PurpleMonk's Short Guide to Priest Training at Dreamy Ghosts

Since a majority of a Priest’s training time is spent at Dreamy Ghosts or as they are called in GMS, Himes, I decided to create a guide for Priests who want to train there with a DK or go solo. Later on this guide may comprise of other training areas for the Priest.

Party Priest Skill Build

For your information all skill builds in this guide are exclusively thought up of by me, so I am not forcing you to follow them, they are just my recommendations. Also, it is crucial that you max Heal (duh), Invincible, Bless, and Magic Guard in your 1st and 2nd job advancements. It’s very beneficial to max MP Eater as well.

Skill Build:

70: +1 SR
71: +3 Dispel
72 - 81: +3 HS (Maxed)
82 - 87: +3 ER
88: +2 ER (Maxed), +1 Door
89 - 93: +3 Dispel
94: +2 Dispel (Maxed), +1 SR
95 - 103: +3 SR (Maxed)
104: +1 SR (Maxed), +2 SD
105 - 113: +3 SD
114: +1 SD (Maxed), +1 Doom, +1 Door
115: +2 Door, +1 Doom
116: +2 Doom, +1 Door
117: +2 Door, +1 Doom
118: +2 Doom, +1 Door
119: +2 Door, +1 Doom
120: +2 Doom, +1 Door

Final Outcome:

Maxed ER
Maxed Dispel
11 Door
Maxed HS
Maxed SR
10 Doom
Maxed SD

[header]Solo Priest Skill Build[/center]
Again, this skill build was solely thought up of by me. You pretty much do the same thing as a party Priest except you max SR earlier since you can’t solo efficiently until at least level 95+.

Skill Build:

70: +1 SR
71: +3 Dispel
72 - 81: +3 HS (Maxed)
82 - 90: +3 SR
91: +2 SR (Maxed), +1 SD
92 - 100: +3 SD
101: +2 SD (Maxed), +1 ER
102 – 107: +3 ER
108: +1 ER (Maxed), +2 Dispel
109 – 113: +3 Dispel (maxed)
114: +2 Door, +1 Doom
115: +2 Doom, +1 Door
116: +2 Door, +1 Doom
117: +2 Doom, +1 Door
118: +2 Door, +1 Doom
119: +2 Doom, +1 Door
120: +2 Door, +1 Doom

Final Outcome:

Maxed ER
Maxed Dispel
11 Door
Maxed HS
Maxed SR
10 Doom
Maxed SD

Party Training

As I said, this is so far only a guide for training at Himes which may be upgraded when I have the time with other training spots as well. There are 3 main ways of training here with a DK that I have encountered.

• Recommended Level: 80+
Monster: Dreamy Ghosts (Himes), Black Crow
Map: Encounter with the Buddha

Training Method #1: Standing DK Hime Training

Recommended Attacker: 90+ Spear DK/100+ PA DK
Experience Per Hour: 35 - 40% (At levels 90 - 100 this will die down to about 25 - 30%)
Pot Costs: minimal
About: This is the most commonly used pattern of Hime training. The DK stands on either the left or right side of the map while the Priest rounds up the Himes and brings them back to the DK. Repeat.
Instructional Video: MapleStory - Standing DK Hime Training Guide

Training Method #2: Sweeping Pattern of Hime Training

Recommended Attacker: 90+ Spear DK/100+ PA DK
Experience Per Hour: 45 - 50% (At levels 90 – 100 this will die down to about 30 – 35%)
Pot Costs: minimal
About: This quite similar to “Standing DK Hime Training”, but instead of the DK staying on one side he/she follows you while only the Priest mobs and you would alternate sides on which you kill the mob. Sometimes if the DK is a talkative one with buddies or whatnot, they will not like this way because they don’t get the time of you mobbing for them in method #1 which they can use to talk. =P
Instructional Video: MapleStory - Sweeping Pattern of Hime Training Guide

Training Method #3: Middle Mob Hime Training

Recommended Attacker: 90+ PA DK/ 100+ Spear DK
Experience Per Hour: 55 - 65% (At levels 90 – 100 this will die down to about 30-40%)
Pot Costs: minimal
About: The DK stands in the center while the Priest teleports from side to side healing Himes and when the Priest teleports pasts the middle of the map all of the Himes that are pursuing him/her will be killed by the DK (It’s best to have a strong PA DK for this method). The DK might not like this method due to the amount of pots that he/she has to use. Also, with a spear DK you might have to stand in the middle as you go from side to side because the Himes will follow you. If you have a PA DK who can hit 6 monsters you can proceed straight to the other side because the DK can knockback the Himes.
Instructional Video: MapleStory - Middle Mob Hime Training Guide

Training Method #4: Middle Mob Hime Training V2

Recommended Attacker: 13x–14x+ Shadower
Experience Per Hour: 40 – 45% (This was at level 96)
Pot Costs: minimal
About: I call it middle mob training, but honestly I believe that you should let the Shadower take advantage of his speed and be able to move around killing Himes whenever he sees them. The Priest will just mob side to side while the Shadower navigates around the whole map and kills the monsters. Skrato also pointed out that doing the side to side method with a Shadower is great experience as well. My experiences show otherwise, but it may be different for you.

