hello, i know that there are alot of guides and stuff but i just want to make sure im not doing any mistakes anymore.
what would be recommended to merch with 500m+ or 1b+?
i usually see people earn alot of money from chairs. however, the prices always changes and i dont get why. same thing happens with nx as much as i know.
furthermore,i dont get 1 thing: if there are new chairs that are coming, how could people possibly know their exact prices? its new, like that airplain chair that came out a few days ago, its around 3-5b solid. how do people guess prices like that?

Make your own prices, of course. c':
I generally set my prices up sky high if what i'm selling isn't on the market yet, or is scarce on the market.
Give it a day or two, other people come and often set the price equal to or a little below mine.
.. that's it.
It's great.
Maple's market is pretty weird. For example, there was a time when Wisdom Crystals were scarce and dabrs/wabrs were a thing. I took advantage of how there were literally none of the aforementioned on the market, and I set my prices up super high (12m for each wisdom crystal).
Ouii take advantage of the markeeeet!
I can't make any suggestions about the current market 'cause I haven't gone around in MS's fms recently. :s You could merch perm nx items if you find them super cheap, but the payback isn't super quick.

It's really not a matter of guessing how much a chair is. Guaranteed that these are all just in demand with low supply = high prices. Plus, the price is set to how much one is willing to pay, not a set amount guessed "correctly."

i see, i actually suspected something like this was going on, wasnt sure though. i also thought the size of the chair could affect its price. (since the big ones are 2b+)
according to what you are saying, if a chair's price is going down from lets say 1b to 500m, i can put it for sale for 1b or 900, other people will see it which will lead them to sell it at equal price and eventually the price of the chair will rise? did i get this right?

I don't recommend buying and reselling as much as farming selling leaves/spell trace. You can also do your dailies and NPC the pots you dont use or sell the power elixirs in FM. Another thing is to extract gears into monster crystals to craft things to sell or just sell the crystals.

She's right about finding your own ways to make money. If you choose to buy perm NX that seems to look nice that is currently in the boxes you can resell much later at a higher price, though the pay off takes quite a bit of time.

@phantomsl2: Mmm, first of all, I probably wouldn't invest 500m+ into a single item to resell for profit simply because I feel like the risk is pretty high. Second, prices can really depend on how often it appears on the market. I don't guarantee that people will follow suit with the prices you place all of the time. o:
If you see people placing an item that was otherwise 1b to 500m within a day or two, thats another great reason why it might be a better idea to not invest into such a price fluctuating item. Of course it's a different story if you got that same item for a low price.

this :"you can resell much later at a higher price" for example, is one of the things that i dont get in maple's fm.
i will give an example for an issue with this sentence: if i got what you said right, you basically said that equips which i cant get anymore (such as nx from surprise style box) will rise in price once you cant get them anymore, it sounds 100% reasonable and it is true. BUT there are many nx equips or even chairs that you cant get anymore and their prices actually went down by alot. this may have something to do with what she said about "make your own prices" such as 1 person offers "x" nx equip for "y" price, and other people see the price and put their exact item for a bit lower, eventually the price drops by alot. the fact that its not "exact science" annoys me a bit, since many people achieve around 20b+ like this without even realizing how the market works.

There are lots of equips and chairs that are rare. Because of this, people aren't too sure about how to place their prices, so they just make them up. Other people follow suit. Given the right timing, you can take advantage of this, actually.
Heh. Merching isn't an exact science at all. Buying/Selling isn't a systematic procedure, which is why the market fluctuates as heavily as it does.

i see, its not the answer i thought i would get when i opened this thread, i really thought im missing something since alot of prices just went down exactly when i bought things, but now i realize why.
thanks alot for your help, it really opened my eyes

@phantomsl2: If there's none in the market, you sell it for whatever you want
