 This thread is for users to discuss the current "hacking craze" that is apparently going on. You are encouraged to provide evidence to support your claims. Note: Any other thread(s) on this topic may be deleted/locked because there has been too much spam in the General MS forum on this topic lately. Threads created before this one will simply be locked/deleted. Threads created after this one may receive posting suspensions starting at 3 days. Information • Users in various worlds have stripped their character(s) of their equips. This can be seen through the rankings. • Certain users have removed their items from MTS. • The above two points suggest that the hack may exist. However, some users believe that these actions are simply fake (perhaps the original owner(s) of the account(s) simply played along with the chaos) and were only done to fuel the chaos involved in this situation. • Various testimonies have been given from users who say that they were "hacked." -They state that the hack can be used on users on the same screen as the hacker. Apparently, it allows the hacker to access your character, but in most cases, not your account or your account info. • None of the testimonies regarding the hack provide any screenshot proof of the hack actually being real. • A user impersonates a GM and states that a rollback will take place. screenshot from thread • Strong evidence shows that the above user is not a GM. thread This means that a rollback has not been suggested by Nexon as of yet. BTW I've seen an alien yesterday, yeah belive me (ELVIS IS ALIVE) The thing is. I believe what all of you are saying. about these hackings not being possible. but there's still this thought in the back of my head that "oh crap. what if this is actually true? I haven't seen one of my friends for two days. was he hacked? will i be hacked too? etc... "
sauga: This dudes a lier. Hes copy and pasting this same paragraph into every post that has to do with this situation. This has been a plan since the price of GFA started to rise. They been playing with the people of maple for about a month now. Their trying to trick us into being afraid so they can get a couple laughs and place fear into maplers around North America. Dude, I love you, you are the one so far that got my point. P.S. Im not gay. I havent logged on in about 2 weeks. I can't get hacked right?

First, a "GM" lockes me and my buddies in our room in Combat Arms and starts harassing us. Then, people are saying they get d/ced and hacked. And now, they talk about auto ban after the character gets stripped of every equip they have. I am confused 0.o
CatsAreEvil: I got another idea how they did it, if you were to write a program correctly you could make a packet editor/sniffer that tracks down other users computers by sending a packet to their character to log their ip, then you can track packets coming and leaving their ip. Then you can steal the character load info, like his items and stuff to load his character on a separate maplestory screen. Another fail assumption/idea and a know nothing about packet editing. This might be possible, if a 3rd party hack program is installed in your computer, otherwise NO and by packet editors you mean, messing up with the server Bera(I mean the real server not the bera world). If at all that happens, the GMs will issue an immediate shut down. You sir, an Idiot, who dont know what you are talking about. There is NO WAY , I can read what information is stored in your computer, without your permission. What I can do is send a program thats written to key log every activity and I can access it remotely. But unless you willingly installed it in your computer, theres no way I can do that either. So basically I need your permission to access your files directly or indirectly. CatsAreEvil: I never said it was on nexons server, I just basically said that they intercept the packets of the person who they target. What do you mean intercepting internet box near Nexon's HQ.
