THE GUILD WAS BUILT FOR KMS VERSION, HOWEVER IT AFFECTS GMS TOO ONLY IN GMS WE HAVE DIFFERENT SKILL NAMES.
Please note that this guide is not perfect! If anyone notices any typos, mistakes, or anything that doesn’t seem right to you in general, please tell me!

Before you assume anything, let’s make it clear that Cannon Shooters are Explorers! Not Legends,
not Resistance, Explorers! They are pirate-type, and use a new weapon called Cannons.

Enjoy~

Making a Cannon Shooter

Like Dual Blader’s, to make a Cannon Shooter, you will have to select the ‘Cannon Shooter’ Button on the character selection page. Once you’ve done that, select your name and choose your looks, then you’re ready to start!

You will begin on a boat, which is being attacked by monsters! You’re pushed off of the boat, and into the sea! Then, you awake to find yourself stranded on a small island named Coco Island (somewhere off the coast of Nautilus Harbor) with a monkey. This monkey had apparently saved you from drowning after you fell off of the side of the ship. From that point on he is your companion and he never leaves your side. Talk to the monkey and do a chain of quests (which are pretty straight forward, so I won’t explain them here). Once you’ve reached level 10, you escape the island! Instead of building a raft, or swimming, you decide to escape the fun way.

AP Guide

WARNING: CANNON SHOOTERS USE STR AS THEIR MAIN STAT, NOT DEX!

Normal DEX: This AP build consists of you clicking the “Auto Assign” button in your character stats window. You’ll be able to wear any high level equips with ease, but you will also have significantly lower damage the two other builds.
Low DEX: This is probably the best path for most Cannon Shooters. Click the auto assign button every time you level up until your total DEX is high enough (with your equipment) to wear your end-game weapon of choice.
DEXless: This build is only for somewhat funded people. Put all of your AP into STR. Now, get enough DEX on your equips so that you can equip higher level weapons. (Those weapons will require a lot of DEX!

Beginner Skills

Along with their other skills, Cannon Shooters get three new skills in their beginner tab.

Master of Swimming - Because your character has nearly drowned, you have the passive ability to move faster, and not lose HP in water.

Pirate Blessing - Adds +15 all stats and 5% HP/MP. This is a “Racial Skill”.

Storage of the Master – Every time you job advance, this skill gains 1 level. Each level adds +12 to your Equip, Use, Etc, and Set-Up inventory tabs. This skill is only for Cannon Shooters.

Pretty cool, eh?

First Job

Cannon Splash – Launch flame attacks and attack up to 3 enemies. For a period of time, the enemy will suffer continuous damage.
Max level (20): MP cost: 11, Damage: 225%, Attacks up to 3 enemies.

Punching Cannon – Your Cannon will punch and knock-back the nearest enemies.
Max level (20): MP cost: 9, Damage: 95%, Attacks the enemies 3 times.

Gigantic Backstep – During the state of emergency, avoid the enemy’s attack by firing your Cannon backwards. Once attacked, there is a chance that the enemies speed will be lowered.
Max level (15): MP cost: 20, Damage: 210%, Attacks up to 3 enemies, 70% chance to slow down the enemy by -60 speed for 5 seconds.

Build Up Cannon – Permanently improves the Defense and Attack on your Cannon. Passive skill.
Max level (10): Attack +20, Defense +250, Magic Defense +250.

Now, let’s get started with the Builds!:

Max Gigantic Backstep Build:

Level 10: +1 Cannon Splash(1)
Level 11: +1 Punching Cannon(1), +1 Gigantic Backstep(1), +1 Cannon Splash(2)
Level 12: +3 Cannon Splash(5)
Level 13: +3 Cannon Splash(8)
Level 14: +3 Cannon Splash(11)
Level 15: +3 Cannon Splash(14)
Level 16: +3 Cannon Splash(17)
Level 17: +3 Cannon Splash(Max)
Level 18: +3 Build Up Cannon(3)
Level 19: +3 Build Up Cannon(6)
Level 20: +3 Build Up Cannon(9)
Level 21: +1 Build Up Cannon(Max), +2 Gigantic Backstep(3)
Level 22: +3 Gigantic Backstep(9)
Level 23: +3 Gigantic Backstep(12)
Level 24: +3 Gigantic Backstep (15)
Level 25: +3 Gigantic Backstep(18)
Level 26: +2 Gigantic Backstep(Max), +1 Punching Cannon(2)
Level 27: +3 Punching Cannon(5)
Level 28: +3 Punching Cannon(8)
Level 29: +3 Punching Cannon(11)
Level 30: +3 Punching Cannon(14)

