Thief Class Change

Thief Forum Talk about Thief

handyman13 Level 200 Khaini Blade Master
Ive been thinking about changing it up once again. I first started out with a shadower and then changed to DB. After playing for a long time with my DB i decided to change to a NL. Now im stuck thinking about changing again and cant decide that if i do change what to pick. Ive been thinking more for bossing since my NL is 151 and im starting to try to fund it. I need opinions for what should be done, or just simple compares between each class to get a better understanding for bossing. As I say this now Ive never had a bossing class and would love to have my first bossing main. Thanks for your cooperations on reading this and making comments trying to help me, and also giving your opinion as a poll is nice too. Everyone who reads this have a blessed day and days to come. Thanks once again!

Choosing a class probably depends on funding if you're mainly planning to boss. The cheapest of the three would probably be NLs. If you have a good amount of funds, couple ten bils, then investing in a DB wouldn't be bad. Shads require a LOT of funding to become strong bossers, but can easily surpass NLs and DBs in dps if you can cap.

NLs are easier to boss with, because they are easy to control and are ranged. Golluxing is easy because your Mark will auto-target the spawns, letting you focus the head, outside of its breath range. By being ranged, you can dodge most skills, especially in RA, because you can see it coming. However, compared to the other two thieves, they're very squishy.
DBs probably can out dps NLs with couple tens of bils of funding, but require more skill. Knowing when to use bloody storm/tornado spin to get out of sticky situations, final cut, and mirror target are key to bossing well. Gollux is quite tough, because you're melee ranged and can't easily kill spawns. Melee ranged puts you in risk of getting hit by boss skills, like gollux's seduce, Von Bon's ohko, etc.
Dits are the tankiest of the three thieves, but hit very slowly. However, they can hit 100ms with flip the coin, and if you can cap with midnight carnival, you'll probably be one of the highest on the dps charts. But, the amount of funding to reach that point is insane.

When not greatly funded : Shadower
When decently funded : DB
When you wanna have a great time and always hit pretty damn good damage for your range: NL

Actually I imagine Shadowers are probably the best bossers when capping with every midnight carnival and meso explosion, since meso explosion hits 15 times AT CAP DAMAGE, compared to dual blades or night lords.

@xDracius: Nah, with decent funding (like 10-20b) you hit very good damage. Most of the DB you come by though only play it because they enjoy the play style, but i have to say thers no point in playing the other classes. NL wins.

I kinda wonder what range id have if I was a NL. But the hassle of getting a claw/charm is too much work for this lazy guy

Hmm, thats true... Never thought of that. Haven't played my DB as much since the revamp (been focusing on xenon and phantom now). Still, I find it harder to dodge the ohko when you're so close to him and cover up his animations with pb.