Overall Advice on the Training Methods:

I fiercely advise that you train at Himes without Magic Guard unless you are very well funded and won’t mind spending 1.5 – 2m an hour. Also, keep in mind that these %/hr’s are based on my experiences and you should get roughly the same amount if you do it the same way I did in the movies. The pot costs correspond to what I usually pay. MP eater is helpful to you too, with it you will never have to use an MP pot unless you have MG on.

By the way, I took out the pot costs and just made them all say minimal because the amount of money you spend at Himes without MG on is really up to you and your skill level of being able to dodge the Himes when you cast buffs.

Solo Hime Training

• Recommended Level: 95+
Monster: Dreamy Ghosts (Himes), Black Crow
Map: Encounter with the Buddha

Solo Training Method: Telecasting SR Back and Forth Hime Training

Experience per Hour: 28-32% (Will slowly go down as you level)
Pot Costs: 500-600k
About: In solo training for Himes you telecast backwards to avoid the Himes attack. It is the most expensive since you must use MG. The only way you would not have to use MG at level 95 is if you have HP equips or have HP washed in the past. Using HP equips while soloing is highly unfavorable because you won’t hit nearly as much damage leading to getting only 10% an hour.

Description About the Instructional Videos

Training Method #1: Left or Right Mob Training

You can perceive in this training method that you hardly ever get hit while casting HS thus making it the most money-friendly way to train. Once again, the DK just stands on one side of the map and you teleport to the other side and back gathering the Himes. Once you get back to your DK you cast your buffs and kill the mob, then repeat.

Training Method #2: Left to Right Mob Training

It’s evident that this training method is a lot faster in terms of experience, but has the downfall of you and your DK not having that “special” time to cast buffs before the mob comes. In the video you might be able to notice that I am casting HS near the end when there aren’t many Himes around. If you get hit by one of the Himes just make sure you use one of those trusty Barbarian Elixirs!

Training Method #3: Middle Mob Training

This is the most expensive training method for the DK and Priest if they are partying. The Priest teleports from side to side healing Himes and when the DK can he/she kills them. Again, if you get hit by one of the Himes use a Barbarian Elixir.

Solo Training Method: Telecasting SR Back and Forth

There is only one way to solo Himes efficiently as a Priest and it is high-priced. Get over it! By the time you are level 95 the experience per hour with a DK is getting slooooow and soloing is a great option. For this to work to the full potential it is conclusive that you have at least average equips, if not, scrolled. Hopefully the video is self explanatory and I don’t need to explain it further.

What Pots Should I be Using for the MP I Have?

It’s perfectly understandable if you’re not sure what pots you should use to get the best meso to MP ratio so I’m determined to make a section that will help many of you. I am going to sort this not by your level, but by the total MP you have. Another nice thing is that, as a Priest, you don’t have to worry about the amount that pots heal to HP because we have Heal.

XXX - 1499 MP: Waffles = 300 HP and 300 MP for 600 mesos. It’s a 1:1 ratio for MP and HP healed for each meso spent (At this MP you won’t have a good heal yet so you need these for a while)

1500 – 4666 MP: Sorcerer Elixirs = 1500 MP for 1500 mesos. It’s a 1:1 ratio for MP to each meso spent. Now you don’t need HP pots anymore so use these.

4667 – 30000 MP: Mana Bulls = 60% MP for 2800 mesos. It’s a 1:1 ratio for MP to each meso spent to start and at 30k MP it’s a .156 meso to MP ratio.

It seems like I made a mistake earlier on. Mana Bulls are actually the best pots to be using from 4667 MP all the way until max MP(30k).

Keep in mind that these are only the pots to use while you are training at Himes. By the way you should always have Barbarian Elixirs at Himes (Remember? When you get hit while casting HS you need to use one of these). I know that you won’t be going to Himes with 1xxx MP, but I still included those pots to help clerics earlier. As someone mentioned, you can also use the Ramen drops instead of Barbarian Elixirs. Apparently they heal 1500 HP as well.

Other Advice

*The Golden Rule:* “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This basically means treat the DK with respect if you want respect returned. If you don’t want the DK to shout commands out at you, then don’t shout commands out at him/her. Use as much common sense as you possibly can (Think before you act).

Before you enter a map it’s wise to have MG on until you check the whole map to make sure it is clear of Black Crow. Be courteous to other Hime trainers…we don’t want to start fights.

If you are training at Himes with anyone but a DK or yourself get enough HP from equips to be able to take a hit from them and then use the “Standing DK Hime Training” method except with whatever class you have.

Idk if the maker even edits the guide anymore but I would like to inquire why the recommended training partner is 90+ Spear DK/100+ PA DK.
A PA DK would train faster than a Spear DK because they have Fury which hits 5-6 targets for more damage overall on large mobs and therefore better training for the priest. Also Hybrids have both options but generally also pick PA Fury to train with for all of 3rd job.

First of all, thanks for all your support. For the record, however, I made this guide over one year ago(same time I quit my Bishop) and sections of it may be outdated (the pot section for example) and I'm not updating it anymore. Although, the training methods to be used at Himes are still the ones I have described here.

Isn't it better for a priest to go max door and only 1 for doom? Just for fun?
