What it'll do is destroy the majority of life on earth. However, the earth can, over time, repair itself. MapleMan10: Were saving more then were destroying No. You cant place a value on any life forms of anykind and compare them with each other. That reasoning is flawed, because value is entirely subjective. That's like saying the life of a cow is worth more than a human (or vice versa). Thats only what you think, and because of that, it's not an absolute. The earth is going to eventually be destroyed in a few billion years when the sun runs out of energy, so there's no point in trying to ensure the complete survival of earth. Sure, we should strive to help the environment to prolong our own existence, but that doesnt give a reason to kill ourselves. You see, we should help the environment because as humans, we rely on it to survive. No healthy environment = no humans. We shouldnt save the environment for the sake of saving little animals; but rather, save it so we can continue living and functioning on this planet. That being said, if we killed ourselves, what would be the point of saving the environment? It gives us absolutely nothing in return. We can't even experience it. You think "life" will care about what we do? No. It'll just live on in ignorant bliss. The earth itself can always repair itself over time. Besides that, basic human instinct persuades us to do what it takes to survive, and i'm quite sure that you wouldnt have the balls to "kill all humans to save the environment". truth: It would do more harm than good - we would screw up the ecosystem. Removing us would cause drastic changes at speeds beyond imaginable. At least with us alive, we have a chance to slow it down and turn it around.
