Your Favorite Fourth Job

Hey there, I was just curious to know what classes in your own opinion you guys find the most fun during levels 100-170 specifically.
It doesn't have to be your main exactly but anything that you enjoyed training fourth job throughout.

Thanks alot!

@Pharaohs: Definitely enjoyed the marksman while it lasted. I would recommend it to others who want to play something unique.

@CherryTigers: Ah, I see. Yeah that seems about right xD I see i see. How did you find the training of Marksman? Did you find the gameplay fun or was it nice and unique?
@MegaF6 sorry to hear that man, but you should! I was thinking of it myself!

@megaf6 Ah that's nice haha. What about after RED? How are you feeling about that? And I just want the old animation back for my Nightlord xD
I'm not a fan of post-red Bowmaster. Don't like either new attack skills we got. Unfortunetly I have no want to play my bowmaster, which is sad considering he was one of my first characters.

I like the Corsair changes though, might give them a try.

@Pharaohs: Phantoms have a passive of around 30% I believe. In RED, we get a +5%. Also, our link skill affects us too. Level 120+ Phantoms have 15% extra crit. Also, level 198, we get a hyper skill for +10% critical. We have plenty to begin with, but getting 100% is essential for a Phantom.

I was hitting 999,999 per snipe. My strafe was doing around 400k I believe. My piercing arrow was doing 500k-1.5m per line on HoH mobs.
Was not amazingly funded. I only hit 500k per line on hilla with snipe, but I decided to dump the equips since I needed a big upgrade.

@kiue oh I get what youre saying but Im just wondering, by that last part you said but that just makes the iob.. You mean it gets boring or something? Way too easy? D:

@hyhfct ah I see, I wanted to make one myself because of the hyperskill haha. As for Zero I cant wait to give it a try myself! It looks fun and interesting

@SoulStreak ah thank you for the detailed explanation but yeah i can definitely see MP being an issue early on.

@CherryTigers Oh was that why? Did you have moderate funds at the time of RLH or what? Was it the strafe hitting less than 1mills and stuff thats why? And when you say you funded your MM to hit 999ks was that with strafe and how much did it change after unleashed? I see that makes sense I get what you're saying though xD
How did you end up going to your Phantom, because they just seemed to catch your eye at the time?

As for your critical rate dont Phantoms already have a fairly high amount to begin with?:O

@Pharaohs: The main reason was actually due to the fact that I was greatly disappointed in my damage output.

Around that time, I decided to do red leaf high and I spent around 60k nx on it to get all the way up to that level. (I did grind in LHC, SH, and HoH a few times) But after that, RLH was gone and the unleashed patch came. I was disappointed after seeing people's damages shoot past the roof when I was still hitting 1m or less with the same skills.

I funded my marksman to hit 999,999 and nothing past that. So I realized my equips were "bad." (I'm not bragging about being rich.) When I say they were "bad," what I mean is that I could not "upgrade" those "bad" equips. I had to sell those "bad" equips and buy entirely new ones that were upgrade-able. What I'm aiming to say is that there were limitations in the Nova equips that I had. I had to sell my nova equips and aim for Tyrants. Same with my loveless xbow, I had to sell it to get fafnir.

Of course, in the course of that time, after stripping my marksman to sell everything, I reunited with my desire to power up my Phantom. So sadly, I never got my marksman to level 200 for that. The marksman was an old character of mine, that I played in pre big bang and got to level 85 before quitting. I leveled him up for old time's sake and now I'm ready to make my Phantom amazing.

Of course, my marksman is still assisting me, in the fact that his character card is allowing me to get closer to 100% critical for the Phantom.
Demon Slayer. Very fun play style but with the new low fury requirements on all fury-required skills just killed it. Requires far too low and too easy to play. Everyone would love spam-able Demon Cry if they were a DS but that just makes the job

Funner before the fury requirement change.
This is exactly what turned me away from my DS.

@Pharaohs: the heal is a skill, when you use it heals you for 40% hp and has a 15 second cool down but you don't max it so it's more like 35%/20sec cd but completely irrelevant since you barely need it. However you might need a lot of mp pots at early 4th job with charge blow's 30 mp cost as a warrior.

@Pharaohs: I think Wind Archer is next on my list, since I want to see how their Hyper Skills are like. Other than that, I'm going bandwagon on Zero~ The skills look pretty cool; but I still need to do some research on it xD.

