Do emotions make humans weaker, or stronger?
Maple story Forums : Chat : Talk about topics not related to MS Thread starter
In my personal opinion, opinions would normally influence and make a human weaker more frequently than stronger. Many of our emotions, viewed by me is considered "dead weight" and useless.
Now, for a question to you smart basilers~ If you could keep your emotions, or throw them away, which would you choose? And no, you may not throw away certain emotions. It's all or nothing. Give or take. Click here if you think this post is particularly interesting or helpful.

I already feel like a Schizoid so emotions please
Emotions are great - they give you drive in your life If we were all emotionless we'd be like the staff for the Jonas Brothers Aww...too soon? All of the emotions except hatred, sorrow and regret makes humans weaker.
Love can cause you to do stupid stupid things. Happiness can cause many many unpleasant incidents to befall you. Pride can mess you up for good. etc etc etc I would keep them. No emotions = boring life
NapalmDe4th: This is unanswerable, as whatever we consider Strong and Weak is based by emotions. What we consider strong/weak is derived from our common sense, and influenced by emotion. guitar3865: What we consider strong/weak is derived from our common sense, and influenced by emotion. Not at all. Common sense just reers to not trying to put a square in a round hole. For example, if we consider it 'Strong' to look a terrorist in the eye and not back down to his demands, even though many people may die, we place emotional value into personal strength and ideals (not giving in to criminals, etc.). However, if we see it as strong as being able to back down to a terrorists requests, even at the expense of that person's reputation, but saving countless of lives, the opinion is influenced both by the emotional value placed on the large population which would have died AND on the consideration of others. If you have no emotions to begin with, you'd be apathetic to both cases, and thus be unable to say which person in power was 'stronger'. What the hell kind of a question is that? Who would want to throw their emotions away? I feel terrible for some people that are born with some kind of rare disorders; they can't recongize emotions. That'd be such a bleak life, and I would suicide if I were in that position; but I would have no motive to suicide. No happiness, joy, love, infactuation, it's like the whole meaning of life is just sucked up. And emotions make us stronger, IMO. It provides us with motives to continue on in life, (for me, anyways) gives us strength, and we learn from them. We learn to deal with certain problems a certain way, and we also learn to control out emotions.
Emotions make us human. They do not make us weaker nor stronger; as those are relative and subjective terms. They sometimes cloud our instinct and reasoning and drive us to do illogical things, while they also provide us with the capability to expierence and convey compassion and hope.
The truth is, without emotions, we wouldnt be human. Emotions can make you both weak and strong; and it is for this sole reason that we should keep our emotions with us. This entire conversation is pointless. In order to relinquish emotion completely, you would have to surgically alter your mind, weakening it in the process. This would be a drastic blow to not only your mind, but your body as well. Without emotion, you lose the drive to improve, meaning you're out of shape. Without a sense of pleasure, you wouldn't play games or be on this site, for that matter. Without the centers of your brain that control emotion, you would ultimately never invent brain surgery.
Join the dark side of the force.
I feel very little emotion. The most is probably fear and i could do without.
I want to discard all my emotions. So badass. Then I'd somehow wish deep inside for emotions but I can't so it'll be a wonderful struggle.
Emotions are you.
(cont.) In fact, until we define emotion, which couldn't happen were it nonexistant, we couldn't have this argument, or ANY argument since emotion spurs opinion. !PARADOX! /end world
