Analytical Chemistry, I Dont Even In the spirit of someone making a thread about philosophy classes; Has anyone here taken a class on analytical chemistry? I'm starting one tomorrow and I was wondering what kind of stuff I might see or how you guys liked it or not. Don't tell me to look at the syllabus either, I want to hear experiences from Bayzuhl.
Names and Their Meanings So me and my girlfriend were talking about if we ever had kids, what we would want to name them. In the process I stumbled upon this site where you type in your first name and it gives you this hardcore analysis of the kind of person you are and your faults and whatnot. How accurate is this for you guys? This is freakishly accurate in my case. If you want to see what makes me tick for whatever reason, my name is Anthony.
College students How long do you have to drop your classes? As the title says, I'm trying to see how long you have to drop your classes. Halfway through last semester it was proposed at my university that they would change our drop time we have from eight weeks to two weeks. Which is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. We all raised hell about it and now they have it so it will affect the class of 2018 and onwards... Which isn't any better for future students. So, I was just wondering how long you guys have to drop your classes? To get an idea of how many colleges only have two weeks to drop their classes. What would you guys think if you were in this kind of situation?
What did you Give for Christmas? So, there are multiple threads about what you got for Christmas. But what did you GIVEEE for Christmas this year? I got my girlfriend a necklace of the molecule theobromine and a box of fancy assorted dark chocolates. I got my mom a gift certificate to a spa. Got my dad a chillum. And I gave my girlfriend's family some pretty nice wine.
Transferring Universities So, as to use Basil as my personal blog like everyone else, I'm letting you guys know I'm going to try and transfer to another university. The one I'm at is just not the right place to be at for what I want to do with my life. It's a beautiful institution and it really is a great school, but it isn't right for me. Any of you guys have any experiences changing colleges? How did it go for you? I'm thinking it will go pretty well. I know tons of people over at where I want to transfer and they all love it. Everyone here is just miserable and stressed out.
People in college/university How in the hell do you guys deal with lectures that are 400+ people that have TAs that don't care and have a professor that just tells you to refer to her TAs? I'm not too worried about this specific course since it's just Biology, but in the future in case I have to deal with this again. Which I know I will. Also, let's turn this into a general rant thread about college.
Shooting on Mit Campus So if you can't tell by the title, there was a shooting on MIT campus. Thoughts?
That quotAhahquot Moment I just had one of those, and now all of the Calculus I've been doing wrong now makes so much more sense. I apparently wrote down the quotient rule and the product rules backwards... So all of my answers have either had the signs reversed, or completely wrong though I knew for a fact I was doing the math right. I've been working on this for like an hour, wondering what the hell I was doing wrong. Now I have this unbelievable sense of understanding since all I did was write down the rules wrong and not that I had no idea what I was doing. :P So Basil, what's some cool stuff that finally makes sense to you now?
Need Things to Watch on Netflix I just acquired access to Netflix instant play, and I'm stuck. I don't know what to watch! So, what are some good things that are on instant play? I'm okay with any type of genre.
What are your thoughts on Add and Adhd? So Chat section, I'm doing a research paper for my Medical Science class about ADD and ADHD. I see ADD and ADHD as being a disease that is completely overdiagnosed and is partially a product of an out of date educational system and lack of relevance in our educational systems. Yeah, of course there are people who honestly have a problem paying attention and seriously hinders them academically. But a lot of people fall under the population that were apart of the thousands that were "overdiagnosed" and really don't have a problem at all. I can personally think of 5 people off the top of my head who were diagnosed with the disease, and only take their meds to get high. It's absurd. What are you
