SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI........

Can you hear that? That's the sound of mah ROFLCOPTER SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI APRIL FOOL'S!111½½½§§§§§§etcetc....
Man, I haven't had this much fun on Basil since tomorrow. Love you all!

Now all the people who hated me still hate me and all the people who didn't hate me now hate me. I'm so good at this :D Props to those who figured out the strange correlation with the date and the quitting phenomenae. Also, many thanks to those who got worried, I mean really, that's what keeps me going through the dark hours of my life. Not really, but in a bit milder way yes. TYVMkthx yo.

panther101 if I had a million mesos I'd give them to you for being the first (and only) to notice the Prince of Bel-Air reference. Stalk me in Scania any time for 10 mesos, I'll be on from now 'till never.

Oh I'm so gangster right now. Happy April 2nd everyone!

PS: I told Mindstormer to reply like that. He's a cool guy, always.

-------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr. Basil,

I am writing this as an open letter because I feel that the community has equal rights to know what is going on inside of me right now. My heart is beating, my muscles are hurting and my veins are being clogged up with cholesterole, but those are not things I would write letters about. Emotions, those states of mind which drive man into creativity, boredom or insanity, are what keep me up at night.

Roughly a month ago surprise hit me in the back of the head and said BasilMarket would be recruiting new moderators. The hit was hard. As I lay on the floor, unaware of anything that was not part of my brain's electric impulse system, I started asking questions. Questions I did not know the answer to. Neither did I know who would, so I asked them from anyone and noone, without a response. Why would we need new moderators? Are we not sufficient enough? What will happen to me, to Mindstormer, to the rest of us?

Days and weeks passed, summer got closer and everyone was chilling out, relaxing, and shooting some B-Ball outside of the school. Everyone but me. I watched, quietly, as the new moderators were selected. A shiny and glamorous team full of stars such as EenRite and Suama emerged from the depths of the internet, the pages of the Basilmarket forums. Like the sun rises higher up into the sky each day so did the new moderators. What used to be countless of hours of browsing the forums and deleting offensive posts from every other thread had suddenly become a walk through a ruined city where every thug, criminal and drug dealer vanishes as soon as you see them. If you see them.

You may have seen the Rugrats Movie, where Chuckie tells Tommy that when a new baby is born into a family the older child turns into a dog and is left outside in the rain, alone. When you purchase a new computer its predecessor has its information transferred to the immigrant and is then moved into the corner to collect dust. That is what happened to me, to Mindstormer, to Omar, Elu and Syko. We no longer feel appreciated, important and that our work is worth something. Instead despair and frustration drive us to the edge of depression.

IRC users may be aware of the phrase "Basil makes me lose faith in the internet" which mostly describes my feelings. Having Basilmarket as my homepage, seeing full caps thread titles posted by xXxAzZNSinzzXXx asking how many girls wear pink shoes is not how I want to start off a session of surfing on the waves of data and information. Occasionally it takes hours to convince users that is not Sparta, this is madness.

I cannot take this anymore. I hope that I do not offend you or anyone in the community with what I've decided, but either way I quit.

Your's sincerely,
Misacorp

Looks like you've made up your mind, well, not like you've been much of a help anyway so I guess it won't make too much difference.

Anyway, I've been wondering what I'm here for lately too.

Lately whenever I report something it gets taken care of. I'm guessing it's thanks to EenRite.

It's unappreciation and assumed unfairness like that which causes us to reconsider why we're here to begin with.
Your example is utter nonsense.

I've always said to myself, "if I'm not enjoying what I'm doing, and I'm not gaining anything from it, I might as well stop." Same advice goes to you. By what I've seen you don't seem to enjoy being on BasilMarket.

@ notfulljack2: He is speaking English. Maybe you should study more in school?
@ abc409: LOL. IDOL. LOL.

Cry me a river misacorp. You made it seem so dramatic. So what if more moderaters were 'hired'(if that's the right word to use), maybe it's because there was a lot of work to be done.

I find it very troubling that the previous moderators were not advisors to such a major change in Basil... I have always know this place was madness, but geeze I had no idea. As for not being wanted or having a purpose here: I know that when I have reported things in the past and present, things have been taken care of. Maybe some wee hours of the morning mods were not on to take care of it that second, but it always was repaired. Screw off flamers, these guys have probably done a lot more to keeping the forums clean then we will ever know. I hate to lose any of them

You are mistaken. The mods we have now were recommended by the older moderators.

Beat the alternative of just picking a few other active-posters and seeing how things went.

That may be so, but misacorp said that the decision to bring more mods in was not discussed before the selection process. I don't claim to know any more than that.
