Chemistry Help It's a fairly simple question, idk how I forgot it, but how do you determine if a substance is ionic or covalent, if you are NOT given it's formula. You are simply given the substance in your hand and asked to conduct tests to determine what type of bonds hold it together. What do you do? -What I think is that we take the substance and place it in water, as ionic compounds generally dissociate into it's respective ions in water. Not sure if this is right though. What would you do? And is there a way to determine if the covalent bond is pure covalent or polar covalent? Edit: nvm, my idea isn't reliable because sugar can also exist in crystal structures, and are able to be dissolved in water, so i'm clueless. ~Thanks

In a predicament, advice appreciated So today I received a text from someone who obviously knew my name and number asking me for money. I asked who it was and what was the money for, the person said they were, "the dealer", and that I owed him money because some "chinese kid bought weed off me and told me to talk to you for the money". Anyways, I explained this to "the dealer" who kept swearing and saying that he needs his money, and he kept suggesting that my friends (I have a small group, about 4~5 that I've known for about 8 years) were doing weed and not letting me know. And now, he's s
