As some of you may or may not have noticed, being a DK, there are a lot less priests to party with. Originally, the Priest's training locations would look something like this: Wraiths->Zombies->DT*->MDT*/Goby->Grims->Himes (?) Now, with the new maps, they look more like this: vHoodoo-> Himes*-----> Become a Bishop and make DKs your slaves... *= Partying with a DK. What I had planned to do, was make a very compatible guide, which would be helpful to ALL Dragon Knights. I hope that you will appreciate this and gain some sort of knowledge after reading it. 1) 300 Honsters per Hour is considered high. Going down by 60 will get you medium, and another 60 less, will be low. 2) Mana pots are not included since there are varying pots used among all the DKs. The net loss might be lower since some spots drop Mana Elixers. 3) The reason I listed the Spear/PA choice is for any confused hybrid users, as to which weapon they might want to use. 4) The accuracy listed in the training sections are ONLY FOR THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL! 5) For those who use a mount: If you ever train in Leafre, remember that there are Gophers that can stun you if they hit you. While normally this is just an annoyance,THIS IS BAD NEWS IF YOU'RE ON A MOUNT. Mounts don't let you use potions, which will kill you if stunned. To avoid death, right click on your Mount "Buff" on the top right corner of your screen, and pot. If you plan to go earlier, or are confused as to how well you would perform at a certain map, use this very useful accuracy calculator.----->Accuracy Calculator For those who are reading it for the first time, watch out! It's a long block of text. D:< I've prepared some special tips to search through the guide with ease. All this is simply done by pressing CTRL+ F After that, simply type in what you're looking for. Some things you might be looking for: PA>Spear Spear>PA [Insert monster name] Everything else should be straight forward and/or found in the Table of Contents. So finally, you're a Dragon Knight. =D Let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your 3rd job advancement. Anyways, I'm sure you quite curious as to where you would train now, and what you would do with your new found skills. Generally, the training spots and builds aren't different, but you'll train so much faster with Crusher and Fury, and a bunch of new spots open up for you. For those who aren't a Dragon Knight yet, refer to this if you need advice on Spearmen.---->Spearman Guide NOTICE: THESE BUILDS ARE ONLY A RECOMMENDATION BY ME! Generally though, benefits will not be seen until the 4th job or bossing. Points were taken out of Sacrifice, Dragon Blood, and Spear Fury. Big thank you to Blazes/WolfJounin for these builds! The choice of of whether maxing Dragon Blood has always been a great controversy. However, this section is dedicated in explaining the Pros and Cons of Dragon Blood, and whether it is an applicable choice for each build. Something that everybody should remember is that Beholder's Buff does NOT stack with Dragon Blood! Dragon Blood Level 20: MP -24 HP -20 every 4 seconds; Attack +12 for 160 seconds Warrior Elixers 5000 meso each; Attack +12 for 480 seconds First of all, I'd like to point out that the HP drain is very negligible. Seeing as how we're all Dragon Knights who receive thousands of damage, what's the matter with only losing 800? Next, going with Dragon Blood instead of Warrior Elixers will save you mesos, but not to the point where it'll be noticable in the short run. As said before: Anoymonous said: "If you can't afford Warrior Elixers, you've got a bigger problem." For 1 Warrior Elixer, it is equal to casting Dragon Blood 3 times. 5K for 8 minutes vs. -172 MP -2.4K HP from Dragon Blood. Obviously, you would heal much more than just 2.4K HP with a single honster, which costs 2.8K meso. Now for the psychological aspect: Warrior Elixers have many positives consisting of; Used as a time measurement of a training spot, Cannot be dispelled, Lasts full 8 minutes before needing to be re-cast, and saves you 20 SP Dragon Blood on the other hand, have positives which are listed as: Saves Use slot, Saves some money, Unlimited re-use, Saves your a trip to NLC to repot. ( The last one can be disregarded, seeing as how you'll have to go to NLC for Honsters and Supreme Pizzas anyways. ) Finally, the effect it would have on builds. Pure Spear users are most likely out of all the ones listed above, to go with Dragon Blood, seeing as there are no other skills that are more important. Pure Polearms come as second, but would need to sacrifice SP from Polearm Crusher. Hybrids would be MUCH better off not getting Dragon Blood at all in my opinion. A couple problems will come up from choosing to max Dragon Blood: -No Spear Fury for mobbing -Lower level Sacrifice So at the end of the day, the choice whether to max Dragon Blood draws from your Build and personal preferences. Ah, Dragon Roar... The Dragon Knight's signature move..