I'm thinking of starting a Martial Art. I was thinking Aikido. Does anyone know any other good ones?

Well, what's your build?
Bulky? Short? Tall? Skinny? Durable? Fragile? Agile?(lol rhyme) Slower? Wing Chun. Doesn't matter if you're fat, skinny, tall, short or any physique. It works for all sizes and heights. It focuses on power angles and use of geometric stuff rather than raw strength.

judo's pretty cool.
Jujitsu,Karate,Muay Thai,Chinese kenpo, and weapons at the same time.
( i wonder if anybody will notice. ) It's not really the style/art that matters, it's how the person learning it puts it into practice.
That being said, find a good dojo/instructor; most are just belt factories after your money. New Blog: Writing

Vivonam Combat Sambo Taekwondo is awesome if you have some kind of weapon with you, you hold it with your hands and use the kicks they teach you to devastate your enemies.
(*) After all, Taekwondo IS mainly kicks, with a few grabs and punches thrown in. The arms are for blocking another TKD user's kicks, and their own legs are for kicks. They don't/RARELY throw punches. If you ever come across a TKD user you'd know that they will 99% use their kicks cuz most of them are put into competitions against each other and using hands to punch are against the rules. Spirit: Does Chi-blocking count? Some martial arts use chi blocking stuff so 'chi blocking' in itself isn't a martial art but if you said something like [insert martial art that uses chi blocking here] then yes. New Pic: Sexy car.
knights345: boxing has no lower defense. Sure, foot work helps, but it still doesn't stop all incoming attacks. In many martial arts, they teach you to utilize all areas of impact: high, mid, and low. boxing just deals with high and mid. there's almost no low attacks or defense. you can't block a sweep with a straight or a jab. unless you move faster than the other person, boxing fails as a single martial art. Then again, most people use Mixed Martial Arts now so they either learn another style to cover the weakness of boxing or they take in boxing's dexterity and speed. Dude, relax with the high, mid and low stuff, this isn't Tekken. Boxer's are probably the most feared street brawlers around. When it comes down to it, it's about who can hit the first blow with knock out potential. A boxer just needs 1 shot to the chin to knock a guy out bare knuckled. Sure Muay Thai, or Tae Kwon Doe or something will teach a guy to kick someone in the stomach or leg or what not, but if I'm within punching distance, you're going to kiss the floor. Ninjutsu is what I would say.