@SoulStreak Yeah youre completely right about OP snipe spam xD thanks thats good to hear

Wow I didn't know they had such an amazing invincibility buff! Thats pretty sweet, especially with buff duration you could make that last longer! Yeah sacrosanct huh? That is pretty wicked though! Ah that makes plenty of sense with the two guards activating differently. And by 40% hp heal do you mean it has 40% chance or how do you know how much it heals?
Youre right about not dying lol
That is pretty neat though, after those 2 skills are maxed you can do whatever i like the sound of that! Thanks for your help though I appreciate it

@hyhfct Thats nice! Sorry to hear about your account being banned D: and yeah my first class in Maple was a Bishop, was fun
Yeah im lucky that another benefit would just be to wait for RED. I haven't really been playing just keeping up with the news about stuff lol
Aside from your Bishop and Xenon, what would make it next on your list? Thanks for your help!

@itoldyounoob thanks for your opinion!
@cherrytigers just wondering why did you stop your marksman at that level? Did it just get too boring for you and you lost interest?

@okaythen: Wow, now that you mention it, I know exactly how you feel. Back when I was training to 160 to move to SH, my marksman was in LHC. In there, sometimes I was facing only 1 monster, and using ulti strafe + 5 sec snipe was really a joy tbh.

My marksman never made it to 195 since I stopped at 191, but when the level switch came to 155, it did make me stop unconsciously too.

The xenon books have dropped tremendously, but the books are still expensive. It's around 60-80m for a xenon 20 book and 20-30m for a 30 book in GAZED from what i've seen.
Xenon's are pretty fun to me. Beam dance is a lot of fun, and mecha purge having 3 different options is great. I actually enjoy using the 2nd and 3rd job skills too time to time xD.
I wouldn't say its my favorite class, but it's a decent char to play. I actually prefer Dualblades, Mercedes, and Kaisers though. Their attack skills are fun

@Pharaohs: My new bishop is currenty at level 182 and I created it sometime during May... I made a new one because my main acc is banned and I really liked playing Bishop because being wanted is nice . As for the Xenon books, most books for newer classes are always expensive, but I'm not so sure about them now since I haven't been to FM for a while, and not to mention the book shop that is going to come out during RED, so the prices should be lower.

@CherryTigers: I was in the 180s when they moved snipe to 155. I never really was the training type of guy so I usually went on hilla and zakum runs with friends. The thing I miss the most is using ultimate strafe and every now and again hitting with snipe. It felt so cool hitting a really powerful shot after a few ultimate strafes. Now it's just snipe snipe snipe. I know there is high speed shot to I guess 'replace' snipe, but it just doesn't feel the same. Because of that, I stopped playing marksman and moved onto different classes.
Piercing is still heaps of fun to use though.
Also, it's great to know you have the same favourite 4th job classes as me!

@Pharaohs: Snipe spam at 155 is downright OP regardless and Illusion was fixed.

The pally invincibility is from divine shield, also gives 30 attack and has a master level of 10 so maxed at 103 lol. Basicly when you get hit you have a (high) chance of gaining an invincibility buff that lasts 90 seconds or 15 hits. Depending on luck / standing on stuff it almost always lasts 90 sec. this effect has a 120 sec cooldown. Roughly 75% uptime. Also at 150 you get an on demand 30sec invincibility and damage buff as a hyper. Neither effect can be dispelled.

the % damage reducers are: power guard (50%, 2nd job), shield mastery (10% guard chance and triple armor, 3rd job, passive), self heal (40% hp heal on a 15sec cd), achilles in 4th job (-15% damage, passive) and Guardian (40% guard chance, -20% status/elemental, basicly shadow shifter with elemental guard) Paladins take the least amount of damage out of all classes. Do note the 2 guards are seperate abilities so you have a 10% chance AND a 40% not a 50%.

one does not simply die as a pally.

A smallish perk to pally is you're only real attacks to max in 4th job are blast and ACB. 30 points for blast 10 for acb. So after about 112-115 after that you can basicly max what ever you want with no real penalties. Want guardian? max it. want stance? max it.
Marksman is really fun until 155. Spammable snipe ruined marksman for me.
So it'll probably be paladin, buccaneer and bowmaster for me.
I haven't played cosair or any of the mages to 4th job though.
I agree with what you said about paladin, buccaneer and bowmaster. Those are my top picks too!

As for marksmen's spammable snipe:
Even if you have spammable snipe at 155, it's completely useless. As a marksman, you will continue using piercing arrow until level 200. The only moment spammable snipe is useful is if you do Dimensional invasion and have to kill those 2 weak bosses.

Either that, or if you Dojo. Maybe the azwan towers need spammable snipe. Besides that, you will be using piercing arrow.

Demon Slayer was the best for me. Before 4th you got like one attack and a demon slash upgrade, but at 4th you get demon impact, cry, and infernal concussion as well as a slash upgrade. Plus dark metamorphosis, boundless rage, and leech aura. And after you have mastered all those skill they get some great hyper skills.

