For those who like to play it safe and not be hellbanned

The following is a public service announcement an test of the emergency basilcast network
*Tornado Siren noises*
A Hacking/banning watch is currently in effect for Los Angeles, CA. Residents of MS are encouraged to use caution when trading in the FM. No hellbans have been spotted, but conditions are right for some to form. If a full blown hacking epidemic is spotted on the ground, a warning will be issued.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Mapling.
*Tornado Siren noises fade*

So, it seems obvious to anyone actually trying to legitimately grab snowflakes that hackers are simply hoarding/vacing them up themselves. Already there's reports of shops in the FM associated with hackers opening up with numerous white scrolls selling for stupidly cheap prices. The last time we saw a nice scroll exploit caused by an event was Perfect Pitch- and we all remember what happened there.

There's probably not enough snowflakes generated by the event to really cause an issue. But, to be safe, I am personally keeping my FM shop closed until the end of the event and not trading with anyone. I refuse to get hellbanned when there's a simple and obvious way to avoid it- don't trade. Yes, I'm paranoid, but I figured I'd do my mandatory public service announcement in case anyone else wants to play it safe as well.

If anyone else wants to join the Paranoid Train, feel free- now might be a great time to just take a short break from trading, sit back, and enjoy any show that does occur.

Yes, I understand this is wild speculation, so no need to point out that no bans have occurred. Just call me Cassandra if my prophecy comes true.

Well, much like spotting a tornado, you can look at air pressure.

For a tornado it's drop in barometric pressure caused by the tornado and storm system itself.
For Hellbans, it's the drop in air pressure as you can literally feel the air sucked out of the room when you open basil one day and see 984 threads all saying "Nexon Fail!" and "WTH, I'm banned?" and realize that you too have recently traded...
Well, since it isn't a exploit like the other ones that have to do with mesos, I don't think they will start hell banning people because all the mesos that they are using to buy and sell white scrolls are legit.
I would hope so, however... the Chaos Scroll exploit from Perfect Pitch only generated Scrolls. They sold those scrolls in the FM/Trades and MTS, got huge hordes of cash, and then people who traded with the hackers were hellbanned.

But, there's a huge difference between that exploit and this vac-hacking- they were able to instantly generate scrolls- here all the hackers can do is vac hack the snowflakes so they have more than anyone else. I'm hoping it slows them down enough such that they can't actually buy enough scrolls to cause any damage.

We'll see though. I'm paranoid like that- It's kept me unbanned and alive this long, so I'll play it safe. I just figured I'd warn others if anyone else felt liek being a paranoid fool like me.