( At least I think so. ;D ) All in all, this is a great skill for warriors, but not the greatest when it comes to training. There have been a couple ideas that one should max Dragon Roar before 100. Of course this is not a very applicable idea...I'll list why: 1) There are ideas that if you have 2 DKs and a cleric/priest to heal each, maps such as Red/Black Kents and Blue/Black Kents would be a very great training spot. This is true, however, isn't it hard enough finding 1 priest to party with, much less 2 priests, and another DK who happened to go Roar early? 2) Your training from 80-100 ( Assuming you maxed Fury or Crusher ) will be VERY slow since you spent 10 levels strengthening a skill useless for training. 3) The scenario listed in #1 has only been a proven method in JMS. 4) It is completely useless until it is Level 21. There are bonuses to getting Dragon Roar though. 1) No other warrior gets a skill like it. ( Shout is for stun only. ) 2) 400% Range? Pretty good if you want to mob something. 3) Great for showing off, and the occasional KS war. 4) Very useful for killing those bombs in Pap. Seeing those 2 different views, it is obvious that Dragon Roar is one of those "must have" type of skills, but only later on when all your core skills are maxed. All of the builds above have listed Dragon Roar as something to be maxed by the time you're level 100. Note: Do not get lvl 1 Dragon Roar "just for looks." I did that personally, and it just gave me 2 weak skills and wasted 4 SP which could have been used to help give me a stronger Dragon Blood earlier... If you are going to ever start on your Dragon Roar, do not just leave it before maxing it. If this is unavoidable for any reason, at least get it to Lvl. 21 minimum. Dragon Roar friendly maps I'm sure once you've finally maxed this skill, you'd like to use it to your full ability. Be warned though, you will drain pots unless you have a cleric/priest nearby... These are some maps that I have deemed to be very good for maxed Dragon Roar: Map: Entrance to Sky Nest Monster(s):Hafs, Birks Map:Area of the Red Kentaurus Monster(s):Red Kentaurus Map:Battlefield of Fire and Darkness Monster(s):Red Kentaurus,Black Kentaurus Map:Battlefield Of Water and Darkness Monster(s):Blue Kentaurus,Black Kentaurus - As a last note, if you have a level 6 Dragon Roar, that will be enough to hit both Pirates above you in PPQ. Although the downside is that you still have the 4 second stun, and it drains a lot of HP. Stun This is one of Dragon Roar's draw backs... Quite a pain in the butt. For those who are working on their Dragon Roar, I have listed the levels where the stun time decreases. Level 1: HP -59%, MP -16; Basic attack 96%, range 110%, stunned for 4 seconds Level 11: HP -49%, MP -24; Basic attack 155%, range 210%, stunned for 3 seconds Level 21: HP -39%, MP -30; Basic attack 204%, range 310%, stunned for 2 seconds Recommended Level:70 Monster:Straw Target Dummy Map:Practice Field:Beginner Experience per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: Both Spear=PA Pot Usage: Hardly Any Notes: I'm sure that many people are quite sick of this place, or is very shocked that I put this in. The thing is that this is still a great map during your 7x. You'd still be using PS and SB, so the 3rd job advancement wouldn't make that big of a difference. With your level 70 Gear *considering that you aren't dexless*, you should using almost 0 pots, and if you are using any, it should probably be white pots from drops. By the time your Fury or Crusher is at the point where they are your main attack *Level 15*, you should probably move on to FoG, as you'll notice how low the exp rate has dropped. Don't expect to stay here longer than a couple levels. If you do, do so only to save money cure boredom. Recommended Level: 70 Monster:Gryphon Map:Mountain Cliffs Experience per Hour: +20%/hr* Spear/PA: Both, PA> Spear Pot Usage: Medium-High* Notes: A much more technically challenging map. The asterik (*) represents how inaccurate this is, as this will depend entirely on your ability to handle the map. A mediocre effort will only produce mediocre results, such as pot burning and low experience. For those who are able to handle this place, expect your pot usage to go down gradually as your mobbing skills grow stronger. For Spear Users: Once again, have at least 1 in Spear Fury, or else you will have issues. This is a simplified mini-map drawn by AznForSell.