Solution to the Avast/Maplestory Trojan Horse Detection

1. Double Click on the Avast icon. Screenshot 2. In the "avast! On-Access Scanner" window that opens, click "Details". Screenshot 3. Scroll down to "Standard Shield". Screenshot 4. Click "Customize..." Screenshot 5. On the "Advanced" tab, click "Add" Screenshot 6. Type in: "C:\Nexon\Maplestory\Maplestory.exe" and then click ok on each window. Screenshot Where "C" is the letter of the hard drive on which your maplestory installation is installed. Those with Maplestory installed on "Local Disk D:" for example must replace "C" with "D" 7. Happy Mapling! Screenshot In the unlikely case that the problem persists, please post a screenshot of the trojan popup given by avast. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ • If you accidentally added maplestory.exe to the virus chest when you first go this Trojan Horse alert, here is how to restore the file: 1. Right click the Avast icon. 2. Select "Start avast! Antivirus" 3. Once it opens, click on the virus chest icon. (If you aren't sure which it is, hover over each button for a popup with the name/description) 4. In the avast! Virus Chest window that opens, right click on the "Maplestory.exe" entry and select "Restore". (Sorry, no screenshots this time). • If you accidentally deleted maplestory.exe when you first got this Trojan Horse alert, you will need to reinstall maplestory: Direct link to mssetup.exe for convenience: link Much appreciation to all the users who have been helping with this problem up until now.

So this means, that this "Trojan" is safe? Also, today, GameGuard had an update, is that update about the "trojan"? o.o
gowitdaflow said: "ad-aware 2008 for me :D" Bad idea. Ad-aware is an antispyware program. One should never have an antispyware program to replace an antiVIRUS program. Both are necessary as both detect entirely different things.

OMG! like thanks but I havent tried yet. But so far so good =D(Edit: Btw I still had my MSsetup will it still work cause I'm like installing and it keeps saying my anti-virus not letting it go)0-0

... lol.No comment. Of course, this is exactly what I said, just a shorter TS; as well, in my thread, I assume that other people don't automatically install their game to C:NexonMapleStory. 'cause yeah. you know. I'm sure we all know someone got this from SOMEONE'S thread, and from SOMEONE'S suggestive report. >.>
i deleted ms after the trojan warning when my avira antivir told menow i reinstalled it with the mssetup thing on my comp but it still doesnt work when i click the the new maplestory icon, the small blue small with the authorixing and downloading appear as usual, but then this other box pops up and say something like u ar not online or mapelstory is going through a server check... som1 plx help T^T