End Results:
Cannon Splash – Maxed
Build Up Cannon - Maxed
Gigantic Backstep - Maxed
Punching Cannon – 14

Reasoning: Well, we start off putting one point into all skills except Build Up Cannon for fun! Then, we move on to maxing Cannon Splash for its great Mobbing ability. Build Up Cannon is up next because of its great passive buff! +20 attack and 250 Def/M.Def will be really useful later on. Now Gigantic Backstep, because it provides great mobility. Don’t Max Punching Cannon, because it will be replaced with Monkey Book Rush in 2nd job, while Cannon Splash will still have some use.

Max Punching Cannon Build:

Level 10: +1 Cannon Splash(1)
Level 11: +1 Punching Cannon(1), +1 Gigantic Backstep(1), +1 Cannon Splash(2)
Level 12: +3 Cannon Splash(5)
Level 13: +3 Cannon Splash(8)
Level 14: +3 Cannon Splash(11)
Level 15: +3 Cannon Splash(14)
Level 16: +3 Cannon Splash(17)
Level 17: +3 Cannon Splash(Max)
Level 18: +3 Build Up Cannon(3)
Level 19: +3 Build Up Cannon(6)
Level 20: +3 Build Up Cannon(9)
Level 21: +1 Build Up Cannon(Max), +2 Punching Cannon(3)
Level 22: +3 Punching Cannon(6)
Level 23: +3 Punching Cannon(9)
Level 24: +3 Punching Cannon(10)
Level 25: +3 Punching Cannon(13)
Level 26: +3 Punching Cannon(16)
Level 27: +3 Punching Cannon(19)
Level 28: +1 Punching Cannon(Max), +2 Gigantic Backstep(3)
Level 29: +3 Gigantic Backstep(6)
Level 30: +3 Gigantic Backstep(9)

End Results:
Cannon Splash – Maxed
Build Up Cannon - Maxed
Punching Cannon - Maxed
Gigantic Backstep – 9

Reasoning: The first part is the same as the first build, but at level 21, you start adding Punching Cannon instead of Gigantic Backstep. This is for people who want faster leveling in 1st and 2nd job, so they sacrifice mobility for power.

Second Job

Monkey Boom Rush – Roll the bomb-filled barrels. Barrels will explode the enemies and push them a certain distance.
Max Level (20): MP cost 28, Damage: 50%, Attacks up to 8 monsters 8 times, 100% chance to knockback your enemy, Pushes the monsters and deals 300% damage once it explodes.

Critical Fire – Permanently increases your critical rate and minimum critical damage. Passive skill.
Max Level (15): Critical damage +20%, Minimum critical damage + 10%.

Slug Shot – Fires a small number of shells at the same time for several feet to attack the enemies.
Max Level (20): MP cost: 24, Damage: 220%, Attacks up to 4 monsters 2 times.

Pirate Training – Follow the pirates’ secret training to improve strength and dexterity. Passive Skill.
Max Level (10): STR + 30, DEX + 30.

Cannon Mastery – Increases the cannon mastery and accuracy. Passive Skill.
Max Level (20): – Cannon mastery + 50%, Accuracy + 120.

Cannon Booster – Use HP to double the attack speed of your cannon. Requires: Cannon Mastery Level 5.
Max Level (20): MP cost 11, Duration: 200 seconds.

Monkey Magic – Use your monkey’s magic to increase your party members’ HP, MP, all stats, speed, jump, accuracy, and avoidability for a short period of time. This buffs stacks with all other buffs.
Max Level (20): MP cost: 55, Duration: 300seconds, Max MP +300, +20 all stats, Speed +10, Jump +5, Accuracy + 160, Avoidability + 160.

