Welcome to my bandit-training guide! Here you can find all the bandit training advice you’ll ever need… as long as you’re under level 70. XD Three Things You Should Read Before Flaming This Guide I realize that there are other bandit training guides on Basil. However, I don't really like any of them. So I decided to write my own. Yes, like 70% of this guide is copy-pasted from my assassin training guide. But that is because most training spots in MS are applicable by all jobs and there is really no need for class-specific description. Therefore, it would be a huge waste of my time to rewrite everything. Now, at first glance, it may seem like my guide was COMPLETELY copy-pasted. But that's not true; read it before you flame please. Deciphering the Code Before we get to the training spots, it would probably be beneficial for you to know how to interpret the guide. So here’s a handy cross-section that describes every part of each section: Title: The title of each section holds the map name of the training spot and the recommended levels to train there. Though there are a wide variety of bandits, I based the level range mainly on semi-funded regular-dex bandits. Super-funded and dexless bandits can skip a few levels ahead of the range; unfunded reular-dex bandits may want to wait behind. Monsters: This part tells you what monsters in the map so you can look them up on Hidden-Street to see if you can kill them. Description: The description is the part that really matters. If you can only read one thing in each section, read this. This tells you what’s good about the map, what’s bad, how to train there, etc. Crowds: This rating tells you how many people are normally training in the map per world. A map with a crowd rating of “very high” means you may never find a spot there. “High” maps are also pretty difficult to find empty channels in. You shouldn’t have much of a problem finding a spot in a map with a “moderate” rating. “Low” means very few people train in this map, and it’s possible for you to never see a person training in a “very low” map. Exp: The Exp rating tells you the amount of exp you’ll probably get from a certain map. Ten out of ten is the highest and one out of ten is the lowest. Money Gain:[/b] This rating tells you the amount of money gain you can expect from training in the described map, It ranges from “high” to “negative” (negative means you’ll be losing money). Henesyes Hunting Ground I (Level 10-30) Monsters: Red snails, blue snails, shrooms, slimes, orange mushrooms, stumps, green mushrooms Description: Henesyes Hunting Ground I is very crowded, so you probably shouldn’t train here if you reside in a big server (Scania, Bera, Windia, Broa). Anyways, stay on the bottom level (snails and shrooms) of the Hunting Ground from levels 10-15. The second level is an alternative to the Slime Tree and should be trained at from levels 13-18. The 3rd level (orange mushrooms and stumps) is good during levels 15-20. The top level (green mushroom and stumps) is the most crowded and is not recommended. If you just have to go there, you can start training there at level 23 and stay all the way to level 30. Crowds: Very high Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Henesyes PQ (Level 10-20) Level Limit: 10+ Description: If you don’t know how to do the Henesyes Party Quest, refer to this guide: link Because you’re no use in HPQ until level 20 or so (when the exp gets lousy), you’ll probably be doing either Lure or Smuggle PQ most of the time. In Lure PQ, summon the bunny and have a warrior in your party slash blast all the monsters approaching the bunny with a low-attack weapon. The attack will lure away the monsters, but not kill them. Since there’s a limit to the amount of monsters in the map at one time, nothing will spawn as long as the warrior keeps using slash blast. This type of PQ is advantageous for low-level characters, since they can sit on their butts and do nothing the whole time. Smuggle PQ is against the ToS, so I can’t tell you how that works. Both types of HPQ give great experience and are excellent alternatives to training. Unfortunately, it’s really hard to enter HPQ in most worlds and even harder to get into a good party. Entrance Difficulty: High Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Nonexistant (unless you enter the bonus stage) Slime Tree (Level 13-18) Monsters: Slimes Description: The slime tree is awesome: awesome spawn, awesome exp. You HAVE to go here. The slimes tend to gather in mobs, so, even with double stab’s lousy range, the monsters are easy pickings. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Pig Beach (Level 16-23) Monsters: Pig, Ribbon Pig, Iron Pig Description: Pig Beach is extremely good exp at lower levels, if you can afford to train there. At level 18, the exp will start to slow down, but it’ll still be the best place available for a while. The map is relatively flat, so if you can find a channel (Pig Beach is pretty crowded) training here shouldn’t be very hard. Just kill everything in your path. If you can't afford enough pots to take the beating of the pigs, let someone else take over the main part of the map and just train on the upper right hand platform. The there spawn is good, but less harsh than the rest of Pig Beach. Make sure to watch out for the iron pig that spawns here every hour. Crowds: High Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Low link Caution Falling Down (Level 21-30) Monsters: Octopus, Blue Mushroom Description: Caution Falling Down is part of the massive influx of hidden-streets released in Patch 0.49. It has an extremely good spawn of Octopuses and Blue Mushrooms, which are usually very rare monsters. This means the map is both a good training spot AND a great place to pick up on quests. Caution Falling Down is very crowded, but that's usually not much of a problem since you can just share the two-platform map. Both platforms are relatively small, so it shouldn’t take too much effort to train here, even with double stab. Crowds: High Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Outside East Entrance of Ariant (Level 23-30) Monsters: Desert Rabbit (F), Desert Rabbit (M) Description: Outside East Entrance of Ariant is mostly flat and has good spawn, even though it’s really big. The map is right next to Ariant (hence the name), so refilling your potions is easy. You can start training here once you can 1-hit KO a Desert Rabbit (F) 100% of the time. Crowds: Unconfirmed Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate Dungeon, Southern Forest IV (lvl 23-30) Monsters: Horned Mushroom, Green Mushroom, Slime Description: Contrary to popular belief, this is the best training one can get once you can 1-hit KO these 100% of the time. The map is very narrow, so training with double stab is much easier than usual. Unless you need money, this is infinitely better the Kerning PQ. It’s not very crowded here, so finding a channel shouldn’t be a problem. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Kerning PQ (Level 23-30) Level Limit: 21-30 Description: Kerning PQ is a great way to gain mesos (I made my first 5 mil from here) and is pretty good exp if your leader is a godly clicker. The PQ is pretty crowded in most worlds, so entering may prove difficult for some. If you can’t enter within 3-4 tries, I suggest you stop trying. Bandits can start Pqing at about Level 25; less if you’re funded. Guide: link Entrance Difficulty: High Exp: 7/10 (but those are some niceee rewards) Money Gain: High Ant Tunnel I (Level 26-35) Monsters: Horned Mushroom, Zombie Mushrooms Description: Since this place is crowded in most servers, finding a channel may be hard. Zombie mushrooms and horned mushrooms have better Hp:exp ratios than boars, so this place is very good exp for those who can’t 1-hit KO boars 100% of the time yet. Though the bottom level gives the best exp, it’s the most crowded part of the map and is full of Ksers. Since bandits are ridiculously easy to KS, I suggest you start at one of the higher levels, eventually working your way down to the bottom. Crowds:Very high Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Orbis Tower 20th Floor (lvl 28-38) Monsters: Jr. Sentinel Description: Due to the map’s narrow design, easy-to-kill mobs of Jr. Sentinels often form, making this place a good alternative to boars and the Ant Tunnel. Jr. Sentinels have slightly worse Hp:exp ratios than boars, but they drop more mesos and have less weapon attack, making them ideal for those low on cash. The place isn’t very crowded either. