Unliking something

I understand that there is no dislike system because everyone on the internet is butthurt and it's considered negativity, but with this Like-only system, can I be able to UNlike something at the very least? I've misclicked the little heart countless times when I'd try to quote someone but my screen resolution is pretty tiny. Like on instagram you can like and unlike something, but this is like youtube. You either like it, dislike, or not at all and can't undo it.

Does anyone else agree or nah

But but if you don't like something everybody is gonna cry like babies... and then you're gonna get sacked for having an opinion; probably be called a woman hater because why not.

Basil is trying to hard to be like Twitter or Facebook; there is no disliking, only liking. Which is just stupid.

As much as I disagree with Carbyken's butthurt whining about butthurt whining, I can agree that you should be able to go back on that. You can on Twitter if you just hit the button again.

Also I don't think a dislike system is inherently bad. It probably wouldn't work on Basil because of what the userbase is like (see: neveraddaplayer), but I don't think it's a bad system. Reddit does it well, since they downvote comments that don't add to the discussion or anything. It clears up the page.

I believe I brought this up a while back on a thread that Mr. Basil had posted. I too believed that there should be a way of monitoring certain comments too make it easier for the community to be rid of trolls.
However, over time I have come to see the flaws of such a system. It could easily be abused, and some of the basilers who aren't that well liked could face unnecessarily harsh criticisms for comments that aren't necessarily all that bad. I do agree many individuals have experience problems with the misclicking of the buttons on the right. (Have had a lot of people accidentally report comments that they were supposed to like).

My response to you would be this: if anything, think of liking the comment as another way to grab that person's attention. If you are quoting them, you most likely want them to see your comment, and liking it gives you the ability to give em 2 notifications for 1 comment.

Sometimes I get multiple notifications at once. Unfortunately, once I click on the notifications tab, I can't particularly tell which ones I have already looked at since the only thing it tells you is a name. By liking and quoting, you help alleviate this problem.

@helpingly: has the reporting system changed? since before you either had to pick a reason or just type it out

if possible, it would be cool if B could implement something where you can unlike something one time if you've accidentally liked something just so it doesn't get abused and spam the person's notification tab.

@dorks: The recording system now only requires you to click the triangle with the exclamation point in it. That will report the comment and we can look over the entire thread itself to see if there is any foul play, and from there make a decision.

The reporter no longer needs to include a reason, and since the rules have been simplified, this method should be easier on both parties.
