What Class Do I Pick Up On Next? Hey guys I'm indecisive. I know a few things right now that are influencing my decision. I've got 2 Archers at 200+ so I am pretty much done with ranged classes for a while. I've been on quite the kick for melee DPS lately and I'm torn between a few classes I've been having fun with. Shadower - Currently 171. Fast paced, high mobility, really fun amounts of damage, training is a breeze when you can literally teleport around the map. Also he's a UA which is a bit of a bonus because they're few and far between nowadays. Cons are that LUK is the most consistently expensive stat, usually unless thieves get wacky nerfs or something Hero - Currently 164. Less fast paced and less mobility but holy shoot, those phas

Difficult Classes Now before you type it, you know who you are person who just started typing "Maplestory is easy (for the most part...until you start fighting endgame bosses) there's no such thing as a hard class" yes I know that and I know most classes can be played to some extent without diving deep into any mechanics that they have. I'm wondering what classes are the most mechanically demanding, whether they require a high APM to really get the most out of their DPM. Also, I'm in such a mood for melee classes right now, used to love ranged classes but now I'm in love with close range classes.

Can't Create New Characters Hello Basilers. It's been a while. Recently got the all too familiar draw to come back to MS after about 5 months away due to moving states. So as I usually do, I grabbed a new character slot with some ARK coins and deleted a character. Went to make a new character with 2 character slots open and received the message, "You do not have any more character slots. Please purchase a slot expansion or try a different world." Anyone else been having this? If so...what's the fix?

Coming Back AgainGet Me Up to Speed? Hey I don't know if I'm familiar to anyone here but I'm back now. Didn't play really at all for 2016, and most of 2017, just did log-ins every few months to be sure my account still existed. I've been playing for about a week now and doing what I do best, character hoarding. Leveled my Bowmaster from 165-176, then made a Fire/Poison made and got him to 116 in a day, then made a Buccaneer and got her to 108 in 2 days (Brawler 2nd and 3rd Job are BORING, even with personal Kishin and HS). I have 2 alternate accounts, one with a Kanna and one with a Bishop, helps a lot with those boring early levels. But yeah...what's changed, what's new? I know about Elite Bosses, new Zakum (CZak is actually satan now), 5t

Video Series Idea First off, I'm PRETTY sure this is in the correct section but if it isn't please don't hate me or make me cry. So, I'm making just a small post to get an idea of people's possible interest. I want to try out making a series of videos of me leveling a character...with nothing but questing. A few of you may remember my post from a few days ago about how dissatisfying and un-viable questing is. However, thinking about that sparked my intrigue for quests in the game. If anyone would have any interest in me starting a character at level 1 then leveling it through quests (and killing monsters on the way to other quests) let me know. I just want to get a pulse on the community to see if this would be something that would truly in

Idea: Questing Overhaul Lets start with a show of hands, how many of you do quests regularly as a viable mean of leveling or income in the game? Now for those of you raising your hands, how many are doing quests and quest lines other than Root Abyss, Gollux, Commerci, and your class story quests for the first few levels...ah, a lot less hands now. Now for another show of hands, how many people join parties regularly. Lots of hands, cool, now how many people join parties that are not for PQs, major major boss runs (CRA, Hellux), or training parties that do not have HS or Kanna. Once again, the hands fall down, and the only ones likely remaining are those who party with friends occasionally or a new player to help them out a bit. I would like

The Pay To Win Stigma Recently, through cash shop changes, for better or worse, the phrase "this game is becoming more/less pay to win" is being used in abundance. I want to discuss the idea further. A wise YouTuber named Wrel, who primarily makes content for PlanetSide 2 made (for all the comments not about this topic, maybe a quick lesson on how to make my links look less janky would be appreciated. Google didn't help much) this video to discuss Free to Play and Pay to Win and how it relates to gaming as a whole. The thing about Maple is that there truly is no "win" there is vertical progression. You can pay to move through levels faster, okay. You can pay to make your gear strong, alright. But where do you win in this

Discussion on 2x Card Cap Removal I heard quite a ruckus today online when the patch notes came up. People were baffled that they removed the level limit on 2x cards, and heated discussions went back and forth on the change. Positive- Macro'ing is a huge issue today, and it's becoming harder to tell respectable legit 200+ players from the phonies (I'm a legit 200 for the record :D 8 hours of bum soreness this weekend to prove it). While no, there is no justification for this, and it is using a third party program to directly affect gameplay, the amount of people using them expresses that there is a reason people want them. Maybe a good look at the state of experience received from questing, party quests, and party play zones will inspire pe

PSoK and Tyrant Question So yesterday, as a budding new level 200, I wanted to be cool like the cool kidz and get a Tyrant Cape...so I did. Except upon purchasing it, I got the post purchasing qualms of "was this worth it?" I got it clean and so I would have to start from the ground and work up taking time and exorbitant amount of meso/NX to make it worth. I felt that maybe it was better to just PSoK it and sell it...but then a different question came up. I have a designated merchant who holds the items I want to sell and the store permit. I want to sell the cape, but it would go fastest if I gave it over to her. So if I PSoked the cape, put it in storage, and took it out on my merchant. Would I have to PSoK it AGAIN to make it se

A Big Day and Questions for the Future Today was a big day for me. I finally achieved my first level 200 after being a player for 7 years (cue the "oh 200 wasn't hard I do that in 2-3 days" comments). I always had trouble finding a class to love, and I've flitted around from class to class for years now. I've had 8 Cygnus Knights, countless amounts of Explorers, 6 Ultimate Explorers, and many other classes, but it wasn't until a few months ago that I found Wind Archer. Something about their playstyle makes me happy to sit for hours to level up (let's be honest Wind Walk is why I love the class). So from 12:44 PM of December 21, 2008 until 5:29 PM, May 17 is how long it took me to get a level 200. Glad I found my class finally. Now

The MapleStory Suggestion Thread Throughout playing this game over 7 years, I've always admired so many things about it. Art style, music, community aspects, and everything. However, there are longstanding issues primarily in gameplay that would be nice to see addressed. So often we complain, but we don't offer up solutions or suggestions for problems. I don't think this thread would get too far to Nexon, but who knows, maybe a community manager who knows some of the Nexon Korea overlords can persuade them to change a few things we suggest to improve the game. Problem: Quests are nearly pointless due to low time:EXP or reward ratio (exceptions being Gollux, Commerci, and Root Abyss, and that's mainly because of their rewards. Solution: Intr

Please Stop The Cant Login Threads Not to be rude, or insensitive to the issue at hand, but there are way too many threads coming up about log in issues. Here's everything you should need to know Starting at about 12:15 AM PST, the servers were lagging. Soon to follow, both the primary log in servers for every world. along with the cash shop server, were taken down almost completely. Nexon is aware, and has had some poor server admins working while they should be with their families or sleeping to try and fix this mess that these selfish kids made. In the meantime, here are some things that you can try Star World Log-In: According to many of the server status sites, Star World Log-In server is still up. It may or may not work but it's worth