----->Follow these lines. Recommended Level: 70 Monster:Dark Stone Golem, Mixed Golem Map:Forest of Golem, A.K.A. FoG Experience per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: Low-Medium Accuracy Recommended: 73! Notes: One of the most underrated maps ever. A very simple map, yet holds potential to yield great amounts of experience and profit. Even at high levels, it is a good source of money. If you are soloing, simply go around, killing everything in your path. If you are going to party or share the map, I suggest taking the 3rd platform. The bottom one is your 2nd choice. This is an excellent rendition of what I am explaining.----->Read the points. Your pot usage will drop down dramatically, as you begin to cut through these golems like butter. Recommended Level: 72 Monster:Water Goblin ( A.K.A. Kappas ), Samiho Map:Vanished Village Experience per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: High Accuracy Recommended: 103! Notes: IN NO CIRCUMSTANCES, ARE YOU TO GO TO THE NEXT MAP! When you die, hear that little voice in the back of your head? That's me saying: I told you so. Samiho are a pain in the butt here, bring lots of All-Cures incase they curse you. Remember to kill them immediately! Mob the Water Goblins back and forth. They do drop quite a bit of mesos, along with some nice drops such as Overall LUK scrolls. Much easier to find a map here than vHoodoos. Recommended Level: 75 Monster:Voodoo & Hoodoo Map:Sophilia's Bedroom ( Voodoos ),Vanity Room ( Hoodoo ) Experience per Hour: ~20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA> Spear until lvl 75, then, Spear>PA Pot Usage: Low Accuracy Recommended: 80! Notes: This is by far the best monster that any class can train on. Lots of mesos, common NPC-able drops, small map. With those given reasons, you MUST beware of KSers. By the time you are 75, you'll easily fend off any class with your new skill. You may choose to go as early as 71 as it is still godly experience, but expect to lose your map if you are not prepared... Difference between the 2? Hoodoos spawn in a pre-determined location, whereas Voodoos are very random. For Spear Users: Have 1 in Spear Fury, just to mob them for simplicity. Recommended Level: 80 Monster:Death Teddy Map:Forgotten Path of time 3 Experience per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: Spear only Pot Usage:Low-Medium Accuracy Recommended: 118! Notes: Reason that this would be Spear only is that, PAs would be better off somewhere else, and the mobs aren't as large for maximum efficiency. You can save a lot of pots by dodging the Death Teddies, and their attacks. Trizan has made a extremely amazing video, as to show you how to do so.----->Instructional Video MAJOR thank you to Trizan! Recommended Level: 80 Monster:Kru, Captain Map:Red Nose Pirate Den 2 Experience per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: PA only Pot Usage: Medium Accruacy Recommended: 95! Notes: The reason that this is PA only is because: Crusher is too slow, crappy exp/hp ratio, spaced out large mobs, rendering Crusher less efficient. Mob back and forth. Drops and mesos will help make a large profit. Recommended Level: 83+ Monster: Dual Ghost Pirates Map: Unbalanced Time Experience Per Hour: +15%/hr Spear/PA: PA>Spear Pot Usage: Medium-High Accuracy Recommended: 115! Notes: I strongly recommend you do not train your DK at Duel Pirates. Given newer maps like Wolf Spiders, high-risk high-pay maps have gotten easier for DKs. The pay will be low, the pot cost high, and the exp is overshadowed by far more DK-friendly maps. Frankly, Duals are a DK's nightmare. They have high defense and high KB requirements. It's important to remember NOT to jump on a Duel map after attacking a nearby Duel. If you do, they fire their magic attack which you cannot avoid. This magic attack is also neutral, meaning elemental resist won't help you at all on this map. For Polearm DK's I suggest you follow the map's path, slowly making your way