Max Booster Build:

Level 30: +1 Monkey Boom Rush(1)
Level 31: +1 Critical Fire(1), +1 Slug Shot(1), +1 Cannon Mastery(1)
Level 32: +3 Cannon Mastery(4)
Level 33: +3 Cannon Mastery(7)
Level 34: +3 Cannon Mastery(10)
Level 35: +3 Cannon Mastery(13)
Level 36: +3 Cannon Mastery(16)
Level 37: +3 Cannon Mastery(19)
Level 38: +1 Cannon Mastery(Max), +2 Cannon Booster (2)
Level 39: +3 Cannon Booster(5)
Level 40: +3 Cannon Booster(8)
Level 41: +3 Critical Fire(4)
Level 42: +3 Critical Fire(7)

Level 44: +3 Critical Fire(13)

Level 53: +3 Pirate Training(6)
Level 54: +3 Pirate Training(9)
Level 55: +1 Pirate Training(Max), +2 Monkey Magic(2)
Level 56: +3 Monkey Magic(5)
Level 57: +3 Monkey Magic(8)
Level 58: +3 Monkey Magic(11)
Level 59: +3 Monkey Magic(14)
Level 60: +3 Monkey Magic(17)
Level 61: +3 Monkey Magic(Max)
Level 62: +3 Cannon Booster(11)
Level 63: +3 Cannon Booster(14)
Level 64: +3 Cannon Booster(17)
Level 65: +3 Cannon Booster(Max)
Level 66: +3 Slug Shot(4)
Level 67: +3 Slug Shot(7)
Level 68: +3 Slug Shot(10)
Level 69: +3 Slug Shot(13)
Level 70: +3 Slug Shot(16)

End Results:
Cannon Mastery – Maxed
Critical Fire – Maxed
Monkey Boom Rush – Maxed
Pirate Training – Maxed
Monkey Magic – Maxed
Cannon Booster – Maxed
Slug Shot – 16

Reasoning: In my opinion, this is the best second job build available. To start off, I always like to slap a point into those fun skills! It kind of makes the gameplay more fun . We put one Critical Fire because it gives +6% at level one. Then, move on to max Cannon Mastery for more stable damage, +8 Booster for speed, and Critical Fire for the extra damage. Monkey Boom Rush, aside from being a very fun skill, is very useful. It does a total of 400% damage to 8 monsters and has a 100% chance to knock them back! Next, Pirate Training because very helpful with getting DEX for your end-game weapon, and STR for more damage. By this time, you’re almost level 70, and party quests, Dojo, Boss Runs, and Monster Park will start to interest you, so max Monkey Magic, because it’s a very useful party skill. Finally, Booster for the extra buff duration, and Slug Shot because you need a place to put your leftover points. Don’t get me wrong, Slug Shot is useful, but it immediately gets replaced at third job, while Monkey Boom Rush will always be useful for the 100% chance to knock-back.

Max Slug Shot Build:

