Looks like I need to teach a mini math lesson.
Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication OR Division LEFT to RIGHT Addition OR Subtraction LEFT to RIGHT = PEMDAS So in 2+2x2=6(You do the multiplication or division(there isn't any) cause MD comes before AS. Either you guys are trying to act like a dumb or there's that many retards that need help. OxStarxO: Wolfram Alpha does not lie. The reason this is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything comes from a book called "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. It is a fantastic novel but it deeply bores me. I never liked it much. Here, however, I have referenced the tale of 42: Once, there was a "computer being" named Deep Thought. The ancient race of our ancestors asked this great being what the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything was. Deep Thought said that it could come up with an answer - of course - but it needed time. And so, the people waited. In the 21st century, tens of thousands of years afterward, Deep Thought was prepared to give its answer to the race of man, which had long since changed; rather than somber ritual, there was celebration as thousands of men and women excitedly awaited the answer. At last, it was given: "The answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything is... 42." As you can undoubtedly imagine, shocked silence followed. So, are a few of the people here correct with 8?
Or is it 6. O_O The answer is obviously 8!

PEDMAS 2 + 2 x 2 = 2+(2x2) = 2 + 4 = 6 This is what? 5th grade math?