down. If you can hit constant 3.7k+'s with Fury then you'll be able to save alot of pots. Even if you cant KB the Duels, you can mob and kill them, its just slower and more costly. For Spear-DKs follow the same path but try to single out individual Duels. Try to maintain a constant distance with the Duel so it can't bump you with it's strong touch damage or snipe you with it's even stronger magic attack. Exp is a little slow because they'll be harder to kill. You may from time to time find Steelies here. The other drops are generally NPC-able garbage and you're far more likely to LOSE money here than earn it unless you're extremely lucky with steely drops. Recommended Level: 83 Monster: Wolf Spiders Map:Meso Gear Cavern Experience per Hour: ~20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA> Spear Pot usage: High Accuracy Recommended: 110! Notes: Expect to be burning money if you don't find any drops. However, if you do find anything, such as ilbi, you will be covered for a while. For PA DKs: Once you are able to 100% the WS, you should be able to save more money than Spear Users. Recommended Level: 85 Monster:Black Kentaurus Map: The Area of the Black Kentaurus Experience per Hour: ~18%/hr Spear/PA: Spear Only Pot Usage: Low Accuracy Recommended: 115! Notes: A slower, more money saving spot for those who don't want to burn too much pots. Time your jumps in order to avoid damage. ( Thank you Kaboose!) Mobs are generally 2-3, with the occasional 4 or more. PA users should consider Blue Kentaurus instead. Drops very nice items such as Beheader, Kage, and Red Craven. Go in a circle. Recommended Level : 85 Monster: Blue Kentaurus Map: The Area of the Blue Kentaurus Experience per Hour: ~20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: High Accuracy Recommended: 115! Notes: Great experience despite being KBed all the time. Come here if you're hunting for a FairFrozen or want a break from Wolf Spiders. Mob left to right, and alternate as you move up and down platforms. Recommended Level: 85 Monster: Red Kentaurus Map: Area of the Red Kentaurus Experience per Hour: +20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: High Accuacy Recommended: 115! Notes: This map is delicious for PA Fury. Much better than Blue Kents. Map has two platforms for Kent spawn. Top is slow spawn, but controls bottom platform. Mob the top once from one side to the other and kill. Then jump down and mob-and-kill the bottom platform about four times before going back to the top. On both the top and bottom platform there are ropes on either side. When you mob the enemy to either side, you can climb up the rope and wait for them to gather under you. Then jump down and Fury/Crusher them to death. Not only does this put them close enough for you to fight them in your range, rendering their spear throw's range ineffective, but it also does a second thing: Taking bump damage saves you money here. You WILL take damage. There's no avoiding that. Kents are resistant to being KB'd. Even if you do KB them, literally all it does is knockback. They don't flinch like other monsters if they're in the middle of an attack. Not only do you save 200-400 HP by forcing bump damage by staying close to them but you also keep them close enough so you don't have to worry about fighting through their spear throw. Recommended Level : 90 Monster: Goby, Bone Fish Map:Deep Sea Gorge II Experience per Hour: +20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: Medium Accuracy Recommended: 139! Notes: Move to next house if they cast W.Def buff, and try to kill Bone Fish in mobs, in order to save pots. Gain exp here only. For those Spear users: Make sure you have at least 1 in Spear Fury! You don't want to lose those Gobies now do you? Recommended Level: 90+ Monster: Squid,Risell Squid, Goby Map:Dangerous Sea Gorge I Experience per Hour: ~18%/hr Spear/PA: Spear Only Pot Usage: Low Accuracy Recommended: 139+! Notes: After receiving several reports about this place, I have come to very much enjoy this location as a solo spot. The Squids (Black) deal ridiciulously low damage, and are quite easy to kill. The only problems are that Risell Squids (Purple) are much harder to hit and kill, since their magic attacks deal a lot more damage. Money saving spot. Don't expect to get much drops from here. Avoid touch damage at all costs. Reason it's Spear only? The mobs range from 1-3, 90% of the time. Only time it's higher than 3 is at the very bottom. I suggest for Spear Users to mob them together, then kill to save pots. Recommended Level : 90 Monster:Hafs, Birks Map: Entrance to Sky Nest Experience per Hour: ~16%/hr Spear/PA:Both, Spear>PA Pot Usage: Low Accuracy Recommended: 103! Notes: Buy LOTS of Eyedrops. You will be spamming them often. 