Good position for a starter football player?

I have absolutely no knowledge of football. Im gonna start playing when I get into 9th grade and I don't know what position to play. Im only 136 pounds and I told my friend I wanted to be an offensive guard, he said ''Bro, you gotta be big too, not just strong. You may cause the QB to be sacked.''. I asked about wide reciever, he just said ''Im not trying to be mean or anything dude, but you aren't really good at running and receiving at the same time.''. Now I am clueless. I want to go for Varsity, for it is my goal. So details are, im 136 pounds, strong (not strong strong, just strong), and decently fast (but problem is I run out of energy after a while >.&lt.
Haha, that made me feel a lot better. More confident now, may make cornerback my official position! There aren't many asian football players where I am, so having an asian on the team would be rare for them...lol
Go for it, dude. Hit the gym hard and become an animal and eat like one, too. Anytime you need some tips, you can ask me. I was starting CB on my team, and I also happen to be Asian, haha, srsly wish I'd joined up at 9th grade like you, just because CB is such a technical position. Takes a long time to hone your skills and be a good corner, so don't be discouraged if you're losing matchups against receivers at first.
@SeeminglyExists I should mention there's the safety there, so I guess it'd never be 100% your fault, especially since the safety is supposed to be the 2nd link that guarantees nothing happens. So long as you don't get burned and juked like a fool then you're fine, haha.

lol sounds like you don't have the confidence f3.
rb maybe... but you would need to be able to shake defenders and get past them.
cb you would need to keep up with receivers, which i doubt you can since you said you get tired.
other positions rely on pure strength
qb? develop an a strong arm, start at jv, if you're good enough you can go to var, usually qb is best player
for high school team, at least at my school. you are aiming to be the best right? f3

but mainly just train your speed and strength, since you don't know what position to play, pack on weight and muscle
then see where you end up, all this takes time, so start asap. dont forget to work on balance and stability, which will help
you stay intact and run through defenders.

if you do a good job, you may earn all team honors f3.

edit: kicker/punter if you wanna do that, i doubt you want to though f3.
I sound like im not confident, but trust me, on the inside, im full of confidence.
I could do some daily running-around my neighborhood everyday for like 15-30 mins to boost my stamina, perhaps I could work on weight and strength. Not really sure about qb tbh...lol. If you have time, may you explain Junior Varsity? Im thought of Kind-of-good Football players when you said ''Start at JV''
About the kicker, my lord, you dont know how inaccurate, weak, and horrible my kicks and punts are...lol

@Above ''If you fail to shut a receiver down, they get a touchdown''....uhm, really sounds like cb's are the one who will be determining whether the opposing team scores or not. Im kind of shaky about being that position. It would be completely embarrassing seeing people looking at me slowing down when the wr is barely close to the endzone
What do corner backs do?
All I know is that they ''block'' the wide receivers and are on the defensive team

EDIT: lol just sent a text to my friend if I should be corner back, said ''You'd be good for that position, just gotta be fast.''
Im fast but I honestly run out of stamina in an amount of time T_T
Cornerbacks are typically the fastest and most agile, but smallest, on the team and have to have good reaction and instincts.
You not only have to shut down receivers and disrupt their passing game, but you have to read plays (watching the QB and receiver nearly simultaneously) and be able to make tackles if the play breaks to the ouside (most corners in the NFL suck at tackling). To be honest, being a corner is one of the highest risk jobs on the team; if you fail to shut a receiver down, they get a touchdown. If you disrupt the play, you get a pat on the back. On the flip side, getting an interception allows your offense to get back on the field immediately, and you have the potential to get a pick-6 (interception followed by a TD), which is always big news. As for your stamina, yeah you need a mild amount, but it's not continuous running. Practices will have you sprinting tons (which is all you do in football, btw, there's no jogging it's 100% effort 100% of the plays), so stamina-wise you should be fine. srs though as a former corner, I gotta say that corners have the most athletic finesse out of all the positions. brb coordination brb speed brb agility brb explosiveness brb pound for pound strength brb reaction
Go for WR. If they tell you, you can't use it as motivation and train hard,
So you mean when/if they give me that position, I don't shoit my pants and train twice as hard?

The runningback is crucial to the rushing component of the game. They typically take handoffs from the QB, receive short passes, make fake plays, and block for the quarterback/route runner. Also, a "starter" is someone who has earned the "starting position" in their team, meaning they're not the second-string or backup but the main player of their position. TBH being an RB doesn't require a ton of knowledge, but athleticism must be top-notch.

How tall are you? How old are you right now?
By "strong" can you give any indications of how strong? Weightlifting stats?
How fast are you? 100m/40 yard dash times?
What other sports are you good at? Any particular set of skills/strengths you have ie. balance and agility or explosiveness and jumping?

Is it wrong if I think running back would be a bad position? Like I said, im stupid when it comes to football, but what do RB's do?
