 So this thread is meant to help everyone out on this new so called "hack" which everyone tends to believe and discuss it here. So what the rumor is: This new hack claims that the hacker, will d/c you and you lose your account. Most people say you log back on YOUR own account to see the hacker dropping YOUR ACCOUNT'S items. Which makes little sense. How can you log on your own account if someone is already on it? Just a scare, do not believe the hype. If HeroTex or whoever tells you they got hacked by this hack, they are lying. They are just trying to scare you. So you think, why and how would multiple people be able say the same thing, in different worlds? Just think, rumors spread fast! They could be lying for all you know. I have yet to see one person who has claimed they got hacked, yet here is everyone panicking. I believe 110% I know personally, this hack is fake. You can NOT lose your account, there is no way you can lose your account unless you: A: Give your information away B: Get Keylogged Saying this: Make sure your information is not easy to guess and not something you commonly use. Such as a Email account, family names, nick names, or anything someone can guess about you. I will tell you that someone can hack your EMAIL. So please use a complete different email for maple, and never use it again! Watch out for Meso selling sites, good chance they keylog. And don't you say Packet Editing. Packet editing does not steal information and it is Client sided, your Account information is perfectly safe and is stored on the SERVER side. There is no way you can steal a players account information just by playing a game. Seriously, think about it! Now please, if you have no idea how a online game system runs, or know what you are talking about. Please do not waste your time and especially other basiler's time. Thank you ________ Added: Team viewer still requires install and you must give them your code and allow them to join a session Someone claimed you packet edit your own ID into another player ID while they CC. Which makes 0 sense, you would surely D/c if you somehow manged to get there ID and attempted to switch it, which you can't. You would see the packet for a person entering, not there ID. A hacker or a few hackers hacking NEXON data base, could happen. But its HIGHLY not feasible . In my own opinion of course. IceCube think about what ur saying. If he did hack into nexons database how could he possibly find out which id and pw is the so called rich guys acc that he wants. Do you know how many acc's their are in their database. Even acc's that have been banned remain on their database never being erased. You would have to go through millions of acc's to find who's acc you were looking for.
I d.C heaps never got hacked if I did, I have nothing to lose , and I'll even quit if I did get hacked and it's a free game nexon's loss anyway no ours.

Uhh.... this is actually how microsoft tech support connects to peoples computers, and to do that they need your IP and you need to have team viewer installed on your end as well... It works better than remote desktop connection... *Sitting at chair waiting to take calls for microsoft* :P You sure you're not one of those hackers on MS.

This new hack thing is a load of bs i say agreed. I posted something like this but only two people commented saying what an idiot i was i could almost guarantee you that 90% of the people who supposedly got hacked didn't actually get hacked . they just gave their info to one of their buddies or smthing and then their buddy got mad at them or just jealous and wanted their stuff and simply logged on and took it.If you call that hacking i Lol at you.

It works better than remote desktop connection... *Sitting at chair waiting to take calls for microsoft* :P I'm pretty sure there are flaws in the software code allowing the hackers to take control of your desktop (and therefore,your maple) without your acknowledgement.If I remember correctly,a while ago some hackers tried to infect our computers via the basil live chat,Meebo.Fortunately,it was detected by most antivirus programs. And a person can access your maple remotely using this (or similar) program,I've tried,believe me. There is a slight possibility but me recalling all the recent events it is possible that its the Owner of the particular account's fault. (donno what i am saying? lemme enlighten you)
Famous ppl have been hacked (i will not be specific on the ppl part) and this is how it goes, a so called Hackers visits there store and leaves a message something like this...... Hello, i am a fan of yours blah blah blah and i have made a video and included you as well w/o your permission blah blah blah visit this website (a keylogger website) and check out your video and tell me if i should keep this video of not...... Famous ppl visit that website and scared of the own stupidity say that some guy is a PRO hacker who hacked his account and come up with a false info.......... HOW DO I KNOW ALL THIS? Cuz some random person came to my store and said the same thing but i knew it was a keylogger website. THIS COULD ALSO BE A RUMOR! HOW? Well recently all the Korean mesos selling website went down to 4$ = 100M mesos and MOST PPL CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF DUPE HAX.... (you should know the reality by now) so you get what i mean by rumors.... + Those websites being announced on maple that you get FREE NX BY VISITING THIS WEBSITE IS ALSO A KEYLOGGER WEBSITE (I wrote this on the other *OMG NEW HACK* thread too) Listing: Big Foot Leech

When you change channels, you log out of the current channel and log into the new one.
When you do this, you log in using your PLAYER ID and nothing else.
So the hacker can predict where you are going, and cc while changing his player ID to yours.
That's why they target popular guilds/funded people/high levels in FM, because they commonly cc upwards by 1 or downwards by 1. Easy to predict.
