Recently I have seen a lot of questions about aran, therefore, I will make a mini guide just to clear up a few things for you guys~
Nov.7th: 3rd job and 4th job detail look & few videos added, and mounts Nov.5th: guide created What is aran?: Aran is a brand new race in maplestory, with aran, we now have a total of three races (adventurer, CK, and aran). It is an ice based warrior type job that is based on the combo system. Aran can use all warrior weapons and equips, however, the main weapon of aran should be a polearm, as all of the skills requires a polearm in order to be cast. Aran already exist in KMS, and is already CONFIRMED to come to MSEA in this november and also to CMS in this december. Many people predict that GMS will get it between this december to next feb. because our patch is usually a few months behind MSEA. How strong is aran?: Aran is an entirely new race and judged on previous videos in kms and also the describtion of aran made by the CMS gm, it is said that a lv 200 aran have the potential/can be as strong as a lv 220~lv 230 adventurer. In other words, if funded properly, it would be the strongest class in maple. Aran also has a secret "mob" feature which allows them to attack 12 monsters with most of their skills, including regular attack! another unique feature of aran is that you earn along your skills as you rise in levels. For example, when you advance your 1st job, you only receive two skills (combat step and double attack) 1st job detail look: Many people believe that aran is slow due to the fact that it uses polearm, well actually it doesn't... you see, aran gets BOOSTER in 1st job!, and their booster is totally different/better compared to us because their booster gives a +3 SPEED to the weapon! Also, the skill combat step, moves across your map faster which covers the mobility issue in 1st job. Double attack, which is an aran's main attack skill in 1st job, is simliar to that of slash blast of a warrior. Last but not least, the combo system, which is also the skill and backbone of an aran, gives the character itself 1 combo for every continuous hit, for every 10 combos, you get a small boost of 1 attack, and you can reach a MAX of 10 attack boost (which is 100 combo). However, you have around 3 seconds to deliver the next hit before the combo is reset to 0. Combo will also be reset to 0 if a skill such as combo smash, combo peril or combo tempest is activated.Overall aran are great class but sadly, they aren't a strong 1st jobber judged from the videos. 2nd job detail look: There are several new skills you obtain in 2nd job but I am too lazy to describe all of them... but the high light of aran is no doubt combo smash and rush. Did I hear rush? well yes you did. Aran gets rush, which pushes the monsters together, in 2nd job! And as for combo smash, it's a skill that deals 700% to 10monsters at max level, but it requires a combo of 30 before casting it, which doesn't take too long. An unfunded aran can easily dish out 4.5k to 10 monsters at lv 50 with this attack. 3rd job detail look: As for 3rd job.. things are getting even more interesting. First up it combo critical, this skill enables aran to deal out critical damage as combo goes up, which is immensely helpful. The full swing(double attack&triple attack) increase your attack power. Smart knockback, an awsome skill which reduces 90% of the damage needed to knockback a monster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcpoYrpvhF0 (look at how much the aran pwns lyka) They also get a skill called combo peril, which is an updated version of combo smash except it can only be used at combo 100. They also get snow charge, which gives their weapon a boost in attack and also ice elemental. And final toss too, it's the only skill in maplestory that can throw a monster in air, while in air, the monster receives more damage. (doesn't work on boss) 4th job detail look: Now it's getting even more exciting. Aran now has overswing, a even stronger version of the "full swing" skill in 3rd job. They also get final blow, which is simply a desvastating stirke used after triple attack. They get high mastery which gives 10+ attack and 90% mastery which stablize their attack even more. they also get high defense (which is like achilies) and reduce the damage u receive by 15%. They also get a real neat skill called combo barrier, which can be used at combo 200+, when activated, ALL PARTY MEMEBERS(including yourself) have the damage they receive reduced by 20%, last for 240 seconds. Freeze standing, which is another skill, acts like stance and prevent you from getting knock backed. And they get maple warrior too which is the same for every class. Last but not least, the special move of aran, combo tempest. Upon activate this skill (which requires 200 combo+), it freezes all monsters in the map except boss for a period of 40 seconds. During that time, any damage dealt to the monster, even if it's only 1 damage, will automatically kill the monster. Aerodynamical: Just saying; that link you got has combo 3 and that Aran is obviously not using combo smash which as what the author of this thread said, they could hit 4.5k with COMBO SMASH not a normal attack. See that glowing polearm projectile? That's combo smash. He used the skill -> combo # went down to 0 -> he hit 3 mobs with combo smash -> combo # is now 3. Meh, Buccaneers will always be MY favorite combo-er.
Now why would MS release a new class that would be dishing out more dmg than the adventurer warriors? It seems a bit....weird o.o
Nice guide the arans seem so powerful :O. But its hard to keep up a good combo at lower levels right?

But its hard to keep up a good combo at lower levels right? it's somewhat hard during 1st job because there aren't a lot of available packed up monster training spot yet, (except for maybe caution falling down and ant tunnel) plus the only attack u have is double attack/regular attack. If you can learn to control your character, then yes Aran is amazing. Otherwise, they fail at even out performing against any of the Warrior classes.
Takeback3r: 1hkoing isn't that spectacular if it takes as long as crusher takes to cast. Sure, Crusher's slow in comparison to other main attacks, but it's not that slow. Aran damage is actually very consistant with lv 26 mastery and 100+ combos. It's REALLY hard to lose combos when bossing on anything lower than PB. Paladins have nothing on arans other than heavens hammer, and since that peaks in exp gain at some point, arans just continue to kill faster. Tempest sucks and i don't see why anyone uses it. Ionno, I'm seeing anywhere from 10k to 110k. 5k including body pressure. Less with lower combos. I'm also not just talking about bossing, or normal training, but rather, any possible map and situation where you can kill monsters, for whatever reason you see fit. So, unbreakable stun, freeze, lower touch damage taken, a more accessible rush (as you yourself pointed out), and pure ban-hammah (or... ban-sword?) sexiness don't count for anything (I suppose you can disregard that last one...)? Then Aran's have their combo counter that counts each hit you make. And finally we have classes like Shadowers and Buccaneers who link attacks together to get around cool downs/charge ups. xD Charges are elemental thingamawhats that add elemental-based damage to your attacks, as well as a certain increase in damage %. New Blog: It was bound to happen.

2) 4.5k? Really?
This isn't anything close to a guide, since you linked to an SP build instead of writing one yourself. Not to mention not entirely true. A level 200 aran is not equal to a 230 adventurer. Arans will never be stronger than ranged classes. Ever. It is however way stronger than all non-ranged non-mage adventurers with SE.
Just saying; that link you got has combo 3 and that Aran is obviously not using combo smash which as what the author of this thread said, they could hit 4.5k with COMBO SMASH not a normal attack.
