Look, I don't care anymore who started the flame war between Shinji and Pickle, but just calm down and cool it. Both of you are getting wound up about a GAME where it's the PLAYER'S choice to put stats/skills/whatever as they please. Both of you hold equally valid points:Shinji, you are right in that this is just a GAME, and that a player can use STR equips to bring up their damage to come closer in-line with lower DEX builds; especially with all the new STR scrolls out. Pickle, you also raise a valid point in that it MIGHT be wise to reset those DEX points into a more "reasonable" level for the higher base STR, and use ACC equips for making up the lost ACC from DEX.
I'm not getting wound up about the game itself, but rather the attitude of players like pickle that believe people shouldn't play it their own way.I see them as being no different to playground bullies picking on kids for wearing the 'wrong' clothes. My point whenever I get into these flamewars is that the people with freddypickle's attitude need to remember what humility is, and realise that people are gonna be different to them, like it or not. i'm just sick of seeing players with a higher base dex practically bullied into resetting or quitting the character when they could do something constructive, as opposed to throwing away the time they spent on it >_>
When did I say people shouldn't play the game their own way? Quit putting words into my mouth. All I've been doing is giving people advice when it was asked for. If you have a problem with me giving advice, then don't take it. But don't get on my case for trying to help someone out. You're more than able to give them advice of your own. But trying to start a fight with someone online because their advice is different is stupid. I'm not knocking you or how you play. Quit knocking me and, to get back on topic, get back to giving people advice. Just chill out, bud. No one's instigating anything except you.
*facepalm* Didn't I just ask you two to stop arguing? Please just respect each other opinions, they're both valid. Certainly, lowering base DEX would help increase base damage, but so would getting better STR/ATK gear; so both of you are correct... I don't think either of you have much to argue on anyways, it's just semantics of how you get the better total STR/ATK anyways.

I got people telling me to quit, restart, or jump off a cliff/kill myself for the last 138 levels, just because I stuck with a 80 base dex. I even got low-level, low dex nubs telling me my character's a "piece of cr@p," when it's funny that they're achieving their easy levels, easy gear and easy stats with their weekly load of $400 NX and can never experience or comprehend the type of humility and maturity that comes with making a character from scratch, then raising that character with only the things you gain from a process called "hard, honest work." I agree and stand by you 100%, TheShinji. Sure, NX and stat wh0res can try to shove, tease, and bully us as hard as they want to, but ultimately we will be the ones who succeed and achieve the high levels, and not be the ones quitting at level 70 just because they lose their first or second place positions in the e-penor contest. So come in, NX wh0res, if you don't like my stats, my gear, then sue me/cry/have a spaz attack over it, but I'm still going to get to 200, TOO BAD SO SAD.

" Really, the question in the thread led to that - "Why are people calling me weak?" There are 2 reasons - because he is a WK, and because his base dex is abnormally high. His gear is certainly not the problem, and the money spent on upgrading a 13 to 16 atk glove would definitely have been better off turning 95 base dex into maybe 45 base. If I counted right, his original gear had him at around 175-180 accuracy (base), which for Kappas is extremely excessive. Dropping that to 115 (incl. the change to DB) would still let him drop 50 base dex, and he can definitely afford to buy better acc/dex shoes and pants to make up the 14 acc he'd need to hit any monsters a WK will train on. Why do you folks keep resorting to calling me names just because I'm helping the guy out? I'm not a stat whore. My dex/luk/int is 65/4/4!

Those are some pretty godly equips...Assuming around 5 str = 1 w. atk, you have around 133 w. atk. Most people don't even have the money for the 16 atk wg alone...Your equips far outpower your high base dex. If you went "normal" dex (which I think is like 60-70 for pages/wks), you would only be gaining 35-25 str, which is only 7-5 atk...And the people that have 60-70 base DEX would have to buy nearly as expensive DEX/ACC equips...At that lvl, don't even think about restarting O_o". Unless you have the time to play 24/7. Another option would be to buy a ton of AP resets, but I don't think blowing $100+ is worth it for doing a couple more hundred damage, in any game. And when Time Temple or similar high-lvled places come out, you're gonna be happy you already have enough acc to hit the monsters XD while all the low DEX/DEX-less paladins have to spend 10 lvls to increase their base DEX, or scramble to buy uber-expensive ACC equips.
okay, i just have to say... im a 80 base wk and ive been asked if i was low dex at fog in my early 7xs, and i didnt have much funding, only a 21 dex chain, 9 att wg, 101/9 db and a bunch of other useless crap. Apparently the ppl who tell u this crap are just a bunch of noobs who are judging you on your base dex rather than your damage. just wait untill your fire charge is a good lvl and ull be able to ks those dumbasses to hell. so just keep on going, and soon youll outdmg those noobs in no time =)

I was referring to how Maple is clogged up with the exact type of scum Shinji pointed out, who find nothing more pleasurable than trolling around and calling others weak/useless just because they have more dex, do less damage, or cannot afford/do not have access to NX to reset their dex.

You were insinuating by your posts that I'm shoving things down people's throats. And you call the people who shove things down people's throats stat whores. I've never called anyone weak or useless. I have a moderate to high dex myself. I gave someone advice when it was asked for. Keep your flames to yourself cuz you will get none from me. |
