What virus protection are you using? My avast does not respond to maplestory.

Download Avast and do a scan.[/quote]

I'm using a Korean vaccine program called al yac. It's a trustworthy vaccine program because it's pretty much spread all over Korea. Btw, is it jst me or r everyone having problem logging in? I keep getting dced and can't play maplestory >:

@lvXBowvl: Right now, Maplestory is lagging very badly so we're all disconnecting.

I don't know anything about that Korean program but Avast is one of the most popular free virus protections in the world so maybe you can consider using that to scan your computer too.

@CherryTigers: Stop using avast now. It has recently been revealed that they have been using their antimalware to spy on users browsing habits. I would recommend malwarebytes antimalware. I have yet to see it miss something that other programs, even paid ones, will find

@Lecarde Oh, the only thing I do is Maplestory, Basilmarket, email, and my university/college websites for homework/coursework. Then again, since that's all I do, I don't even need a virus protection to begin with since my computer really isn't exposed to much.

idk. What's your opinion? If I barely visit other websites and I don't do any downloads on this laptop, is virus protection really necessary?

AV programs, especially free ones, can be prone to false flags. I used to get them a lot with MSE due to faulty definition updates that the company would release.

@CherryTigers: No, active virus protection is not necessary in your situation. But, personally, I would still recommend downloading malwarebytes and run a scan once a month or so. It only takes a few minutes and is just a nice way to ensure that nothing got onto your machine despite the low risk. But it isn't necessary by any means