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 7/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Perion Excavation Site III (Level 23-40) Monsters: Rocky Mask, Wooden Mask Description: Once you start 2-hit KOing Wooden Masks 100% of the time, Excavation Site III will be a great training spot for many levels. In the beginning, training here will be expensive, but once you can 1-hit KO the masks, things get much easier. To train, I suggest circulating in a circle to maintain the map; the upper platforms start hogging all the spawn if you only train on the lowest level (the one with the best spawn). Crowds: Low Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: Low link Land of the Wild Boar II (Level 28-40) Monsters: Wild Boar, Dark Axe Stumps, Axe Stumps Description: The reason this map is better than Land of Wild Boar I (not included in this guide because it sucks) is because there are no Jr. Boogies here, it’s less crowded, and the map is smaller. And just like its crappier counterpart, the spawn is good and the monsters are the same. Once you can 1-hit KO these 100% of the time the exp will probably be your best for quite a while. The map is easy to train at because of the small platforms, though boars move really fast. To maintain the spawn, move along the map in a clockwise motion Crowds: Low Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Monster Carnival PQ (lvl 30-45) Level Limit: 30-50 Description: Carnival PQ pwns. Seriously. The PQ is party-verse-party, and there are three party rooms, which means it's 6 parties per channel. This makes Carnival PQ much, much easier to enter than Ludi PQ, the only other decent PQ option. If you win, you usually get 20-30k exp, and if you lose, you usually get 5-10k exp. Each PQ is exactly 10 minutes, so if your leader is a good clicker and you get lucky, you can easily get 50%+ an hour here. In case you don't know, that exp is AMAZING, considering that most PQs rarely yield more than 20-30% an hour. Plus, Rooms 3 and 4 are PERFECT for training bandits. And Carnival PQ monsters drop Maple coins, which you can exchange for level 30-50 weapons. So if you're poor, this PQ will serve as an easy way to get the equips you need without paying. If you're not poor, you can still make the exclusive Spiegelman necklace, which is worth a LOT. So what the hell are you waiting for? Go out there and PQ! Guide: link Entrance Difficulty: Very low Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: High Purple Plains (Level 30-50) Monsters: Sakura Cellions, Wooden Stumps Description: The Sakura Cellions of Purple Plains drop huge amounts of cash and have awesome spawn. Once you can 1-hit KO these, they’ll be the best exp for many levels forth. And even if you can’t 1-hit KO, you can still get a lot of money here. Unfortunately, because of all these reasons, Purple Plains is extremely crowded in most of the servers. Crowds: Very high Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: High link Cave of the Evil Eye I-IV (Level 32-40) Monsters: Evil Eye, Jr. Boogie Description: This is one of the places in MS where training without a ranged attack isn’t a disadvantage. The map is extremely narrow, and the spawn is very high. Double Stab does a very good job of killing the mobs here. To train here, start at the top, and kill your way down. Then go to the Cash Shop for a few seconds. Once you come out, you’ll land back on the top of the map. P.S. Watch out for the Jr. Boogies. Crowds: Low Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: Low Royal Catthus Desert (Level 33-40) Monsters: Royal Cactus Description: Royal Catthus Desert is small and flat, a basis for many training spots. The spawn is decent, so you’ll probably always be killing something. Royal Cactuses move as slow as hell, so you won’t be spending too much money on potions. And if you get tired of training, there are three resting spots right above your head. Sounds good? Yeah, the place is pretty good. You can start training here once you 2-hit KO Royal Cactuses, though a 1-hit KO would be a lot better. Crowds: Unconfirmed Exp: 8/10 (not sure) Money Gain: Moderate Ludi PQ (Level 35-40) Level Limit: 35-50 Description: Ludi PQ is a fun way to break out of you boring routine of grinding, grinding, and more grinding. I suggest you go under level 40; the exp isn’t very good over that level. The place has been a ghost town ever since the release of MCPQ, so finding a channel is extremely easy. And don’t go PQing here if you have a bad Internet connection; if you disconnect in this PQ the entire thing is pretty much over. PQ guide: link Entrance Difficulty: Very low Exp: 6/10 Money Gain: High Vanity Room 2 (lvl 35-45) Monsters: Psycho Jack, Mirror Ghost Description: The spawn here isn’t exceptional, but I still highly recommend you train here because of the Psycho Jack’s great HP:exp ratio. The map is flat and relatively small, so maneuvering won't be much a problem. Just watch out for the mirror ghost that pops out once in a while; he'll inflict 200-300 damage to you a hit. Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Low link North Desert Road 2 (Level 37-42) Monsters: Kiyo, Sand Dwarf Description: North Desert Road 2 is completely flat, very long, and has a series of resting spots on the top of the map. The spawn is good (similar to Night at the Forest), so you can start training here once you’re able to one-hit KO the slow-moving Kiyos and Sand Dwarfs (2-hit KO is also acceptable). To train here, start at the left of the map and kill everything in your path until you reach the right. Then go into the Cash Shop and leave quickly. You will end up back at the left of the map. Repeat. Crowds:Unconfirmed (probably low) Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate The Burnt Land I and II (Lvl 37-42) Monsters: Fire Boar, Dark Axe Stump Description: Fire boar are good exp during the mid-30s if you can 1-hit KO them. A 2-hit KO is also ok, though there’ll probably be better places to train (boars, ant tunnel, etc.). The place isn’t very crowded and the landscape is relatively flat, so fire boars aren’t a bad place to go to, though they DO move very fast. Btw, fire boars drop Arwen’s Glass Shoe and K-fans. Crowds: Low Exp: 7/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Eos Tower 100th Floor (Level 37-42) Monsters: Ratz Description: Ratz are great training once you can 1-hit KO them, though a 2-hit KO is also acceptable. There’s not much of a training strategy here. Just climb up and down and kill everything. The map is thin, so easy to kill mobs often form on the platforms. Plus, this place is really close to Ludi PQ, so if you ever get bored… Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Sky Terrace 1, Cloud Terrace 1, Terrace Hall (lvl 37-42) Monsters: Pink Teddies, Brown Teddies Description: A 1-hit KO will serve you best here, though a 2-hit KO will still do you good. Teddies have a pretty nice rate of NPC’able drops, so training here won’t be a real cash burner. The exp is probably going to be the most exp you can get in your mid-30s. If you bummed out from training, you can go MCPQ, which is very close by. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Garden of Yellow I, Garden of Green I, Garden of Purple I (lvl 40-47) Monsters: Jr. Cellions, Jr. Lioners, Jr. Grupins Description: This place isn’t as good as Sakura Cellions, but the spawn is decent and you can get some nice exp here once you’re able to 1-hit KO cellions. And even though kitties only give half as much cash as their Amoria counterparts, they still drop exchange quest items and leathers, which, sold in bulk, are worth a lot. Since rarely anyone ever goes here, KSers won’t be much of a problem. Because of the small size, the upper platforms often form large mobs, so stay up there until a good amount of kitties form on the larger bottom platform. Crowds: Very low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: High link Study [3] (Level 40-57) Monsters: Nightmares Description: Study [3] is a small, completely flat room. It exercises a constant spawn of Nightmares, which have extremely good Hp:exp ratios (1930 Hp for 120 Exp FTW!) Now that I think of it, this place is a lot like Voodoos and Hoodoos, except lower level. Anyways, the Nightmares spawn 4 at a time, with 3 on the left and 1 on the right. In the middle is the mirror ghost; watch out for him because he’ll do 200-300 damage to you a hit. Even if you manage to stay away from the ghost, bring a lot of potions because this place can be a huge potion burner. Being able to two-hit KO Nightmares 100% of the time is recommended. Crowds: Low Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Nonexistant link Eos Tower 95th Floor (Level 43-50) Monsters:Dirty Ratz Description: Same as the 100th Floor, the exp here is good once you can 100% 1-hit KO the main monster in this map, the Dirty Ratz. To train here, climb up and down, killing everything in the way. Mobs form easily on the small platforms, so killing shouldn’t be very difficult. It’s all pretty simple. Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Hallowed Ground (lvl 43-50) Monsters: Jr. Wraith, Headless Horseman Description: The Jr. Wraith map next to the Haunted Mansion has great spawn and is completely flat. Train here if you can 1-hit KO Jr. Wraiths 100% of the time and can’t 1-hit KO flyeyes yet. Headless Horseman occasionally spawns here, but it never spawned on me, so that shouldn’t be much of a problem. Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Helios Tower 99th Floor (Level 45-55) Monsters: Retz Description: In the middle of the 99th floor is a set of 3 platforms with a series of knobs in between. The platforms are very close to each other, so you can use the knobs to jump from one platform to another in a matter of seconds. This allows constant killing, which is why Helios Tower 99th Floor is great exp when you can 1-hit KO Retz 100% of the time. The map is moderately crowded with I/L wizards, but finding a channel usually won't be a problem. