 So this thread is meant to help everyone out on this new so called "hack" which everyone tends to believe and discuss it here. So what the rumor is: This new hack claims that the hacker, will d/c you and you lose your account. Most people say you log back on YOUR own account to see the hacker dropping YOUR ACCOUNT'S items. Which makes little sense. How can you log on your own account if someone is already on it? Just a scare, do not believe the hype. If HeroTex or whoever tells you they got hacked by this hack, they are lying. They are just trying to scare you. So you think, why and how would multiple people be able say the same thing, in different worlds? Just think, rumors spread fast! They could be lying for all you know. I have yet to see one person who has claimed they got hacked, yet here is everyone panicking. I believe 110% I know personally, this hack is fake. You can NOT lose your account, there is no way you can lose your account unless you: A: Give your information away B: Get Keylogged Saying this: Make sure your information is not easy to guess and not something you commonly use. Such as a Email account, family names, nick names, or anything someone can guess about you. I will tell you that someone can hack your EMAIL. So please use a complete different email for maple, and never use it again! Watch out for Meso selling sites, good chance they keylog. And don't you say Packet Editing. Packet editing does not steal information and it is Client sided, your Account information is perfectly safe and is stored on the SERVER side. There is no way you can steal a players account information just by playing a game. Seriously, think about it! Now please, if you have no idea how a online game system runs, or know what you are talking about. Please do not waste your time and especially other basiler's time. Thank you ________ Added: Team viewer still requires install and you must give them your code and allow them to join a session Someone claimed you packet edit your own ID into another player ID while they CC. Which makes 0 sense, you would surely D/c if you somehow manged to get there ID and attempted to switch it, which you can't. You would see the packet for a person entering, not there ID. A hacker or a few hackers hacking NEXON data base, could happen. But its HIGHLY not feasible . In my own opinion of course. Maybe they are targeting specific players, namely very rich merchants, by hacking into the database, gaining their info, they probably using DC hack to DC them, and then log on their account. *********I have personally seen one happen in ch 5 FM 5 in Mardia, A 7 attack, 9 dex pac was dropped in front of me (my PG mule, different account, no money), and the guy did not care that i took it, he just did f2 and left, he had doctor something in his name, did not recall at the time, i thought he was quitting maple, but then I see smegas about DoctorJesus being hacked and to stay away from m4apleforlife and a few others.*************** It is NOT possible to do a hack like this on a client sided game, but It is possible that a hacker may have hacked Nexon's HQ, found the info of rich merchants, took that info, and lured that merchant into an empty FM, namely its around FM 5 everyone said FrozanIce: If you were telling the truth, you would know that items cannot be dropped inside a FM room. *~*~*~I will glady allow someone to try and hack me, I will record the attempt. Rich people are probably going with the flow with this silly hack. best94: it isnt true, the hack seems like it would involve hacking the database, and if they can do that why hack accounts? why not just give themselves a bunch of mesos and nx? and dont you think the info would be encrypted? because that is dealing with a different issue, plus they have more than enough mesos and nx at the moment lol i agree with gingakuman... there is a lot wrong with this theory, i believe someone is trying to scare us and had an epic FAIL, so now they are "crying wolf"
It IS ALWAYS a friend never the actually person. There are no known videos of this happening. You cannot have the same account logged on from multiple computers; because someone has to d/c. They do need your account information and would have to mass spam numbers to get the pin. And if this did happen you would get message saying "This account is already logged in." So the instantly logging back on and watching items being dropped is false as well. Hackers=0 Players & Nexon=1 I'm still waiting for someone to show me this hack. I am willing to allow them to hack me.
My friends been hacked
We are never going to believe this quote "My friend has been...." unless you can prove it with IGNs or before and after screenshots. You are jumping on a bandwagon by saying my friend. For this hack I would have to see it to believe it. Otherwise its piled in my ATM under useless info.
They don't get your information.
It's like a user switch hack, where they kick you off yours, and they access it on theirs. But its a one time thing, they hack you once and once they log out, you can get back on. If you do get hacked, I suggest getting guildies/buddies on another account to try and DC your character that has been hacked. Is FM 1 safe? Wow it's always a friend. Every time I come across these threads there's always someones friend who get hacked. The only that has claimed to be hacked themselves is HeroTex.

basically, guild hack existed ppl thought it was fake. untill "3989284" joined the guild and "bla bla has been expelled" 10-100 and then ppl believed. if u wanna test make a mule acc on a mule comp and go around fms and look for them to test it out. im surprised no one did this yet. appearently hacking is non existant in maplestory and so this could never happen. i mean there were no spam laggers there were no vacs there were no crackers ever the game is only as strong as its weakest links, ppl spend months and years trying to find thease links to implement their plans. its easy to trick servers just remember that. patsfan123: lol learn to read... Ozzy17: Ok so first off, you can run two maples on one computer, its a simple program Second off, the hack works so that when the packet for a character shows up, from ccing or something, the hacker will take that packet It will dc the person on the account, then it will log the hacker onto the account by having that packet sent as if they had just changed channels Also, the mts not being stripped because since the hacker is not really on their account, im guessing they cannot access the mts due to them dcing (since its another log into server thing) that is the most accurate account of whats happening Someone that knows how this hack actually works  yay!Register / login

and if they can do that why hack accounts? why not just give themselves