100 Eyedrops should last around an hour. Great drop from Birk. Higher consistancy of making mesos. If you did go Roar early, or just too lazy to train properly, stand on the middle platform with a cleric, and spam both Dragon Roar and heal. Loot every couple rounds. Recommended Level : 90+ Monster: Hafs, Blood Hafs Map: Sky Nest II Experience per Hour: 12%/hr Spear/PA: Both, Spear= PA Pot Usage: Medium Accuracy Recommended: 103! Notes: Personally, I don't like it for experience. Earhole has recommended this place for steelys though. Perhaps a better spot later. Buy lots of Eyedrops and Tonics to protect yourself. Recommended Level: 90+ Monster:Birks,Dual Birks Map:Forest Crossroad Experience per Hour:~18%/hr Spear/PA: both, Spear= PA Pot Usage: Medium Accuracy Recommended: 103 Description: Ignore what HiddenStreet says about monsters first of all. There are only Birks and Dual Birks here. A much easier version of Birks and Dual Birks. Recommended Level : 90+ Monster:Birks,Dual Birks Map:Valley of the Antelope Experience Per Hour: ~18%/hr Spear/PA: Both, Spear= PA Pot Usage: High Accuracy Recommended: 103! Notes: The absolute best place to go if you have 2x drop. Dual Birks drop some of the sexiest things ever...Zedbug, Pinaka, Ilbi...Their high def makes it very tough though. Mob each platform once, and proceed up and down. Try not to get stunned. Recommended Level: 95 Monster: Bain, Male Boss Map: Armory Experience per Hour: ~20%/hr Spear/PA: Both, PA>Spear Pot Usage: Very high Accuracy Recommended: 139! Notes: Newest map from Showa, and probably the only practical one for training. First thing you should know that ER is a VERY useful skill here. There are several platforms; all of them placed to the left half of the map. When you mob the Bains back and forth, try to stand and kill all the Bains on the platforms; it'll help save some pots in the long run. Seeing as how spawn is consistantly massive here, PAs would have a very fun time mobbing, KBing and killing these guys. Spear Users might be a little more challenged... Great map for those who miss Himes. Last note: Male Boss spawns directly in front 2 martial art statues every 10 minutes. Try to use his summons, or the Bains as a type of "damage shield" since he deals 4.5K damage. Recommended Level: 95+ Monster:Dreamy Ghost ( A.K.A. Himes ), Black Crow ( A.K.A. Tengu ) Map:Encounter with the Buddah Experience Per Hour: +20%/hr Spear/PA: PA>Spear Pot Usage: Medium-High Accuracy Recommended: 145! Notes: THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY POT DRAINER IF YOU'RE USING A SPEAR! Now, that I've turned away the Spear users, for those who are able to wield a PA, the technique is to run back and forth mobbing the Himes, while you back slash them. I recommend having a Normal Speed PA, and/or a speed set. A Red Surfboard helps the latter of those requirements. The pot usage will depend on how fast you kill them. Hopefully, you'll be able to KB the Himes quick enough to kill them before they attack you. This video made by WNxDeadA1m both simultaneously demonstrates and describes what I have already said.----->PA soloing Himes! Unfortunately for Spear users, the only option is kill them as fast as you can. xD Recommended Level: 97+ Monster:Blue Dragon Turtle, Red Dragon Turtle Map:Entrance to Dragon Forest Experience Per Hour: ~15%/hr Spear/PA: Both, Spear>PA Pot Usage: Low-Medium Accuracy Recommended: 136! Notes: This place has a very "menancing" atmosphere. A definite change from your typical Happy-Go-Lucky theme in MS. The mobs tend to group in bunches of 1-3, 4+ mobs usually appear at the middle platform to the left. I would suggest that you go in the clockwise motion, using the vines to move yourself to the platform on the right. Couple chances of getting some decent items like a Magicodar or Casters. You can save a lot of potions by dodging the Dragon Turtles' attacks. The first reaction after being attacked will be to buff themselves; either with a W.Atk up or Def.Up. Next one will definitely be a attack, so pay attention! Q: So after all this spots about soloing, what's up with this section? A: Well...you are a Dragon Knight after all. You could solo from 70-120, but that wouldn't be fun now would it? Before you keep reading though, please remember these things: 1) ALWAYS BE NICE YOUR PRIEST! Training with them is a privilage not a right. If your priest ditches you because you're a jerk...well that's just too bad. Please and thank you's are always appreciated. 