Why is everything going wrong for me?

Chat Forum Talk about topics not related to MapleStory

I can't believe it's gotten to this. I don't think i've ever been so down on my luck before. It seems that everything is going bad for me. Everything i do now ends in failure... it didn't use to be this way. I used to be good at everything i did. Now nothing is going right; my studies, my work, my relationships.

I know i sound like a pathetic whiny idiot, but i need someplace to vent. I don't have any close friends anymore to talk to about this stuff, either.

I've become weak, lazy, stupid, and useless. I need to change, but i don't have any motivation. All i ever want to do now is sleep and forget about everything, and so i end up wasting half the day away; but that just makes everything even worse. I'm depressed and apathetic about everything. And i'm scared to tell my parents that i'm failing at everything, because they believe in me so much, and i don't want to hurt them. I can't bear to see their disappointment. They believed that i would be successful, and become a doctor. I'm so sorry.

I'm so close to giving up everything now. Should just try my best and wait this storm out?

TL;DR: Some pathetic kid whines about his life.

... But seriously, i need some advice. Please.

Go cry about it to a theripist, psychologist, or a shrink because I don't know the difference between the three, but I know none of us are one.
Why comment if your just going to be so negative, if he is been serious then negativity can have a adverse effect on people feeling depressed.
Don't comment if you can't be helpful, otherwise you'll just became part of another problem.
On topic, Why don't you find something you really enjoy and just build from there finding new things to do which make you feel better.

Sissy.
What I've learned from this world is that ya should take those feelings and bury them in the deepest pits of yar soul, and never let them so much as blink into the sunlight ever again.
I do that with people face to face.

But on the internet, i don't really care.

Things will get better. If you want to try and change yourself you should convince yourself that you can change. Prove to yourself that you can not be lazy by doing something, anything that is productive. It can be exercise, taking care of an animal, or doing an assignment. I would start small and work you way up. Even something that takes a couple of minutes can be helpful. Sometimes I find taking a walk outside helpful to clearing my mind. Sitting and ruminating on what is wrong will only put more stress on you and continue the process. Try to change things up a bit. But most importantly keep going and don't give up!

Listen to this guy. He is 100% correct. Bad times don't last forever... Being productive prevents depression and exercise is an excellent solution when it comes to depression.

Are you saying that you and your parents expect you to be perfect?
Everyone goes through hardships.
Besides, your parents could probably tell if you're depressed and you would be hurting them back for not trusting them with your problems.
Trust in yourself, even if you don't.
No pain (trouble), no gain (improvement).

Just PM me if you want more advice/explanation

You need a brohug right now.
Ok, listen to me, I understand what you're going through, life is just going to keep coming and stuff just happens. Don't worry about your past failures, it's only going to weigh you down. You have to start fresh, ignore your failures, everyone gets that, I fail at things from time to time, but you know what? I just move on, I'll fix myself in the future. Keep your head up high man, you're not stupid or lazy, you've just hit a bumpy road. It'll even out sometime.

That's okay, life has its ups and downs naturally. Without bad times no good times and the worse the bad times the better the good times.
I've noticed this about my own life and have learned to deal with bad times, simply because I've experienced it pretty much every time that after a negative phase I'm suddenly super lucky or things go extra smoothly (e.g. I had a horrible new job and didn't know what to do anymore then suddenly I got a call of someone I applied to in Jan (and it was May then) to ask me if I need a job the EXACT day I thought about quitting my job and pondering whether I should ruin my body or my life (financially))

Also, as for your parents just tell them. If you wanna deal with it alone and you fail and drop into a depression or something they'll feel much more hurt about you not telling them than when you tell them now and let them help you get motivated.
They can help you or (morally) support you.
If you're having a bad time don't stay alone with it. Share it with the people that care. Think about if you would have a child: Would you rather it be miserable and try to deal with everything by itself just to not "disappoint" you or would you want it to tell you openly to show it trusts you and is honest?

Don't worry too much about relationships btw. There's ups in downs in one's social life too.

As long as you're alive you got the chance to improve everything. Just need to get motivated.
Make a list of the problems you have that you can fix (e.g. failing at a subject) and plan accordingly (e.g. study schedule).
Really important: Sleep enough (lack of sleep = lack of motivation), keep your body healthy (eat healthy, avoid heavy foods. Heavy food = tired body = trapped mind), exercise/get out (fresh air!<3) and what you really NEED to do is **rewarding yourself**.
If you improved about an issue or progressed in your work find something to make yourself feel good with to stay motivated. It can be anything you enjoy and that helps you relax or distract yourself (it can even be something like 30-60min game time etc)

Really, why would you give up? There's so much you can do. Live your life how it makes you happy, find something to bloom in, engulf life. It's pretty awesome once you got used to all the downs Heads up!