Level 30: +1 Monkey Boom Rush(1)
Level 31: +1 Critical Fire(1), +1 Slug Shot(1), +1 Cannon Mastery(1)
Level 32: +3 Cannon Mastery(4)
Level 33: +3 Cannon Mastery(7)
Level 34: +3 Cannon Mastery(10)
Level 35: +3 Cannon Mastery(13)
Level 36: +3 Cannon Mastery(16)
Level 37: +3 Cannon Mastery(19)
Level 38: +1 Cannon Mastery(Max), +2 Cannon Booster (2)
Level 39: +3 Cannon Booster(5)
Level 40: +3 Cannon Booster(8)
Level 41: +3 Critical Fire(4)
Level 42: +3 Critical Fire(7)
Level 43: +3 Critical Fire(10)
Level 44: +3 Critical Fire(13)
Level 45: +2 Critical Fire(Max), +1 Monkey Boom Rush(2)
Level 46: +3 Monkey Boom Rush(5)
Level 47: +3 Monkey Boom Rush(8)
Level 48: +2 Monkey Boom Rush(11)
Level 49: +3 Monkey Boom Rush(14)
Level 50: +3 Monkey Boom Rush(17)
Level 51: +3 Monkey Boom Rush(Max)
Level 52: +3 Pirate Training(3)
Level 53: +3 Pirate Training(6)
Level 54: +3 Pirate Training(9)
Level 55: +1 Pirate Training(Max), +2 Monkey Magic(2)
Level 56: +3 Monkey Magic(5)
Level 57: +3 Monkey Magic(8)
Level 58: +3 Monkey Magic(11)
Level 59: +3 Monkey Magic(14)
Level 60: +3 Monkey Magic(17)
Level 61: +3 Monkey Magic(Max)
Level 62: +3 Slug Shot(4)
Level 63: +3 Slug Shot(7)
Level 64: +3 Slug Shot(10)
Level 65: +3 Slug Shot(13)
Level 66: +3 Slug Shot(16)
Level 67: +3 Slug Shot(19)
Level 68: +1 Slug Shot(Max), +2 Cannon Booster(10)
Level 69: +3 Cannon Booster(13)
Level 70: +3 Cannon Booster(16)

End Results:
Cannon Mastery – Maxed
Critical Fire – Maxed
Monkey Boom Rush – Maxed
Pirate Training – Maxed
Monkey Magic – Maxed
Slug Shot – Maxed
Cannon Booster – 16

Reasoning: This is basically the same as the first build, but you max Slug Shot instead of Booster for faster(barely) leveling in those late-60’s. Booster ends up being level 16, so it lasts 160 seconds instead of the 200 seconds it gets when it’s maxed.

Third Job

Cannon Spike – Point your cannon at your enemies and a shell will be fired to attack them.
Max Level (20): MP cost: 36, Damage: 260%, Attacks up to 6 monsters 3 times.

Monkey Power Boom[– Plant a special bomb that will attack many enemies at the same time and stun them for a short period of time. In addition, the damage of Monkey Boom Rush will be permanently increased. Requires: Monkey Boom Rush level 20.
Max Level (20): Active Effects: MP cost: 46, Damage 280%, Attacks up to 10 monsters 5 times, 95% chance to stun the enemy for 4 seconds, Cooldown: 5 seconds.
Passive Effect: Permanently increases the damage of Monkey Boom Rush by 30%.

Monkey Wave – Get your monkey’s noise up and attack surrounding enemies. As you collect power, your monkey will be able to create a big noise that will be heard for a wide range, and if the maximum possible output is done, there’s a chance to hit a critical attack.
Max Level (20): MP cost: 55, Damage: 1000%, 95% chance to stun, 20% chance to hit a critical attack when the maximum possible outcome is done.

Cannon Jump – Launch your cannon from the ground and jump high and recoil. Jumping off the ground also damages enemies.
max Level (15): MP cost: 35, Damage: 210%, jumps over a maximum of 6 enemy’s and damages them.

Cannon Reinforcement – Permanently improves the damage and attack speed of your cannon.
Max Level (15): Permanently increases your damage by 30 attack, Attack speed increases by 1. Passive Skill.

Extremely Vital – Permanently enhances your cannon.
Max Level (20): Max HP +20%, Weapon Defense: +50%, Abnormal Status Resistance: +20% Passive Skill.

Counterattack’s Shooter – Grants a chance to deal additional damage after an attack.
max Level (15): Proc rate: 20%, Damage 160%. Passive Skill.

Oak Barrel Roulette – Detonate oak barrels and get a random buff. The buffs have a chance to curse your enemy for a short period of time.
Max Level (10): MP cost: 60, Buff duration: 240 seconds. Has a 30% chance to curse your enemy’s with darkness, stun, freeze, or slow for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Roll of the Dice – Test your luck! Roll a dice to get a random buff. Roll 1: nothing, Roll 2: +30% defense, Roll 3: +20% HP and MP, Roll 4: +15% critical rate, Roll 5: +20% damage, and Roll6: +30% experience.
Max Level (20): MP cost: 60, duration: 180 seconds. Cooldown: 180 seconds.