2) Make sure to make it clear how drops are split. There might be some jerks who steal stuff and run away, but you'll lower the chances of a misunderstanding when you point this out before-hand. Some options are splitting profit no matter what the drop, or alternating drops with the first 1 being free for all. 3) Do not constantly scream for HS and bless! This goes back to #1. You wouldn't want your priest yelling at you for HB now do you? 4 Keep track of your own health. Whether a priest dies will usually not be your fault, unless you forget to HB them. However, if you die, it's 100% your fault under normal circumstances. Think about it...lose 2.8K meso or 10% exp? 5) Exp rates are not listed due to different people and their personal training tactics, equips, level, builds and such. The pot usage part is also taken out since...you have a priest. You can't really measure that. O____o;; 6) The Priest's Responsibilities part is to inform both newby priest and DKs. This way, you'll know what the priest should be doing. Remember, their responsibilities are not limited to what is listed. You might be asking why things like Heal, Bless, HS, stay alive aren't in there...but if a priest doesn't know that they should be doing that, then they have bigger problems to be worrying about... This is a detailed list of where to go, when to go, and what do to with a Priest! Recommended Level: 78 Monster: Death Teddy Map:Forgotten Path of time 3 Spear/PA: Spear>PA Accuracy required with Bless: 106! Description: Your basic DK-Priest training spot. Description: In a way, a combination of the Black Kent map and Blue Kent map. Watch out for Gophers, and don't be lazy about killing the top platform. You may also party with a I/L mage, since some do tend to train here. If you have a priest along as a threesome, have the I/L mage take the top if they are lower than 80. If they are 80 or above, team up on the Kents together. The Priest's Responsibilities : N/A Recommended Level: 83 Monster: Wolf Spiders Map:Meso Gear Cavern Spear/PA: PA>Spear Accuracy required with Bless: 90! Description: By partying with a priest here, you should not be losing any money. Wolf Spiders have excellent drop rates, and mesos are high as well. Couple that with the fact that you would not burn too many pots with a priest, automatic profit is guarenteed. Ilbis are the best drop here; however, remember to decide with your priest how you will split the profit. Too many stories of people backstabbing each other because of greed. The Priest's Responsibilities : Luckily, DKs will simply love you here. You have a choice of: 1) Following the DK where they go and healing them. 2) Finding 'safe' spots where you can heal with taking any damage. *Pictures to come...* I have found if the priest participates in some of the attacking ( With Magic Claw or H.A.) It helps a lot. The main spots would be when the DK mobs the top 2 legs; attack the mob with them. The next one is directly in the middle of the map, if there is a Wolf Spider on top of the sign. Remember though, healing comes first! Recommended Level : 90 Monster: Goby, Bone Fish Map:Deep Sea Gorge II Spear/PA: PA> Spear Accuracy required with Bless: 119! Description: This place is made especially for partying. If you choose to take on the map only with a priest, simply go around killing everything in your site. If you have anybody else, you are assigned 'platforms' in which you are responsible for. Assuming there is a priest in your party, they will not stay with you the whole time. Most likely they will swim up and down buffing everybody, or heal the strongest in the party. The Priest's Responsibilities : This map is filled with Bone Fish who are weak to Heal. You can heal both your party, while being able to help out offensively too. For DK/Priest duos, decide who will mob the Gobies after they fly out. 2 people trying to do so only messes up the DK's accuracy. Also, you should attack the Houses as well. It will really help your party increase training speed. Recommended Level : 90+ Monster:Birks,Dual Birks Map:Valley of the Antelope Spear/PA: Spear=PA Accuracy required without Bless: 83! Description: Birks and