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate The link to this map is unavailable. The Dangerous Cave (Level 48-55) Monsters: Flyeyes Description: Training here is boring. I mean, REALLY boring. You’ll probably never train at a place this boring ever again. However, if you can put up with all the boredom, flyeyes are decent exp if you can 2-hit KO them and great exp if you can 1-hit KO them. To start training, simply stand on the middle ledge on the 3 steps in the right side of the map. Then jump and attack everything that comes toward you; you should be able to hit almost every flyeye. Watch out for ones flying behind you though. Keep attacking and, if you don’t have a pet, don’t loot the drops. Unlike most training areas, this place is usually quite empty (when I trained here I rarely had to cc more than once, if at all). But the trip to the flyeye cave is dangerous, so watch out. Crowds: Low Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Negative link Secret Factory (Level 50-55) Monsters: Toy Trojan Description: To enter this map, hit random boxes in Toy Factory Process Room 4 and 5; one of them will teleport you here. When you enter this map it’s usually empty. But that’s easy to fix. Hit the boxes scattered around the floor, and BAM! Toy Trojans pop out of the box ten at a time. These huge mobs are great for Savage Blow, especially when you can 1-hit KO Trojans 100% of the time. The map layout is pretty crappy because of the conveyer belts, but the box spawn is constant enough for training here to be good exp. This place may be a money drainer, as these Trojans drop barely anything. Partying here is difficult because there are actually several maps in each channel; the map you get sent to is random. At least that means fewer people. Crowds: Very low Exp: 9/10 (figure needs confirmation) Money Gain: Nonexistant link A Night In The Forest (lvl 50-63) Monsters: Paper Lantern Ghost, Dark Cloud Fox Description: You can start training here once you can 2-hit KO Dark Cloud Foxes 100% of the time. The map is flat and not very crowded (only the occasional cleric), and the spawn is good so mobs often form. Though Paper Lantern Ghosts have magic attacks, they also have almost no knockback at all, so it’s not that much of a problem. Make sure you have haste turned on here because the monsters move really fast. You should stop training here once you 1-hit KO foxes 100% of the time. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate Ludi Maze PQ (lvl 51-60) Level Limit: 51-70 Description: Ludi Maze PQ is an extremely easy PQ to learn. When I started, I simply followed one of my more experienced members to the tauros. The quest is good exp most of the time, though the actual exp that you get is pretty random. A regular PQ lasts 2-3 minutes; if it takes longer than that go find another party. Since you finish the PQ so quickly, your inventory will probably clog up with the prizes, so make sure you empty out your “use” slots before entering. Guide: link Entrance Difficulty: Low Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: High Orbis Rush PQ (lvl 51-65) Level Limit: 51-70 Description: Unlike Ludi Maze PQ, Orbis Rush PQ gives very stable experience. Plus, it’s the only PQ in existence where your class, strength, or brains don’t matter. The exp is best if you smuggle or glitch (NOT RECOMMENDED if you’re against abusing glitches), though regular rush is ok too. Entrance Difficulty: Moderate Exp: 9/10 Money Gain: Nonexistant Practice Field: Beginner Level (lvl 50-75) Monsters: Straw Target Dummy Description: Once you can 2-hit KO these 100% of the time, target dummies will outshine all other training options for at least another 10-25 levels. The spawn here is awesome, the map completely flat, and these dummies are located in is right next to a town. They tend to gather in large mobs, too. Watch out for KSers though; these maps tend to be full in most servers during the weekends. Crowds: Very high Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Practice Field: Easy Level (level 50-75) Monsters: Straw Target Dummy, Wooden Target Dummy Description: This map is STRICTLY an alternative to its counterpart, “Practice Field: Beginner Level”. Only go here if you cannot find a map there. The Easy Level has two platforms instead of just one, so the spawn is only half as fast as the Beginner Level. But besides that, all you need to know about this map can be found in the description for the section above this. Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: High link Mountain Cliffs (lvl 53-75) Comparisons between this map and other similar training spots provided by penn4tennis Monsters:Gryphon Description: When you first enter Mountain Cliffs, you may not find the place to be of any training potential because of the map’s highly irregular layout of cliffs and teleports. However, most people can master the map within 30 minutes or so of training, so that is not a sustaining problem. To help you make things faster, here’s circulation map (provided by sapphire8): link Now, the biggest reason this map is so highly rated is because of the Gryphon’s superb HP:exp ratio. Even though Gryphons give 220 exp, their HP:exp ratio is so low that you can start one-hit KOing them 100% by your early 60s. The Gryphons fly around and spawn extremely quickly, so there is almost always one to kill wherever you go. Since this place is usually un-crowded, it serves as a perfect alternative to more popular maps such as V/Hoodoos. However, you must bring a lot of potions as you will get hit a lot. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: Negative link Forest of Golem (lvl 53-80) Comparisons between this map and Mountain Cliffs provided by penn4tennis Monsters:Dark Stone Golem, Mixed Golem Description: Ever since NLC and Mu Lung were released, the Forest of Golem has become worse and worse. But you can still train here; FoG remains one of the most sustaining training spots a bandit can go to. The place is best if you can 2-hit KO mixed golems; it’s even better if you can manage a 1-hit KO. Partying with 1 or 2 people here is highly recommended, since the spawn is inconsistent unless the map’s 4 platforms are being cleared constantly. If you decide to train here, make sure you bring A LOT of Hp potions, it’s ridiculously easy to get hit and the golems don’t let you off too easy if you do. Crowds: Moderate Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Nonexistant The link to this map is currently unavailable. Forest of Dead Trees 2-4 (lvl 60-70) Monsters: Coolie Zombie Description: Training at zombies is really a huge pain. To even reach the maps, you either need to spend 100k on a dead mine scroll or go through about 20 maps of dangerous monsters just waiting to kill you. Once your there, you have to put up with hoards of zombies slashing and poisoning you. Because of these cons, I recommend you don’t train here unless you can 2-hit KO zombies (to prevent them from poisoning you) and REALLY have to. The fourth map gives the best exp, though the fact that it has two platforms deters soloing efficiently most of the time. Crowds: High (for some reason) Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Dead Mine 1-4 (Level 60-70) Monsters: Minor Zombie, Flyeye Description: The spawn in here sucks, the map layouts are awful, and the exp you get is complete rubbish. So why am I including this in the guide? Because Minor Zombies drop Zombie’s Lost Gold Tooth. Zombie’s Lost Gold Tooth is an etc. item required to finish Part 3 of the Zakum quest. It is very hard to obtain (the drop rate is crap), so many people just purchase 30 of them (the required amount) from the FM for about 100k per tooth. Desperate Zakum helm buyers will pay up to 150k per tooth. Since training here will wield at least 10 teeth an hour, this means you’ll be making at least 1 million mesos an hour, which is a very good profit. The potions cost of training here is relatively low, since the zombies move slowly and are spaced relatively far apart. So you can always try out the Dead Mine when you’re low on cash. Crowds: Very low Exp: 4/10 Money Gain: High Sophia’s Bedroom 3, Vanity Room 3 (lvl 60-80) Monsters: Hoodoos, Voodoos Description: Voodoos and Hoodoos are both a gift from heaven and a curse from the hell. First, let's review what's good: V/Hoodoos have one of the best Hp:Exp ratios in Maplestory and are located in Sophia's Bedroom 3 and Vanity Room 3, which are COMPLETELY flat and very small. The bad: It's KSer heaven. Don’t count on finding a map in this place. V/Hoodoos are really, really, really crowded. If you’re under level 60, you're probably not going to hold a spot for very long. In many servers it’s actually gotten point where people “sell" v/hoodoo maps. To train here successfully, you must be able to 3-hit KO the dolls. But if you want to be realistic, have the KSer protection of being able to 2-hit