@SoulStreak Ah yeah, you as well as me liked the uniqueness and awesomeness of it haha. Totally makes sense. I get it.
Wow, thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Unfortunately I was never able to make mine that far, just up to third job. What did you mean by straight invincibility at 100? and 90/120 second for what skill? But regardless, still sounds amazing

As for the Marksman stuff yeah that makes sense. Just wondering does illusion step work right now or is it still glitched? How are Marksman in comparison to them Xenon's after their nerf on their 1v1? Still the same considering their Beam Dance was nerfed or was it not that? I know that feeling of Frostprey haha, I have a Marksman but I'm not that far into the job.

@hyhfct Oh oh, haha I never knew that! hahaha makes sense now. I was so confused I thought I like broke the machine or had to do something.. LOL , ah thanks for clarifying and I know, I've heard its been tough and harder now D: Haha, cool you remade a Bishop just to live up to the fun of it or what? What level is your new Bishop and when did you create it? :O As for the Xenon skills I understand what you mean. Aren't books expensive for that class to begin with?

@megaf6 Ah that's nice haha. What about after RED? How are you feeling about that? And I just want the old animation back for my Nightlord xD
@timesealer62 That's nice haha I plan on trying them one day

@Pharaohs: After like a minute or so the machine is supposed to "shut down" just to annoy people LOL. You could get Jr. Boogies at Perion. I've been at 162 for about... 2 or 3 weeks... since they removed LHC leveling has been harder and the fastest way is Evo and Dimension Invasion. I guess compared to my newest Bishop, my Bishop is definitely easier since everyone loves Bishops for their HS and whatnot, so they would add me to their party and as long as I HS them I'm good. . I found Xenon very enjoyable the first few levels because there were so many new skills and I couldn't wait to max them all out, but not I can't find any more books, and not to mention leveling is harder, so I kinda just got bored of Xenon. o.o

@Pharaohs: Because I became a paladin pre big bang. There were less than 20 in mardia at the time (less were actually known). it was one of the hardest and unrewarding things you could do in maplestory and I did it. Then UA came and white knights were overpowered as heck so paladins flooded the server. Never really looked back.

atm pallys are easy to train and cheap, they use no potions after 70ish and you'll probably never use a health potion after 80 except for bossing. def capped at 130, self heal, 50% damage cut at 30, another 10%? at 70, 15% at 100 and a straight invincibility at 100 with 75% uptime (90/120sec) give or take. damage is fairly decent with highest mastery in game self buffed (97%). at 140 I have 18k hp and 1/1 leaves me with about 12k lol. Zakum's attacks do about 200 damage and his arms do 1 touch.

As for marksman you use a fairly high amount of potions till you max your 4th job defensives (150ish). afterwards still a decent amount. The off set is amazing mobbing and near unbeatable 1v1 after 155 (kaiser and xenon are only better 1v1.). at relavent grind areas you should 1hko most enemies and have frostprey finish straglers creating very fluid and fun training (charge pierce while waking, jump, fire, repeat.).
@Pharaohs: Afk in the middle of Evo lab 3 where the monster magnet machine is for 30 mins. Having a Jr. Boogie to heal your MP saves you from manually healing yourself from time to time . It might be boring if you actually want to do something on your Xenon, but on the bright side you can do something other than sit and hold down a button . If you don't like afkin' and spamming you could also do PQs, which will be really fast since Xenon is so OP . Also in Dimension Invasion you can hold down the key for Bean Dance and just move around to where the mobs are. Those are the main places where I trained my Xenon, and yes it gets repetitive after a while...which explains why my Xenon is still 162.
Ah yeah haha that makes plenty sense. By the way do you have any idea why every few mins or so they stop coming to the center of the machine? That sounds really great and all since you can wreck through the monsters and all. The boogie I would probably need to buy since I don't have it xD but yeah haha cool yeah they are definitely OP and that sounds prettay easy haha. How long have you been sitting at 162? How is it compared to other classes youve leveled? I know that might be different since you might have leveled them months ago but how are you finding it personally?^^

A great thanks to the posters above,
@SoulStreak Yeah i completely agree with you there. I've known that was a serious case and the same goes for Paladins with respect haha.
Why did UA Paladin kill it for you? How are you finding your training and where are you training? A lot of pot burn or what?

@hyhfct haha that definitely sounds fun but how do you find training? Is it repetitive?

@okaythen Aw sorry to hear that Did spamming it just get too boring?
Thanks for your input! I guess you like evasive classes that are somewhat tanky?

Personally: marksman. Still a class that has managed to stay rare even during it's super OP BAMF status. It hasn't been a weak class since pre big bang (maybe 4th job even) and manages to have a unique play style that I find entertaining. For ages simply being a marksman earned you respect.

A close second would be Paladin for simular reasons (Ua killed pally for me).
