MapleStory restarts my computer upon logging in

Okay so... I recently downloaded "MapleStory" again and whenever I reach the log-in screen, the client suddenly freezes and following that, my computer restarts itself.
I have no clue why that happens and I tried searching ALL OVER "Google" for a solution. Most of the solutions weren't very helpful and were too brief. Does anyone know
how to fix this?

~ Thanks ^-^

I actually had the same problem. I would recommend Game Booster, because my computer no longer restarted while playing Maple.

I'll add some additional info:

- I installed MapleStory onto the backup hard drive due to no space on the default one (I now have cleared up 5 GB to make it run smooth. And it does run smooth when I'm not playing MapleStory.)

- It re-starts when I click the "Password" field in the log-in screen

- It ran on the same computer before with no problems at all (VERY SMOOTH)

- I haven't tried re-installing it yet because I am very tired and should be headed to sleep now

And yeah... That's all I have to add right now.... And here's the result from the program "DXDiag":

On my older computer (still running Pentium 4...) it restarts my computer when it lags too much and freezes, or else it BSODs.

Now I have no solutions, but I'm just letting you know that it may happen as a way for the computer to reset itself once a problem occurs (for me, its when Maple is frozen for a good fifteen minutes)

Alright, lets go through the basic steps of getting MapleStory to work correctly.

First, try using Gamelauncher if you aren't already using it. Gamelauncher opens the game without using the website. If you don't know how to use Gamelauncher, go to your MapleStory folder, which is usually installed into C:/Nexon. Right click on "Gamelauncher" and click "Run as administrator" (even if you are the administrator of your computer).
If that doesn't work, go back to your MapleStory folder and right click on Gamelauncher. Click Properties > Compatibility (tab on top) > check box "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows XP (service pack 2/3). While you're there, you can go ahead and check the box that says "Run this program as administrator". Click apply and open Gamelauncher again.
If it still doesn't work, go back to that compatibility tab and try using the other versions of Windows listed there, if there are any more.
If that still doesn't work, go to the MapleStory folder once more and click on "Setup". Follow the onscreen instructions.
Still doesn't work? Try reinstalling MapleStory with the installer that you said you recently downloaded.
If after that it still doesn't work, it may mean that your installer was corrupted during download. In other words, you may have to redownload the installer.
If the game still won't start, you may have a hardware problem. It could either be your graphics card is having trouble processing the game, your amount of RAM may not be enough, or your CPU may be overstressed.
Good luck!

From what I heard, I don't want to download from Steam. I'll just re-install it and see if anything has changed.

"Your cpu might have overheated then restarts itself, that's what happened to me."

It's not my CPU. That happens mostly to laptops.

"If yur trying to be funny, yur not. Kay. Oh and about your problem, try reinstalling. That always fixes my problems lol."

Re-installing what exactly? The whole folder or just the "Hack protection"?

"OT: Did you download somethings? Cuz maplestory wouldnt do that..useless you downloaded some things"

What do you mean "somethings"? What exactly do you mean by that? Hacking programs, pictures, games?