End Results:
Cannon Reinforcement – Maxed
Cannon Spike – Maxed
Counterattack’s Shooter – Maxed
Monkey Power Boom – Maxed
Monkey Wave – Maxed
Roll of the Dice – Maxed
Oak Barrel Roulette – Maxed
Extremely Vital – Maxed
Cannon Jump – 11

Reasoning: Just like any other Explorer, when you job advance at level 70, you automatically get 1 SP to put into any skill. We put ours into Cannon Spike, because that’s our best third job training skill! Next, at level 71, we put our points into all of the fun skills for our entertainment, then max Cannon Reinforcement because it increases your weapon speed by 1 and gives you a nice 30 weapon attack. Now, cannon Spike for its awesome damage (It’s your fastest skill, and it does a total of 780% damage!) Counterattack’s Shooter is basically the same thing as Final Attack, just with a new name. (Very useful, so we max it!) Next, one of our coolest skills, Monkey Power Boom. The animation is awesome, and it does 1100% damage. Monkey wave is also useful for the stun effect. It also has high damage, but it requires a charge up. Roll of the Dice now because we need it for Double Lucky Dice in fourth job, and it’s a signature pirate move with plenty of good buffs to give. Next, Oak Barrel Roulette. It’s very similar to Roll of the Dice, except instead of buffing you, it curses your enemies. Now, here’s where you need to choose whether to max Extremely Vital, or Cannon Jump. I say go with Extremely Vital, because it gives 20% abnormal status resistance. Cannon Jump is only used for mobility, and you get the same mobility at level 1 that you would at level 20.

Max Cannon Jump Build:

Level 70: +1 Cannon Spike(1)
Level 71: +1 Cannon Jump(1), +1 Monkey Power Boom(1), +1 Monkey Wave(1)
Level 72: +3 Cannon Reinforcement(3)
Level 73: +3 Cannon Reinforcement(6)
Level 74: +3 Cannon Reinforcement(9)
Level 75: +3 Cannon Reinforcement(12)

Level 117: +1 Cannon Jump(Max), +2 Extremely Vital(2)
Level 118: +3 Extremely Vital(5)
Level 119: +3 Extremely Vital(8)
Level 120: +3 Extremely Vital(11)

End Results:
Cannon Reinforcement – Maxed
Cannon Spike – Maxed
Counterattack’s Shooter – Maxed
Monkey Power Boom – Maxed
Monkey Wave – Maxed
Roll of the Dice – Maxed
Oak Barrel Roulette – Maxed
Cannon Jump – Maxed
Extremely Vital– 11

Reasoning: For the most part, this build is the same as the first one. The only different part is at the end, when instead of maxing Extremely Vital, you max Cannon Jump. I wouldn’t recommend this because Extremely Vital gives abnormal status resistance (which will be useful when bossing). Cannon Jump is only used for mobility, and you get the same mobility at level 1 that you would at level 20. When you put more points into it, it just adds on to the damage it does to the monster below. Cannon Jump is useful, just not that useful.

Fourth Job

Cannon Bazooka – Your cannon launches a powerful attack to damage multiple enemies in front of you at once.
Max Level (30): MP cost: 75, Damage: 650%, Attacks up to 6 enemy’s 2 times.

Cannon Buster – Fires the enemies in front of you.
Max Level (30): MP cost: 63, Damage: 305%, Attacks the enemy 5 times, 15% Critical Chance will be added.

Overburning Cannon – Increases your cannon’s performance permanently. In addition, there’s a chance of ignoring the enemy’s defense while attacking. Passive Skill.
Max Level (30): Permanently increases your damage by 40%, Ignores 20% of monster’s DEF.

Nautilus Battleship – Call the battleship of the Nautilus to attack multiple enemies at once a number of times.
Max Level (30): MP cost: 350, Damage: 520%, Attacks up to 15 enemy’s 3 times. Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Pirate Spirit – Permanently increases the chance of granting additional damage after an attack. Also, when using this skill, you have resistance to being knock-backed.
Max Level (30): Active effects: MP cost: 80, Duration: 300 seconds, 80% chance to not get knocked back by the enemy’s attack.
Passive Effects: Permanent 15% chance of granting additional damage after attacking.