KO them. Crowds: Very high Exp: 10/10 Money Gain: Moderate link Cloud Park VI (lvl 63-70) Idea submitted by jonboy911, training strategies by butterfli Monsters: Luster Pixie Description: Cloud Park VI used to be THE place to train back in beta. It’s no longer as good anymore, but, if you can 1-hit KO Luster Pixies, you’ll still find pretty decent exp training here. Plus, Luster Pixies drop exchange items, which you can easily merchant 200-300 mesos each in a shop. The map’s spawn is divided into two sections: a bunch of small-medium size platforms in the upper part and one big platform in the bottom part. This map layout isn’t very simple to work with; you have to know how to keep the map circulating. Here's a handy circulation map that you can follow (provided by butterfli): link Crowds: Very low Exp: 6/10 Money Gain:Moderate link 50-Year Old Herb Garden (Lvl 63-70) Monsters: Jar, Ginseng Jar Description: The spawn is really fast. I mean, really. Ever since Nexon's revision of this map in Patch 0.49, it's been like a two-platform Straw Target Dummies. And once you can 1-hit KO Ginseng Jars 100% of the time, it gives nearly the same amount of exp, too. The best part: almost no one ever goes here. However, the jars move faster than Dummies, so looting is harder and you have to be slightly more alert. Training here is still relatively easy, though. Simply circle the map in a clockwise motion. Crowds: Very low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Moderate Territory of Wandering Bear (lvl 70-75) Training spot idea submitted by jonboy911 and Paco240 Monsters: Pandas Description: Though Pandas have twice as much HP as Gryphons, they give you pretty much the exact same exp once you can 2-hit KO them 100% of the time. The spawn is good and the map they’re located in is relatively small and only consists of two major platforms. Training here is easy; simply circle the map in a clockwise motion and kill everything in the way. Make sure you have a lot of potions though: pandas have magic attacks and get an increase in speed when irritated. Crowds: Low Exp: 8/10 Money Gain: Low link Vanished Village (lvl 70-80) Monsters: Water Goblins (Kappas), Samiho Description: Flat map, great spawn. Reminds of Night at the Forest. But that's probably because Night at the Forest is right next to Vanished Village. The place isn't very crowded and is located in Zipangu (accessible from almost everywhere in Maplestory), so Water Goblins are a great choice when you can't find a map at Voodoo/Hoodoos, FoG, or even Straw Dummies. Water Goblins have more HP than Golems (their technical counterparts), but believe me, but at least the map here is flat. Just watch out for their magic attacks. And bring a few all-cure potions; the Samiho here have an annoying tendency to curse you. -Do you seriously need to criticize another training guide in your introduction? Makes you sound like a smartass more than a smartguy. -Very good idea with the "crowd" section. Any good training guide should have that. -The main problem with such a Comprehensive guide is that it raises more questions than it answers. Usually, when people want to know where to train, they'd rather have one or two solutions than fifty five. I know they could just look at the ratings, but I'm pretty sure lots of people would find it useful if you highlighted one way or the other (add *** in the title or something) the best grounds (according to you of course). -You need to explain more the Money rating. I expected it to be from 1 (you lose lots of money) to 10 (you gain lots of money), with 5 meaning you neither get or lose money. But I can't see how snails (or any low level training ground) deserves 8 in money and ORPQ gets a 6. -Very good to give a link to the map -I usually see lots of room in HTG as long as it's not in channel 1... but I don't really train there so what do I know :p -You give no alternative for HTG from level 10 to 13, in case people don't want to mingle in the crowds you mention :p -You could always mention HPQ -You might want to change the text for "Dungeon, Southern Forest IV", you probably hadn't added the new Octopus map when you wrote it :p -I'm pretty sure the Nightmare spawn in Study 3 isn't always 3 on the left one on the right -I'm pretty sure everyone would agree that Gryphons is better EXP than FoG :x Kazegiri said: "Ok a few things/suggestions: -Do you seriously need to criticize another training guide in your introduction? I might consider it. -Bleh, I really should. Normally I just put up whatever number I think sounds right. -Thanks again. -Ironically, I've