Anyone else excited about AMD's Zen architecture? I've been waiting for them to get competitive again and I'm tired of seeing Intel and Nvidia monopolize the market. Competition is always good and AMD is running out of time, in my opinion.

I built my computer for high end games and rendering. Maplestory doesn't even change my temperatures from idle aaaand most importantly of all, Maplestory is still unstable as ****.

i7-6800k @ 4.2 (1.35) (Air cooled with an NH-D15)
GTX 1080 (Water cooled)
32GB DDR4 quad channel RAM (2800)
512GB Samsung 960 PRO NVMe SSD (M.2)
500GB & 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSDs

A gif of my computer (before the GPU was water cooled though):

@cannoneer Hell yeah. Competition will put pressure on Intel price-wise and may put pressure on R&D to develop something better and more cost-effective. I welcome competition in a monopolized market.

@twopointonefour: I've used a few before in really low-end builds. They're impressive for the price - especially when paired with a supported card. I'm just not a fan of using 'em for anything more than a decent rig to get by with because you're limiting what upgrades you can add in the future. Also, once you start budgeting over, say, 100 bucks for your processor and card you start seeing diminishing returns and you'd be better off going with a CPU that can better utilize its cores and a more powerful discrete card. Sounds like you've got a good plan for yours and what you need it for, though, so good choice. Probably saved you a decent amount.

+1 @cannoneer: Well the good thing about AM4 is I can get a mobo now and wait and see how Raven Ridge ends up. Probably just end up getting whatever 2400 ddr4 kit and a generic m.2 sata ssd. All AMD really has to do for me is equal the broadwell architectures performance and it'll be fine for everything.
