The new power guard?

As BB came a lot of things have changed in maple, one thing though I don't understand how it works...Before the patch (well for me because i had quit but yeah) before i came back which was the day BB came out i believe, My crusader skills were changed but for some odd reason my power guard doesn't seem to work? Or am I doing something wrong? Before, Power guard use to return 40% touch damage back to the monster 20% to bosses (I believe. Don't quote me on this). I would walk into a monster it would hit me and I would return damage to it. But now when I hit a monster with my body, instead of seeing damage returned like before I just see a blue "1" Say the monster hits 1000 on me, the new PG "returns" 50% think? But instead I see a blue "1". What am I missing here because I don't understand the concept of power guard anymore...
I can confirm this. There is an animation glitch but the actual damage returned is correct.
Yeah I tested it, brought a monster to low hp and then my PG killed it.
Yup, I remember back then when I was training on Dual Ghost Pirates and those destroyed the majority of my income thanks to their ridiculous touch damage. Nowadays, you can pretty much get away with gaining mesos instead of losing them while training.
Yup. The only thing now is since everything's changed, I need a new grinding spot to 120...
Yeah, that's right. That's exactly what it did before the Big Bang patch. I'm not even sure if the altered Power Guard returns damage to the monster, though it still reduces a substantial amount of damage and knockback taken.
You're right I have noticed that the damage received is drastically decreased. But I don't see the monster itself losing much hp from the so called "Returned damage" Doesn't matter to me though since crusaders have brandish now at 3rd job, we can kill easily. What it seems to me is that they made everything less of a pot burner?
