There are plenty of people who make a very good living playing video games, are we going to make that distinction? And lastly, ask a pro athlete who plays basketball or football how long their careers last? The answer is not long--playing contact sports isn't exactly good for your body so I'll just rule out that "health" argument. The "it's his job argument" also fails because the majority of hardcore atheletes in the world don't do it for a living. Yet, they obsess with it all the same. So the catalyst then would mean whether or not they get paid to detemines whether or not they are a loser? Yes, there are exceptions some pros have very long healthy careers and physical lives, just as there are exceptions to people who play games more than your average Joe as being "people with too much time" like that other guy was suggesting. Don't take things out of context. I responded to that guy because he was being a smart a** and generalizing. |