Dual Birks are a decent source of experience, but the drops should be the only reason you're here. For the DK: Omega Spear, Zedbug, Pinaka. For the Priest: Phoenix Wand, Dimon Wand. These are definitely rare...but worth it if you find something. The Priest's Responsibilities : N/A Recommended Level : 95+ Monster: Hafs, Blood Hafs Map: Sky Nest II Spear/PA: Spear=PA Accuracy required without Bless: 83! Description: This place isn't exactly the greatest for experience, but it is a decent place when you want to make money. There are several drops, namely Steelys which you could sell for money. Beware of the buffs that these Hafs cast. The Priest's Responsibilities : The main you'll be doing is: Dispel Dispel Dispel You're definitely going to be annoyed if you don't have a lot of patience Dispeling often. Recommended Level: 95 Monster: Bain, Male Boss Map: Armory Spear/PA: PA>Spear Accuracy required without Bless: 119! Description: After the new release of Showa, I immediately rushed to this place to test how it would be for Dragon Knights. Unfortunately, despite the great spawn and decent experience, the pot burn was enormous. Having a priest will definitely fix that problem. I've found that either mobbing back and forth is great for saving some pots while getting some exp. A better method would be to have both people stand in the middle, while killing any Bains near by. Once the spawn runs out or becomes low, the Priest should head to the left and mob back, while the DK goes in the opposite direction. Watch out for the Male Boss, as he does spawn every 10 minutes. For those 9x or lower DKs, you will be 2hko, while MG-less Priest will be 1hko. While this place does give good experience, you might as well go to Himes. This is the best alternative for those who want to Hime but cannot due to full maps or 2x exp events. 2x Exp Bains> Normal Himes The Priest's Responsibilities : Mob when necessary, stay away the moment you see the Male Boss. Try not to be too far so that you can't heal your DK. Recommended Level: 95+ Monster: Grim Phantom Watch Map: Forbidden Time Spear/PA: Spear>PA Accuracy required without Bless: 141! Description: This place is a type of 'old school' training ground, but very effective nevertheless. Basically, you would go in the counter-clockwise rotation, with the Priest mobbing the bottom. Try not to fall off the platforms; getting back up is a pain. The Priest's Responsibilities : Mob the bottom Recommended Level: 95+ Monster:Dreamy Ghost ( A.K.A. Himes ), Black Crow ( A.K.A. Tengu ) Map:Encounter with the Buddah SPear/PA: PA>Spear Accuracy required without Bless: 129! Description: Ah, Himes. The nonpareil training spot. This is where you should be ultimately aiming for. Because of the high spawn, flat map, and quick monsters for mobbing, Priests simply flock to DKs who come here. You are more likely to find a priest here than anywhere else. As for training here itself, there are 3 methods to do so. All 3 are listed in videos created by ILike24 and me. 1) DK on Standby 2) Side to Side 3) Middle Mob These 3 techniques are listed in order from lowest experience gained, to highest gained. Be warned though, do not move to the Middle Mob technique until you are 100+ because you'll be constantly swarmed with mobs that will slow down the overall spawn. Also, Black Crow spawns here occasionally, so be careful when you look for a map. The Priest's Responsibilities : Basically...Mobbing. The more detailed aspects of what you should do are in the videos above. Feel free to PM me with questions/advice/suggestions here!---->PM Xelstyle. PLEASE NOTE: I may not receive/respond your message immediately as I did before! HP Pots I'm sure most of you are thinking: Why compare HP pots? Honsters FTW! Of course that's true, but this is here to help you save the most mesos, and alert those lower level Spearman, on when to switch from Barbarian Elixers! First we'll start with Honsters vs. Barbarian Elixers. Honsters: Heals 60% HP for 2,800 meso Barbarian Elixers: Heals 1500 HP for 1,500 Meso. Assuming our DK has 7K HP, with HB at level 72, a single Honster will heal 4200 HP where as a single Barbarian Elixer would only heal 1500 HP. The bottom line for this is that you should switch over to Honsters, as soon as you have 4667* HP with HB in order to save mesos. *Thank you Skazo for the calculations. ^__^ MP Pot section This section is partially written by Annilihatron, as the rest is edited/added by me. Pre-NLC, each