never seen an empty platform in HHG. Not even in Khaini. -Well, there ARE alternatives, but I can't give any of them a 6 out of 10 for training and money, if that. Six out of ten is not high enough for me. -I have tried HPQ; it's too hard to get in and the exp starts reeking at about level 15 anyways. And even worse, no one will invite you unless you're like level 20. -Whoa really? That might be true; I had edited it for my assassin guide but possibly not for this one. -Maybe my observations were wrong but there tended to always be 3 on the left and one on the right. -Since I haven't tried FoG yet, it's possible. Hopefully I'll be able to compare the two maps soon. New Pic: Up There (BCM version)

Think about it. Most bandits between 60 and 70 would hit at least 3.3k per sb which is the HP of a single Gryphon. I myself began training at Gryphons at lvl 43, but that's just Dexless pride. Anyway... So assuming you 1hit KO Gryphons, that would mean you 2hit KO Mixes and Darks in FoG. So compare the exp...in Gryphons, it's 220 exp per hit whereas in FoG, it's 100-105 exp per hit. Now, the FoG spawn isn't as abundant as it used to be since all the high lvl jobs found much better places to train since NLC came out. So spawn in FoG is a less greater factor than Gryphons, since Gryphons fly just about everywhere in the map so there's always one to kill. I compared the exp I gained every 10 minutes at FoG compared to Gryphons (unfortunately, I'm still a few 100 hp off at killing the Mix golems with 1hit 100% of the time, so I still 2hit them). It took me half an hour to learn the Gryphon map and no time at all to get a hang of the FoG map (I did this as a lvl 61 dexless bandit). My exp every 10minutes at FoG was only 3%, but after I'd gotten the hang of the Gryphon map (it usually takes 10minutes-30minutes to get the patterns and portals down) i was able to recieve 8% every 10minutes. Now, FoG is an easy map to follow, so you can train with distractions. But Gryphons is a complex map with portals and patterns that you must take for the very best possible exp. Yet, distractions at a Gryphon map vs distractions at a FoG map would still get you better exp. The only benefit gained from FoG is the simplicity of the map providing you're not completely useless on how to maneuver between monsters 5 times your size. The other benefit would be that it's less of a pot burner compared to Gryphons. Gryphons are also a better training map than most others that are overrated such as the Straw Target Dummies in Mu Lung and vHoodoos in the Haunted Mansion of NLC (assuming you don't 1hit vHoodoos -.-). A lot of bandits that are in a rush for a training map overlook Gryphons and go straight to overrated maps such as FoG, vHoodoos and Straw Target Dummies. PQ is also overrated (personally, LMPQ is crappy exp after lvl 55, and I don't Glitch Orbis PQ~sorry, I'm legit). I was one of those bandits rushing for a training ground, so I trained from 50-57 at vHoodoos -.-. Gryphons are not to be underestimated exp wise. Just take the time to learn the map. Almost every map is empty and that's really good exp just sitting there, waiting to be taken. Sorry if this sounds really passionate and all, but I really hope Gryphons get up on one of the 10 slots of the best training spots from 50-70. penn4tennis said: " Anyone that's actually taken time training in both maps would know that Gryphons is MUCH better exp than FoG from 50-70. A response to your response :p Refer to numbers above 1) Well you should either not mention why you made the guide, or do it in a way that's less harsh (not mentioning names for instance). I dunno, bashing someone like that out of the blue is... not the kind of thing I like to see :p 2) Odd, whenever my level 10 mule goes near the storage in Henesys it gets invited to like three different parties :p Why would you need high levels anyway, it's not like if it's hard to break plants and lure monsters :p And the EXP was pretty good on my mule... better than anything except for the exchange quest of course XD 3) Hmm, perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought when I trained with my level 3X cleric there that the spawn wasn't that fixed. But then again, it's been a while :p 4) Well as the other guy said after me, it's not really a question of map, it's more a question of HP/EXP ratio, and gryphons have one twice better than Golems :p Also in FoG, if the other platforms are unoccupied, spawn isn't as fast... and moving across the ropes can be tedious, more tedious and longer than the teleports in gryphons. |
