The first thing to notice is that the Customer Copy and Merchant Copy of the receipts hardly ever match. Most of you are just middle school kids so you've probably never paid your own restaurant bill but 90% of people only fill out the Merchant Copy and just throw the Customer Copy on the ground. The fact that the people who could have wrote the hateful note did not have it on their personal copy should not come as a surprise. The only thing in their defense would be that the bill they received from their Bank Statements says that they paid with full tip. A third option was that someone else just wrote the note on their card. All of these are options.
