Are people born gay or do they choose to be gay?

There can only be one true answer but what is it?

I know a gay person would say born this way but on the other hand a christian would say they chose to be gay. I read a lot of arguments from theists and they have some really good valid points such as there is no real scientific researched study to support a "gay gene".

Who is right and who is wrong....?

If I had the choice, then I would be straight.
I mean you make the choice to sleep with a guy or not but you don't have a choice who you're attracted to... why do some guys find one woman attractive yet another guy would find the same woman not attractive at all?
okay, i really have no proof to back any of my claims; i am no scientist. but im a very logical person and logic tells me that gays must have chosen to be gay. it just seems like the logical explanation.

of course, there could be gays out there with a mental disorder that tells them they like men instead of women, but wouldn't those people be one in a million?
I didn't say they're outright born with it. it's not like you pop out and then and there it's decided for you. it's a mixture of biology, upbringing, hormones, and so forth. it's not accurate to say they "made a choice."
everything you do comes down to making a choice. although nature and nurture can affect your choice, your choice is ultimately yours and yours alone. i guess it's not scientifically accurate to say they made a "choice" but it sure seems like that's whats going on.
use your brain lol homosexuality can't be something you're born with. your claim is like saying all gay guys have a mental disposition, if not a mental disorder; something i highly doubt.
Of course, this is your opinion, and have nothing to back it up with.

As far as the majority of our society is concerned, there is something in your brain that tells you whether you are attracted to men or women, decided by various factors in your life.

Most men are attracted to women, and most women to men.

Some men are born with their mind telling them they're attracted to men, while some women are born with their mind telling them they're attracted to women.

It's not a hard concept to understand.
growing gay population? there have been many homosexuals wayyy back in history, and cultures where it was more accepted. it's not like a sudden epidemic. it only seems like a huge thing now cause we live in a society where it's been shunned so long. so of course more people will come out as being gay when they won't be hung for it. but even still there's a lot of stigma around it, people being bullied literally to death because of it. why would people outright choose that?
I'm not saying upbringing has nothing to do with it, I'm saying it's a mix of nature/nurture. I thought this was pretty well accepted.
there are animals in nature that practise homosexual behaviour, did they learn that from being around humans too long? did they make a choice to turn gay?

I don't understand this.
was there a time some big man in a suit comes up to you and says "okay little Johnny, time to make your choice. gay or straight?"
no, you're born a certain way and you grow up liking certain things and it just happens.
it's counter-evolutionary to believe gays turned out to be gay since birth. plus, it makes no sense with the growing gay population that being born gay is what made them homosexual. it obviously had to be a choice.

The "choosing to be gay" is a made-up concept
