Guide to pets
Hello,
Since there are permanent pet packages coming out right now, I'd figure I would buy one after playing so long.
The reason I've never bought a pet before was because they [b]usually[/b] have a 90-day expiration limit.
Now, Since I don't know anything about maintaining, leveling and feeding a pet in Maplestory I started looking for a guide or some help, but I couldn't quite find something useful.
So I figured: Let me ask the Basilmarket forum if they can help me out with some tips, tricks and help on making the best use of my pet.

@NQuad1Zero oh sorry i was talking about pet skills, not pet equips. i read somewhere on basil that all you have to do is use the skill (double-click it i suppose), and the pet will have that skill forever. though for pet equips, they are 90 days unless permanent.

As of right now none of the pet equips are perm(minus the scrollable equips). Though next time Nexon does put perm pet equips (HP bag, auto-loot, scales, wings, etc) they are well worth it to pounce on.
well permanent are one of the few things in the CS that are not scam and are actually useful. so yes they are a good investment
quick side note. that permanent pets are really only worth if they have the perm items with them (meso magnet, item bag, etc) its strange that they donot have those on sale with the ohter perm pets
i'm pretty sure they are permanent. the only catch is you have to use the skill within 90 days. i.e. once you use it, it's permanent for your pet.

No those items are not permanen[b]Yet[/b]so you gotta wait till nexon does some kind of special pet equip promotion
Protip: Write or download a program to auto chat, set it to "iloveyou" and "sit", make it use 1 Pet Food every 5 minutes, and leave it on for a while in a map nobody goes to (I prefer the map right outside Haunted House JQ). This is how I got my Puffram to lv15, otherwise it would have been hellish.
[b]Step 1)[/b] Get a pet of your choice.
[b]Step 2)[/b] Give the pet some equips like the Auto-HP/MP Pouches, Item Pouch, Meso Magnet, Magic Scales, Wing Boots and Binoculars.
[b]Step 2½)[/b] Pick up the "Smart Pet Pouch" now in the Cash Shop for 1800 NX.
[b]Step 3)[/b] Go to a pet merchant and grab some Pet Food and, if you care about closeness, a Pet Command Manual.
• If you have the Smart Pet Pouch, the pet feeds itself and navigates more complex maps without guidance.
• If you don't, you have to manually feed the pet every so often and it won't navigate simple things like sloped ground or platforms on its own.
Voila--pet care in three steps. And you don't have to do a damn thing.

Feed it pet food when it cries and equip an auto HP pouch. That's all there is to pets.
