I don't understand why it's a crime for Males to use Female characters. When I'm being referred to in-game, they will say "she" and I will immediately correct them and tell them I'm male. If I'm just passing by and someone refers to me as a 'she' I just keep walking because it doesn't matter.
When I DO correct them, I get the: 1. EWWWWW! 2. GEY! 3. You're trying to bum Mesos off guys! Like, what the hell? Do you see me going around telling people I'm female? NO! What's so wrong with having a Female character? 'Kay, so if I'm MALE I must be using a MALE character? Last I checked, this is a MMORPG. Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game What's that? Role-Playing? So why am I being spoken down to when I choose to play the role of a female Paladin? Does this also mean I may only choose the dark skin for my character because I'm black? I'm not as dark as MapleStory's dark skin. I'm in between of that and tan... This is complete BS. I can be an Arch Mage, a Marksman, a Paladin, a Bishop.....but I can't be female because I'm Male IRL. W T F Edit: BlameTruth posted something that reminded me of Perfect World. If you want to be a certain class, you need to be female. So if Maple only allowed Male's to be Warriors or Thieves, would that mean you'd only have those two classes? I'm a normal person IRL. Does this mean I must stay a beginner? I'm not an Arch Mage in real life, so why must all my characters be Male?
GeminiJoker: Playing as a girl vs dressing up as a girl, all comes down to pretending to be a girl. No difference. I'm not dressing up as anything. Pretending to be a girl, no. Everyone who knows me knows I'm male. If they don't, I let them know. supereric317: 1. girl equips are A LOT cheaper than guy equips 2. for some reason people tend to treat you better if think you are a girl 3. It's fun to try out a new thing, it's a GAME COME ON =_= 4. Self-marriage for Apq mules 5. Would you rather be staring at a girl on your screen for five hours or a guy? 6. (Mainly for girls playing on male characters)Male robes are easier to find than female robes. GeminiJoker: Playing as a girl vs dressing up as a girl, all comes down to pretending to be a girl. No difference. Role playing game. Taking on the role of another person who is not yourself. When my sister plays Halo 3, she picks the male voice over the female. Is she a cross dresser? When I played Perfect World for like a week, I played and got to a lvl 30 GIRL cleric. Why? Would you rather look at a half naked girl or a guy? My best friend plays as a girl character on other games, because he LOVES girls and the way they look, not because he wants money or anything.
So yeah i understand you. I find absolutely nothing wrong with having a female character if you're a male.
The reason I don't make female characters is because I find it quite awkward for people to be be referring to me as a female. I'll admit, I have made a girl character on maple before just to try it. I got treated nicer and got into parties easier.
...It's pixels. People giving you a hard time are simply stupid.
If you're telling people you're actually a guy, then there's nothing wrong with it. Actually, even if you aren't telling people you're a guy, IT'S A GAME. People are ridiculous with thinking MS has to be like real life. -_- Honestly, I think this whole issue is stupid and the little preteens getting grossed out need to grow up.
It's alright if you don't gold dig.
It's more like the other way around for me, I'm seeing more guys stereotyping girl characters as guys in rl. >_>
New Pic: Me...
my friend is always a girl...pokemon, this, EVERything
his reasoning is because u like men if u pick them.... I made a boy dk because its easier to find good scrolled boy warrior equips than girls. and they look cooler to me
It would just depend on the person
Most would assume whats what. Plenty of my guy friends have girl characters for one of two reasons:
1) cheaper equips 2) who really cares? I've made a guy character before, and it's no big deal. I thought the guy's hair/equips looked cooler, so i made one. Register / login

Some ppl just feel like... I would rather see a guy play as a girl, than a guy dressed as a girl, being a boy.
