Do you understand the rules?

Hey guys, Kevvl here with some sort of a PSA/information gathering thing. Do you understand the rules? You know the ones. Go ahead, read them again (or for the first time) if you have to.

If you don't understand them, do you think they should be made simpler or more complex and in-depth? If you DO understand the rules, but you're still getting suspended, is it because you don't care or because you feel the suspensions we make as moderators don't line up with your understanding of the rules? Feel free to be honest, I don't bite. Just don't use this thread as an outlet to complain about specific suspensions. If you have an issue there, PM me.

Many of you have your own bias and your own way of handling things (which, at times, help) and usually that results in bad judgement. For example, on this screen shot I posted on. I responded to a guy saying "why did you watch the powerpuff girls as a child" or something along the lines of that, and it seems his comment was deleted (possibly suspended) and I don't see the reason why it was, he was stating his opinion and his words deserve to be there as much as mine did.

Well yeah, thank you for your time.

@DrHye: Holy crap! Really?

Even a mod has admitted to this! Whaatttt?

PS: I thought you were an awesome mod. You, eevee, and Zora. The only one left of you three is Zora
Do you mean RockGodOne? His account appears to be gone, that would explain why the comment went missing... I don't know what he lost his account to. He PMed me to acccuse me exactly of what you're (indirectly) accusing me among others of here, but I never forwarded the PM to MrBasil, so that can't be it. It wouldn't have been a reason for an account deletion anyway, since he didn't attack me in it.*
As far as us and the rules are concerned: people give us too much credit. They believe we are incapable of making mistakes. Therefore, if someone receives an invalid suspension, we are biased. The thing is that we do make mistakes. And I'm not biased. I'm not looking for redemption, I just feel like I have to make things clear.

As far as the rules are concerned: people often don't understand them or don't know the policies. Maybe we should change the rules in favour of the community for once instead of attemting to change the community in favour of the rules. I'd take a big chunk out of rule #2 (I have objections against the "logic" of some policies) and I would remove some cusswords from the filter (but no racist terms). Explanation of the rules should maybe be a little shorter and the rules page should feature a link to the explanation and policies threads. Also I'd put the Site section on top of the forum list, but that's a lay-out thing.

* I still believe it was a misunderstanding on behalf of RockGodOne and myself; I apparently misunderstood two comments he had written and he later misunderstood the reason why he had received a Warning for one of them (he never saw the Warning notice and didn't know what his comment had been erased for). I tried to explain, but he didn't reply back and later lost his account to something. We never managed to talk it out.

EDIT: I understand the rules, but I believe they need to be centralised.

Would you like people to send less tickets or less posting?
Option 5. I understand the rules perfectly, I choose not to follow them.
This is why we can't have nice things.

The rules never made sense to me. I just chose people at random and made up some offense...

But yo, I think linking the rules explanations guide and policies guide in the rules page would be a good start. After that, you'd have to be preeeetty special to not understand things.
