legs, I wish there was a law that made them have the kid, even if just to put the baby up for adoption for the 10's of thousands of others out there waiting for babies that can't have them on their own.
