Noob merchants screwed the economy

EDIT: Yes, I am aware that there are multiple other threads on this issue. However, all of the ones I saw were extremely misinformed, in my opinion. EDIT 2: I am also aware that the Maple Anniversary is part of this inflation. However, I feel that it is unnecessary for the greedy hogs who call themselves merchants to abuse the influx of eager scrollers that much Before you come flame me for this, at least read what I have... The problem is, the new idiots who read a merchanting guides don't KNOW anything about actual merchanting, they only know the basics. Yes, they know "buy low, sell high". However, in actuality, it's much more complicated than that. You see many noobs spamming B>SCROLLS@@@@@@@ in the FM, and when you trade them, they offer outrageously low prices. I have a gut feeling that these are the same noobs with 2-3mil higher than normal prices in their FM stores, too... These new noob merchants are ruining it for the proer merchants who actually know what they're doing, since they're buying out all the scrolls and the scrolls end up sitting there in the shops being unsold. This causes richer people to just buy the scrolls due to impatience for new supply, which in turn, raises the price of things. (You walk up to a store and see a glove attack sold for 10 mil *This is impossible, I know.. Just making my point* This makes you, in turn, feel that you can sell glove attacks for around 10mil, too, and it would be sold. This ends up raising the prices... Before you people start saying that's what merchants do, this is NOT what they do. They don't raise prices again and again. They buy low, and sell at a flat rate. They don't increase the prices of which they sell items. They watch the economy, and keep their prices a bit above average. The noob merchants are the ones selling really high, and causing the economy to skyrocket. Jihadi said: "It's not just "n00b merchants" as you put it. Granted, I'm sure some people do take advantage of the market like that, raising prices by buying out supplies, the fact of the matter is, LPQ was a source for a LOT of scrolls. Now almost no one LPQs, much less scrolls coming into circulation. MTS takes out even more scrolls, there's usually like, 40+ pages of overpriced scrolls of any "common" kind, (60% claw, or staff, w/e), that just sit there and rot. Much much less supply, perhaps even more demand, especially with the new Maple items, and people wanting to scroll them. Be glad you're not on Kradia, 20mill + for 30% claw scrolls, like, 8-10 mill for 60%s, 3 mill + 60% spears, it's sick." This person makes a good point, too. However, the "some people" who take advantage of this are the greedy baboons who only care about their personal profit, and not the welfare of others. When I was merchanting, I made it a point to try to buy lower, and sell a tiny bit higher... I never put items for more than 1mil above regular prices in my stores, since I know what it's like to be poor...

Noobs ruin everyhing. What do you expect from them?
everyone is getting mad and upset about the prices in a few months the economy will crash or we will join in on their ridiculous prices and start selling stuff for way more than it needs to be sold for

well guys all i can say is i guess just try to find some way around this like getting a low lvl guild and lpqing. thats what im gonna do.
I agree, if the prices keep going up eventualy100% overall dex is gonna be worth like 20 mil! (exageration) This is unfair to anyone who is in say the first job or beginning second job because they wont be able to get anything! But its not just people who sell high its people who sell stuff outrageesly low too! I mean I bought my tobis for about 1mil a few months ago, today im trying to sell because I have ilbis and I get like 10 freaking offers of 200k! WTH I mean there are just as many noobs selling stuff for like 50mil as there are trying to buy for 5k! This is a serious issue to the economy also.

Deal with it but seriously i found like 10 claw for attack 60% scrolls sold all for like 5 mill each the store was sold out
Blame the anniversary since the new stuff came in people have been buying scrolls out to scroll things. Claw scrolls have taken a massive hit rising by 2-3mill

I agree with you, but sadly, they are not breaking any rules and we can't do anything about it.

I dont know if you were around when they used to sell for 180m. 10 att wgs wwere 100m and os on. before dark scrolls came out everything was redicously expensive. After the dark scrolls came out everything dropped. now they are slowly going up in price again. eventually they will drop again. stop complaining about this issue. Im a merchanter too and the way i did it when people started raising the prices in khaini, i would just sell lower than everyone and still made a profit. buy a scroll for 2m and resell it for 2.4m or even 2.3m. Do this with like 20 scrolls a day and you will be making huge profits. theres nothing you can do about increases prices, just try and accomodate to them and if you cant then just stop merchanting. thats the way it is.
I respectfully disagree with you, first of all the merchanters who you say are noobs, are actually the real merchanters, they in many cases have 10+ mules with 2 bill on each. But the people who stand in FM literally all day and say "B>SCROLL@@@" arn't merchanters, you can call them that if you'd like but it's actually about a dozen at most people who do it on Bera at least, and they are meso farmers not merchanters, some of them are extremely high levels 150+ who do that to fund their characters and get godly equips, others sell those mesos for real money on websites. I know this is a fact because I used to know someone who did this.Those people are the real merchanters, and anyone else are the copycats who try to be like them but make no amazing profits. If you don't know how to walk into fm with 50k, and 2 hours later come out with 50 mill, you're not a merchanter, you're a wanna-be. Register / login