Max Level (30): MP cost: 70, All stats: +15%, Duration: 900 seconds.

Hero’s Will: – Cures you from being seduced. The Cooldown decreases as the skill level increases.
Max Level (5): MP cost: 30, Cooldown: 360 seconds.

Reasoning: To start off with your new skills, you should put 1 point into every exciting skill you have. Next, you max Overburning cannon and Cannon Bazooka at the same time for the awesome 40% damage increase plus 20% defense ignored and an awesome mobbing skill! Cannon buster is the only 1v1 skill you ever get, so it will be useful when bossing. Next, max Double Lucky Dice! Why? Because its max level is only 5, and it gives some good buffs. If you can afford the very expensive mastery books, now’s the time to stuff as many points as you can into Maple Warrior! Note – if you want, you can leave Maple Warrior at level 29, because the only thing that last point does is make the buff last a little longer. Max Magnetic anchor for its ability to pull in monsters and Supporting Monkey Twins because who wouldn’t want two cannon-riding monkey’s following them everywhere? Now, look out! Here comes the fun part! Max Battleship Nautilus! A big, fat, flying whale in the sky? How awesome is that! Next is Hyper Monkey Spell because when maxed it gives +40 all stats and some other cool buffs. Last, slap a point into Hero’s Will and max Pirate Spirit. Pirate Spirit is useful when bossing because of the stance, but this is the Training Skill Build, right?

Reasoning: Because this build was designed to allow your Cannon Shooter to boss a lot earlier than usual, you start out maxing Overburning Cannon (For a nice damage boost) and Cannon Buster (Your only 1v1 skill). Now, onto Pirate Spirit for the stance, and Double Lucky Dice for the great buffs. Whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to do some training, so max Cannon Bazooka. This skill is also useful on Zakum arms. Maple Warrior gives 15% all stats, which will drastically increase your DPM. Next, max Support Monkey Twins for extra damage and two cool new monkeys. Magnetic Anchor should also be maxed for its mob pulling ability and extra damage done to enemies. By now you’re almost done! Max Hyper Monkey Spell because it gives a nice +40 all stats. Battleship Nautilus now because it’s your last useful skill, and while you’re at it, slap a point into Hero’s Will. It’ll save you the extra All Cure Potions!

Backstep maxes at 15. You're supposed to have 16 in the last skill, not 14.

might as well scrap the guide and cut your losses. you didn't bother to use GMS skill names and just copied the descriptions from shakar's blog. on top of that, you've got major mistakes in several builds.
there's absolutely NO reason to sacrifice SP from Blast Back or Cannon Jump, since they lose distance if not maxed. Cannon Strike is not worth maxing and you shouldn't even suggest it as an alternate 1st job build, especially since you're suggesting less Blast Back in its place. similar problem with your second job build, either max Scatter Shot or Barrel Bomb and leave the other at 16. you don't need to sacrifice Booster duration (which is used forever) just to have both 2nd job (and immediately obsolete) mob skills. if anything, Barrel Bomb should always be maxed for its 100% kb and Scatter Shot will do perfectly good damage at 16.
in 3rd job, Monkey Wave shouldn't be maxed since it's slow and won't be used much, even though it packs a punch. there isn't another 3rd job skill that's really worth sacrificing for it.

you should also consider adding headers and such if you plan on fixing this into a legitimate guide.

You know. There's already an existing Guide. It's even stickied in this Cannoneer forum.
It's Much more organized and accurate than this one..

If you want to take this one seriously, then show us you take it seriously.
Format it, correct the names, the errors, fix the skill builds, etc etc

If not, then just close this thread..

Take some time to format the guide, proofread, and make it more applicable to GMS(i.e. Proper skill names, etc).
Even if there's already an existing guide, multiple guides never hurt anyone and gives people variety.

this guide is useless because it recommends maxing monkey wave
that skill becomes useless once you even have level 1 bazooka in 4th job