point of MP is worth 2 meso, prices increasing (then decreasing as approaching dews) as amounte healed goes up. Post-NLC, HP and MP are both worth 1 meso or less if you have sufficient numbers. Waffles = 600 meso = 300hp/mp Grilled Cheese = 1000 meso = 500 hp/mp Using these as MP pots are of 'normal' value, with free HP recovery. MP Elixer = 620 meso (or 587 in Ludi) = 300 MP Sorcerer Elixer= 1500 meso = 1500 MP All those pots are essentially the same if you use them exclusively for your MP. Waffles/Grilled Cheese vs. Mana Elixers/Pure Water vs. Supreme Pizza Mana Elixers will be the most common drop you'll receive from any kind of monster. However, buying them as your main MP pot will be very costly, as compared to other meso saving pots.... First of all, I grouped Waffles and Grilled Cheese together, because they both essentially are the same, costing 2 meso for 1 HP/MP. This goes for the same with Mana Elixers and Pure Water, since they're both 2 meso for 1 MP. Now if you display all 3 of the pots, and their corresponding costs, you would get: #1: Supreme Pizza-900HP, 600 MP for 1K meso #2: Waffles/Grilled Cheese-300HP/MP, 500HP/MP for 600 and 1K meso respectively. #3: Mana Elixers/Pure Water-300 MP for 620 (587 in Ludi) mesos. Sorcerer Elixers Now, I've received several comments regarding Sorcerer Elixers, and their usefuless. By comparing the Supreme Pizza, and Sorcerers, Supreme Pizzas are found to be the most profitable out of the 2. Supreme Pizza: 900 HP, 600 MP for 1K meso. Sorcerer Elixers: 1500 MP for 1.5K meso. Assuming at around 9x, our Dragon Knight will heal 5.5K HP with a honster, and have a max MP of 1K with HB, Supreme Pizzas are the best choice to go. Use-6 Supreme Pizzas for 6K meso, heal 5.4K HP, 3.6K MP. Use-2 Sorcerer Elixers for 3K meso, heal 3K MP. (Assume that an extra 600 MP was healed in order to balance the equation.) Cost now equals= 3.6K meso. Factoring in the amount of HP healed is practically the same as using a honster, you would then technically save 2.8K meso, changing Supreme Pizza's cost to 3.2K meso. In the end, Supreme Pizzas are the dominant choice when it comes to soloing, but lose their edge when you are partying with a priest. For partying with a priest, Sorcerer Elixers are the recommended choice. Supreme Pizzas will be the dominant choice, until you become a Dark Knight. Some key things about pots... -For those who are confused about when to switch pots, you should remember: As soon as possible! Even though you may spend more mesos doing so, it will help increase your training duration. -Those people buying Blue Pots and to an extent, Mana Elixers... *Smack* Stop buying those! D:< The time it takes you to heal your MP with those kind of pots, could have been halved easily if you used a more efficient choice. Though it isn't significant enough to notice, it is still a disadvantage. I'm sure that was quite a bit, but never fear! For those of you who are afraid of big walls of text, this summary will re-cap everything for you! HP Potions #1: Honsters #2: Pink Elixers ( Only when they are bought at 2,300 meso or less.) MP Potions Supreme Pizzas are your best friend! #1: Supreme Pizzas #2: Sorcerer Elixers ( They become the obvious choice as soon as you have ____ MP) *Need to calculate that. #3: Waffles/Grilled Cheese #4: Mana Elixers ( These probably should never be used, unless you're partying with a priest, and happen to have a bunch from drops.) Last notes: Switch to the best choice avaliable, A.S.A.P. More exp & slots in inventory> mesos! greenslayer6 said: " This is what the numbers are coming from, there are going to be lots of derivations" Yep. This guide is really for those new to being a DK, or Maple entirely. Being a veteran playing this game every since it was released after Beta, I'm pretty sure I know my way around most classes fairly well. =D Also, thanks Green. -In need of major re-organization/clean-up soon- New Blog: Goodbye Maple.

Also, I'm planning on a bit of a mini section for Dragon Roar and Dragon Blood. Might be a little controversal, but oh well. New Blog: Goodbye Maple.
supereric317 said: "can u make a spearman one?" I probably could... But the thing is, with all the PQs, one person could grind at Wild Boars or something until 35, MCPQ until 51, MPQ until 60, and grind at STDs or FoG. There really is no need for one when the PQs are better choices, assuming you get it. There is also a Spearman guide already sticked. New Blog: Goodbye Maple.
